They leave deep claw marks wherever they go, they literally tear up any path they walk on. I believe that by day 477, all the buildings of New York have collapsed from the destruction of the death angels.
I doubt it. These things will only run if they hear a slightest bit of noise which will probably be very unlikely because everyone but the main gal evacuated & she is now dead so NYC is pretty much dead, empty & belongs to the death angels.

Eh it's just movie stuff. Military rarely ever does very well in "threat to humanity" movies. Real life would just be large numbers of deaths but military pulls it off in the end. Not that I mind personally since movies are movies. It wouldn't be as entertaining imo. Only time I find it bad is when movies do that thing where the military really does nothing and just dies ON SCREEN where most of them look like it's their first day on the job. Like Godzilla 2014...
I don't understand how the creatures aren't confused by the noise they make, the noise the other creatures make behind them, the falling of parts of buildings all around, ...
Think of it like someone being blind, their other senses get heightened to help compensate and these creatures never see so their hearing can probably pick up very fine pitch changes and variations in noises.
We see in the first movie that the creatures don't go to all noises. Natural noises like wind or water falling doesn't attract them, so they are smart enough to figure out what noises they need to run too
Considering their reliance on hearing, and the fact they have vocal cords, it possible they are emitting some sort of sound we can't hear that signifies who/what they are. This sound might even be emitted passively and constantly on a frequency we can't hear.
0:16 This... this is just amazing and terrifying. An overshot of NYC in ruins with SO MUCH debris, all cause by sound-killing, extraterrestrial monsters

Pretty sure they are retconning the origins of the death angels. Originally it was just a single random meteor that landed in Mexico, but in this latest release there is a map of Earth that kind of implies the meteors were targeted at major cities. Kind of implying there is an intelligent alien race sending these things.

The fact that they are simply invulnerable to anything modern militaries can field makes it a bit TOO unbelievable. Like a 30mm armor piercing round from an A-10 simply bounces off? They are just running and jumping around tirelessly wearing full body organic armor that is more dense than depleted uranium?
That's not even mentioning the fact that the force of a round still has to go somewhere and if it's flesh under those plates then that flesh is gonna be getting liquified, so yeah sure the .50 BMG or 20mm Bushmaster might not penetrate it but the thing isn't getting back up afterwards regardless
It's less that they're invincible and more they're abundant. They're all over the planet and in a lot of populated areas, you can't just nuke every single city

If they only landed in America that means from all the 7 continents the world has 2 are screwed, because the creatures can walk between both but not get over the ocean to Europe, Africa etc. Now if they landed in Europe, Asia or Africa these 3 are screwed but Northamerica, Southamerica and Australia would be safe. Islands like Japan or the Philipines would be safe nonetheless. Greenland and Iceland too. There's also Antarctica but there are no big cities just scientific bases, animals and some small groups of people maybe villages there so they would most likely land somewhere devoid of life or sound. (except natural sounds like ice breaking, winds) I wonder how these creatures would react to extreme heat or cold.🤔 This gives the same question like I have with TWD. Loved this movie but I didn’t think the military would quickly figure out the creatures were sensitive to noise. I thought people would just gradually figure that out over the years, and that’s how they eventually found out high frequency noises would make them vulnerable… so literally nobody in the military, or a government scientist could put two and two together that high frequencies would be their saving grace?
This entire thing never made sense to me because if the aliens have echo location they could easily find humans just off their foot steps and breathing sounds.

My hypothesis is that the military was trying to save too much. They were trying to save the people, the cities (infrastructure), the way of life, and using any of the big weapons they had on hand would have meant having to sacrifice one or more of those. If they had instead just focused on saving people their hands would have been less tied. By the time they realized that there was no way to save all of it, it was too late. That’s my thoughts anyways, and I’m willing to be wrong, but it does fit what is shown on screen and with the established world building.

They’re kinda like hippos. It’s not necessarily that they can’t swim but rather that they’re just too heavy to float. But unlike hippos they can’t seem to hold their breath very well so they just drown.
But I’d imagine they’d climb or crawl out if they can
Don't forget our tiny enemies that woud also be our saviours, bacteria and viruses, we have been at war since we emerged from the slime and kept winning through millennia of evolution whereas the aliens haven't been able to overcome them
