@@mobiledevto I mean from the perspective of a consumer: you're basically looking at all the albums the artist put time and effort into only to pick and choose very specific songs from each. Depending on the artist those albums most likely have a story behind them or they could represent a specific period in the artist's life; their full effect as presented may rely on the full album being listened to in chronological order, otherwise you're just listening to a catchy song. Not to say there's anything inherently wrong with listening to a catchy song or only listening to what you enjoy, it just seems kind of disrespectful and or like you're invalidating the artist's art through thoughtless consumerism.
This comment is confusing to me. They said “oh that guys the worst” to the guy in the street. Then the guy with the trash said salsa reggatone. Sorry but am I missing something here?
Honestly, it would be super cool to have a night where 1000 DJs are spinning up & down city blocks. Just all different stuff too. And plenty of alcohol/etc. of course.
A structural component of this sketch is that, the less affluent the dj is, the worse they are at it. Not so true in my experience, I think the sweet spot is 40 year old who lives with parents and considered the tracks all week.
I play rockabilly, hillbilly, and psychobilly.
Haha that was a line from the sketch!
@@jmcbastard9665And they still fucked it up! I love people
I feel guilty getting a best of as well
They definitely short change you.

Finally a Portlandia skit uploaded in HD on TH-cam
Carrie's screams are the best. Every time she raises her voice it's a win.
"DJ Direct Deposit" lmao
“Uh, is this my receipt?” No. Lmao 🤣
When Portlandia has an idea..they go all out!!
DJ Nights are OVER! It is all about the Podcast now.
Salsa, reggatone. "Oh that guy's the worst. " Crushes me every time.

Too relatable. As someone that DJ'd in Santa Cruz back in the 2000's.
I'm waiting for the Portlandia/Key and Peele crossover episode.
I think of this sketch whenever someone tells me about their podcast
Check out my podcast fam. It's lit. No cap.
Love Fred !! Unbelievably talented.
I love how they have a shot of Fred scraping the flier off the desk uncomfortably
Nice Faithless - 'God is a DJ' reference. I see what you did there 😜
Rip Maxie fresh
Can we pickle that?
Not sure but you can definitely put a bird on it
The gameboy music was a nice touch
❤FAH! (Funny As Hell) One of my 5 top clips (Colin on Chicken, Chicken Farm, Bike Movers, Dog Park, Kid left at Restaurant) BEST ones.
I question the talent of a man who goes by the name DJ Direct Depo$it.
Genius!
When his head comes off 😂😂😂
This is me with my dj sb and laptop

That's what a lot of Fête de la Musique is like in Paris at summer solstice. Citywide.
Sounds awesome! @@0x0008
DJ Direct Deposit? I'd go.
Am I the only one who things the smoking man in the intro (see 3:49) looks like George Clooney?
Ese es Jorge Clooney
Wow. An ACTUAL human bank teller
Everyone in LA
No LA is chronically hip w money
agree 10000%!!!! lol
Wasn't this show literally edited by a guy named Doug Lussenhopp aka DJDougpound? Juss sayin he's critiquing himself, which is healthy & stuff.
hey man, write what u know
and the red sweatshirt guy is the co creator of Tim and Eric Awesome Show and Portlandia
Haha very nice, just curious, is that her real mom ?! 🤔😇🤗
no lie though 3:26 is a slapper of a beat lmao
But also how crazy is that bit... our entire existence has been just some dude's dj session
yeah seriously, I kinda want that ID
I made a 2024 remix of that. Should come check it out at my DJ night.
This show is hard to watch. All the shots of PDX in its prime before it died. Sad
Biraz tuhaf 😂😂
DJ Direct Depo$it was pretty tight tho
Berlin Kurzgesagt.
Who's spinning
What's song at the very end?
Feel it all around - Washed Out
That guy is the worst lmao

Sounds like Portland DJing is pushing your taste in music on people.
This show prepared us for the woke culture ?
