Its been at least 7 years since i saw this sketch on TV. At least once a year i still think about the "hotties in this piece" part when I'm partying and it makes me crack up. Today was that day.
Genius! I'm not even American but I get what they're talking about, the short attention spans. Also, they totally nailed the David Guetta/LMFAO type generic dance song, stuck in my head now.
They really aren’t “talking about anything” they thought of a funny sketch, it’s such a basic obvious point that y’all are acting like is some deep thing it’s not
Emma Goldman once said "If I can't dance I don't want to be part of your revolution." But I don't think she imagined that the dancing would become the WHOLE revolution.
The only difference for me is "one book club at a time". I'm doing everything I can to NOT move in with my parents but I went to art school. It's really hard to keep a roof over your head with art.
Fred's hair in this sketch....and his face at 1:03...then the woman looking at her puke hands in background at 1:30. Always so much layered brilliance.
funny as it may try to be, the realism here just makes me depressed. our attention span has gone to shit, OWS had steam for a few months before people moved on to kony, congress is still corrupt. fuck.
Oh god why are there always so many pseudo intellectual children in the comments for this show saying “oh I get it they’re talking about Society” no they aren’t you’re thinking way too deeply about something that doesn’t call for it it’s a comedy
Of course there was a lot of people who supported different political ideologies, and who had different opinions on how the problem should be fixed, but regardless the entire point of the movement was to fix the income inequality gap.
Everyone of these Portlandia types wants to live in the city and have this cool cosmopolitan "street smart" cool and hip dangerous lifestyle to feel important but there is no work downtown unless you are some business guy or tech guy. With less work because rent is so dang high there you have to either get a really good job and be rich or already be rich because your parents have a lot of money to let you play all day forever. All of the real work is in suburbia and outside as well as industrial areas.
I feel like I, and everyone else, DIDNT watch this show when it was on, because I didn’t want to watch a show that CELEBRATED Portland’s Millennial stupidity. But actually, this show MOCKED AND MADE FUN OF millennials’ stupidity. And now that it’s OVER!!! I love it.
It didn't do either. Watch Tim Heidecker's (as Bill Maher) interview with Fred Armisen. The interview is a joke but that specific part is what Fred and Carrie have confirmed in other places.
"Had to take a big step backwards... Now you're dancing!"

You have to be equally in lamenting pain when it happens
Literally looked this up today because there are "so many hotties up in this piece" ☠️
Portlandia was such a prophetic show. Skit after skit of the following decade to laugh at.
It wasn't prophetic, the tools are simply becoming more effective.
It's not prophetic. They were satirizing current events. Every generation thinks they're the first ones to have problems in early adulthood.
I totally felt his pain the moment he realized how many hotties were up in that piece
This would definitely be a really big hit if they released a full version.
♩♪ if someone could teach this generator to stand up. it'd be as viral as pee in a cup ♬♫
This is such a time capsule of the early 2010's
now we have Tik Tok dance protests, lol
Genius! I'm not even American but I get what they're talking about, the short attention spans. Also, they totally nailed the David Guetta/LMFAO type generic dance song, stuck in my head now.
You nailed it
And the fact everything is designed to distract people
They really aren’t “talking about anything” they thought of a funny sketch, it’s such a basic obvious point that y’all are acting like is some deep thing it’s not
@@byHexted Tell me you don't understand comedy without saying you don't understand comedy
this video cant be anymore right about the society we live in right now
ngl I miss the dancing. What I wouldn't do to go a day without hearing about politics
Im from the future
Its worst
The world would be a better place if everyone who went to clubs/raves was sterilized
The economy was incredible 9 years ago
hey, no one listened to this back then, and we're paying for it now :(
I love how they use so many regular people! Everyone looks like they could be found in town.
That’s the genius of the show. They have so many locals and on location scene that the line between fiction and reality are blurred.
Emma Goldman once said "If I can't dance I don't want to be part of your revolution."
But I don't think she imagined that the dancing would become the WHOLE revolution.
Yeah but have you played Dance Dance Revolution? It made me forget all about the collapse of the middle class.
this is her fault
It’s so hard to decide what Portlandia song is better: this one or the deam of the 90s… keeps me up
That was 2 minutes and 14 seconds that everyone should see!
It's so sad but it's so ridiculously true!!!!
Portlandia is so good!!!
It is never more ridiculously true then now!
Lmfao his hairstyles cracks me up everytime
"mind eraser shots with a twist of lime"
Ugh, mind erasers bringing back some nostalgia that includes the headaches...
My favorite Portlandia skit of all time!
Put a bird on it
The only difference for me is "one book club at a time". I'm doing everything I can to NOT move in with my parents but I went to art school. It's really hard to keep a roof over your head with art.
Keep going x

Tonight we’re gonna party cause the party don’t stop
Favorite episode ever.
I tried to count the ways I love you Portlandia, but I got distracted by all the hotties up in this piece.
This should totally be a real song...
Brittany McNair isn't it!!!!!?????
"Hey! Look! Dance tent!" heeeeeee
So many hotties up in dis piece!! 😂
Thank you for uploading this! Looking for footage for my reel.
Sincerely,
Bot Dylan
LoL @ Bot Dylan :-D
How does it feeeeel?
Fuckin' right! 1:36 is the only reason I was searching for this video.
This just happened… that mayor called it the summer of love
I don't know how they did it but this video completely nails a whole generation in 2 minutes.
They've finally explained what I suspected might have been happening but was always to jaded to really properly think about...
1:36 gets me every time lol
I feel like the frat/sorority dedication to "service" is basically this, with the occasional bake sale thrown in.
This is too realistic.
Im from the future
Its real
Isn't this the premise for Prayer in C?
"You know, I'm more mad at myself than anything else".
"So many hotties up in this piece!"
The way Fred says hi to bot Dylan is like.. oh hey! It's Bot Dylan ,everyone knows who that is it's Bot Dylan obviously
I want this to be a real song!!!
*Electronic voice*

I'm going to change the world through Butternut squashes.
funny as it may try to be, the realism here just makes me depressed. our attention span has gone to shit, OWS had steam for a few months before people moved on to kony, congress is still corrupt. fuck.
I bet you aren't feeling any better, 7 years later....... *cries a little*
Whatever happened to Kony ? Haven't heard his name in a while
guys we can't be doin' minderaser shots!! bwahaha
WOW, just in awe of how history repeats ....this was a funny video but it's the truth / was a warning sign ❄😜😁
Oh god why are there always so many pseudo intellectual children in the comments for this show saying “oh I get it they’re talking about Society” no they aren’t you’re thinking way too deeply about something that doesn’t call for it it’s a comedy
The dance pit just brought me to my knees.
Of course there was a lot of people who supported different political ideologies, and who had different opinions on how the problem should be fixed, but regardless the entire point of the movement was to fix the income inequality gap.
And thanks to it now the whole world is partying to get away from the unfulfillment of their jobs
i thought the robot said "attention unemployable idiots" lol.
fucking genius
His wig 🤣
Plumbers union has always had jobs available. No student loans required.

Electric slide to your future

BOT DYLAN
And then this kinda happened.
Omg, the power ranger, daft punk dancers! Roflmao
What happens in Portland stays in Portland.
Hey Bot Dylan
Was that really Daft Punk?
Nothing has change, except that , there is no police department now.
There's also the idea of a confused political message and being poorly informed.
The cars are of course Subarus lol
Ahead of the curve here
daft punk wuz there lol
I mean...
LMFAO
Was that shade thrown at twenty one pilots at the Ukulele part?😂
