I ultimately think it's the yellow tones in it that wash me out & I've since learned my lesson, hahah
I had my color analysis done a while ago and it gave me the final push to get rid of everything cool toned because I wasn't really using any of it. Now I only keep a handful of stuff that actually matches my skin and it makes everything less messy and faster to get ready in the morning. Always fun to see a declutter one!

I love declutters, it's like a speed review of tons of products! I love NARS lip products and also Charlotte tilbury lipsticks, mostly reds, pinks and rusty tones
If you find yourself keeping an item simply in case you need to reference it in a future video, maybe you can either pull a clip of you applying it from a video you've already done or record a clip if you can't find one and save it in a "product graveyard" folder. That way you can just insert that clip if you need to reference it. Do that for as much of the makeup as you can that you don't really use but hold onto "just in case" and then you can get rid of it without regret :)

Thank you for sharing, this is a great fear for me, lol, each of my makeup category’s is supposed to be limited to a 4x6-ish drawer in my organizer- but if I really went around and collected my lippies from my car, desk, bags, coat pockets, etc it would no fit within my boundaries. I just love pretty things so much, and you have so many pretty things. As others have noted, I am very impressed with how well you know each and every product. Great job on your decluttering!

I’m just trying to pair down to a pretty small collection nowadays. It’s crazy how much over consumption crept into my life and now it’s like I’m reversing the damage and mind set. It’s hard

This was so inspiring for me on my lazy Sunday! I ended up getting rid of some lip products I had been holding on to for a gross amount of time. I went on a streak and got rid of so many old samples I convinced myself I might use one day lol. Thank you!!
Whenever I open a new product I label the product with the day’s date and when it expires (6mo, 12mo, etc) so I am reminded of what needs to go in the garbage/recycling over time! These days I have a handful of products I enjoy using and I still don’t finish most of them before they expire except my skincare and lip balm. It’s such a wake up call to the amount of waste made and money spent, and a good way to avoid potentially moldy and bacteria-laden products that have been around for too long!

an idea to make decluttering easier: have you heard of the clothing hack where you hang all your clothes up with the hangers backwards and then over the course of a year when you wear an item you turn the hanger around. then when the year is up, you look at all the backwards hangers that you went a full year without wearing and 99% of it can most likely be tossed. it'd be interesting to come up with a similar idea for your makeup, finding a way to keep track of what you have actually used within the last year. this would be really helpful when trying to declutter similar lip colors because you can see which formula you've actually been using and not just keeping because you like it in theory :)
The dots on the Maybelline lipsticks are just wax, it happens with that formula and I've seen it on the Mac lipsticks too. You should look into getting drawer organisers made for the alex drawers. I have a lipstick organiser in one of my drawers and I have all my lipsticks in it except the ones that are too tall the fit in the drawer standing up. I also unscrewed the runners so I could pull the drawer out more.

Lol this is so crazy to me because I have ONE lip product but I rarely use it lol 😝 I’ve never really been interested in lip products, if I had the money the category that would probably be the biggest would be blush or foundation 😍
Nice job! You have inspired me to do the same. I liked your categorization by formula and color and then your rationale for what you would eliminate. You may already know this, but Merit lip products and perhaps their other categories of make-up do expire more quickly than other brands. I had to throw away my Merit glosses within a year because they started to smell rancid.
