Thanks for this video. My C-250 was also blowing white smoke at startup. I used the parts link, and everything arrived within four days. The whole repair took under 30 minutes. I opted to install the O ring. After completion I ran the car for a few minutes to blow out and residual oil. Fired it up this morning, with no white smoke. a single puff of smoke from the tail pipe thats only there upon first startup is also a leaking nozzle/fuel injector because when you shut it off at night it drips all through the night into the cylinder untill the fuel rail pressure subsides, and makes a pool of gas on the piston top that turns into that puff of smoke when you start it up the next day
I have a 2013 c250, been overheating took it to the dealership they said it uses a metal head gasket so if that’s blown the head might be cracked which sucks as its the turbocharged one and only has 49000 miles, and hearing all different prices for used ones with way more miles, any suggestions?
Try taking your Mercedes to a local repair shop that is popular with Mercedes owners you can try Googling or checking the Mercedes forums for people that might know your area. For example in our city there is a place called star garage which we take our Mercedes vehicles to and the price is way cheaper than the dealership
Very good video, so thanks for the quality of your video images. I replaced the banjo bolt without any issues but the two supposedly OEM copper crush washers ($15 each through Parts Geeks -Yikes!) for sealing to the top of the housing I received as an "OEM Part # ending in 6513 are indeed too large and should have an ID of 10mm, not the 13mm size. Otherwise the washers won't seal the housing to banjo bolt properly. I just reused the old washer from the defective original banjo bolt and hopefully there will be no leaks using it; I have heard some people, including here, have just used one correct-size washer, Teflon tape, and no washer at all and have had success. Those 13mm washers, along with the rubber o-ring, appear to be used with the oil line itself and not the banjo bolt. That bargain FCP Euro kit mentioned from another viewer here also has just one washer and the rubber o-ring. There's a lot of confusion out there about all of this and Mercedes should make these issues clear! So there are actually two separate issues to deal with - 1, the easy banjo bolt replacement causing the start-up white smoke and 2, oil leakage leakage coming from the oil feed line above the turbo due to a deteriorated rubber o-ring at the block housing. The latter is a lot more difficult to deal with due to clearances and tolerances to remove/replace either the entire oil line or just the rubber gasket. One last thing - removing the lower rear heat shield 10 torx bolt requires that you remove the two bolts housing the dipstick feed tube so you can pull it out of the way to get enough clearance to get a socket in there to remove it completely should you need to remove the oil line itself. Hope this helps future "do it yourselfers".
Yes, I've seen other yt videos on how to replace the banjo bolt. They used 2 crushed washers, one on top and the other at the bottom of the banjo bolt. The rubber O-ring goes to the end of the oil feed line towards the engine block.
I'm doing mine this weekend. Another yt video shows the original banjo bolt has only 1 washer size m10 and the rubber O-ring goes to the end of the oil pipe towards the engine block. The TSB requires removing the turbo heat shield and not the exhaust manifold heat shield.
I'm curious if it would work on my E250. I have 2 of these screwes mounted on the same pipe. The pipe in the video stops where that screw is. Mine goes a little further and ends into another screw like this. I wonder if this thing would work on my car
** FCP Euro also sells the (Mercedes oil feed bolt kit) which includes the bolt, washer & O-ring for $16.95. Saves having to track down 3 different parts!
I see you said you need two “washers” but you only demonstrated using one “washer” and one o-ring, where does the other “washer” go? Also do you put the o-ring on the housing location first, then screw the bolt onto it along with the “washer”? Thanks.
It can be a bit of a head scratcher. The way banjo bolts work is there is supposed to be a washer on the bottom side of the banjo and on the top side of the banjo, where the banjo bolt tightens down on top of the banjo. The Mercedes TSB called for a washer and a gasket, although we have seen forum posts where service techs say you need 2 washers. But upon removing the old banjo bolt, we only saw one washer, it was on the old banjo bolt, but no second washer under the banjo fitting. So is the second washer needed or is the gasket needed? We chose to install the gasket, and likely either scenario would work. The real issue here is changing to that new banjo bolt with the flow restrictor. As long as you have a good seal, it likely doe snot matter whether you have the second washer, or the O-ring. We also don't know why Mercedes said to use an O-ring when you normally have 2 washers for the banjo fitting. At least the fix works as we implemented it.
carbuyingtipscom where does the o ring go? On the bottom of the banjo or top of the banjo in between the bolt and the washer? I put the o ring on the bottom of the banjo. Then put the washer on the bolt and screwed the bolt on with the o ring being on the bottom of the banjo. Or should I have screwed the bolt with washer onto the banjo with the o ring being on top of the banjo? Does it matter?
@@aidensmith6461 There's still some confusion about this. Usually on banjos with most cars, there is supposed to be a metal washer on either side of the banjo, and the service adviser at our local Mercedes dealer confirmed this with the E350. At the time we ordered all these parts, we saw from other owners that the parts purchased as part of their dealership repair included the O-ring, but no one knew where it goes, we've searched all the Mercedes forums, and no one has a clue. In this video we placed it at the bottom side of the banjo where it made the most sense, and there has been no leak at the banjo. I would suggest you try one metal washer on either side of the banjo, and hang onto the O-ring. If you see any leaks at the banjo, you can place the O-ring there, but we suspect you'll be just fine with a washer on the top and the bottom of the banjo. Look at parts stores online selling banjo bolts, you'll see their banjo bolt kits usually come with the 2 washers. Because of the nature of the repair and often times critical nature to Mercedes specs, we made sure we bought Mercedes only Banjo parts, but they are all sold separately. If we could ever get our hands on the TSB it might shed exact light on what to do with the O-Ring.
carbuyingtipscom yeah that’s what I ended up doing, put the o ring on the bottom and screwed the Bolt on with a washer on the bolt. Torqued it too much at first Bc I didn’t recognize the “click” then loosened but didn’t take th bolt off.. tightened it to 6nm once I figured out the “click” I still see smoke coming from the exhaust two days later after the bolt replacement. But don’t see any leaks with the banjo bolt. So I’ll give it some time. Thanks so much for replying!
I have a mercedes b200 turbo w245. With the sale problem but more white smoke comes out in the exhaust of my car than in your video. Is the head gasket?
Does the smoke stop within a minute or so of the engine starting, if not it might mean you have oil leaking inside the engine, turbo, or exhaust somewhere and the repair shop will have to find it.
9:50 actualy it installes on the other side of the oil line from the bolt. just did it today. you have to remove the whole pipe and to change it. not just the banjo bolt. unscrew the fitting to the block and there will be the ring
@@carbuying it actually true and I found this only because of you, I’ve searched that banjo bolt to buy at the catalog and by OEM scheme that ring indeed goes on the other side, I could mail the screenshot of don’t take my word on it. And in the video you said that we need two of the metal ring part with bunch of zeros, but we only need one of them, where you showed in the video. You did not show where you consider installing the second one either. Did you meant under the fitting between the block? I ordered two of those, just in case:)
Depending on where it is leaking, if it lands on any hot part of the engine you will get smoke. Usually visible leaks like this likely indicate a gasket that needs to be changed.
@@carbuying thanks for yours reply. Machnic could not find any damage to engine.l still it leaks like sprinkles I can see engine oil on the plastic cover under the engine. And when oil drops on hot part it smells.
Hi! Im suspecting i have the same issue. Do I HAVE to replace the banjo bolt asap, or is it safe to drive without changing it? Can it damage the engine/turbo if i dont replace it? Thanks in advance!
No harm driving it, this car was driven for a few months at least before anything was done. Any little oil just burns off in the morning when you start it.
Hi , I have CLS 350 CGI 2012 and I have some problem sometimes morning come out more smoke sometimes not much , what you think is the problem. And Engin oil come down but not much. Please if you have any idea what is wrong? Thanks
There's really no way to tell without seeing it in action, but if the engine oil is dripping off of where the turbo bolt plugs in, then it is likely that it needs this fix here in order to seal that leak. If not there is likely other spots where your turbo can leak. We had a $900 repair about a year later than this for other gaskets that leaked around the turbo that needed to be replaced.
Thank you for the video. I see you put a new banjo bolt and what happened to the two sealers. How do you put them cause I see there are two of them. I don't see that. Thank you
I have a 2009 C300 and it was giving white smoke out of the engine this morning. Looks like there's oil on the lines. Does this video work for that as well? Are the part numbers the same?
This is for a modification to the banjo bolt for the turbo. IF you have oil on the line you may have leak, which is not the same as the leak from this repair, which would be oil dripping inside, not outside on the lines.
I sincerely thank you, for sharing this great valuable information, I have a 2012 benz C250 4cyl. and thanks to your video I solved the problem, I already had a bad head, really thank you very much, God bless you.from LOUISIANA
Didn’t show where the rubber o ring went… it’s like 40$ for a tiny piece of rubber so I want to re use to old one with my new banjo bolt if possible. But I’m not sure where to look. Could be right there but I haven’t taken the heat shield off to check so if you can reply and let me know I’d appreciate it brother thanks. All other videos take the oil line off too. I don’t need that so your video is almost perfect lol
I came across your video and I'm interested if you know anything about my problem, it mixes my gasoline with engine oil, but it's c 200 w2005 2.0 petrol engine year 2015
2012 w204, had thick white smoke twice out of my exhaust at startup clewrly burning somthing.. trying to get a video not sure whats going on.. maybe you might know
I have this issue as well, but this morning I cold started and smoke came out of the hood for a second and the exhaust. Before I would get the high Fuel pressure pump but I deleted the code. Any input ?
Never knew had car channel....but now I do. Still under the weather w/ flu....but had to say hi, & my dad has a c230k sport w203 Mercedes. This worked for me - the initial puff of smoke on my car has now stopped after I changed this bolt. I ended up getting the bolt from my local Mercedes dealership at nearly half the price as online. Thank you very much for your video :)
SystemsLogix hey I’m trying to find the OEM banjo bolt part. Where did you find it exactly? I tried looking on the MBoem website but it gives me 300 other bolts when I look up “banjo bolt”. Thanks in advance!
Hi I’m about to buy a c200 with this issue and am worried it’s gonna cost me a whole bunch to fix. I’m a single mom and I don’t know anything about fixing cars do you think it’s too risky buying this car
Hi what could be the problem if changed it back to stock injector there is no smoke. When switched back to racing injector it’s throwing smoke only in the morning
Hi my C350 2011 cdi Automatic Mercedes is blowing white smoke with startup not only in the mornings, everytime and while driving. What can the problem be?
Hi Adri did you find any solution ? I have same problem on my C350 2010 smokes at startup and also when I switch off engine even when I Rev high when driving
If your car is the same 2013 C250, then Mercedes Turbo Charger Oil Line Gasket/Sealer Ring #: N000000006513 is only available on Ebay, that is where we found it. You can also try your local Mercedes dealer.

My car C200 Kompressor W203 also has white smokes in the cold early morning. When engine is warm up no more white smoke. What should I do please advise.
Have 2010 C180. Have the smoke from exhaust at startup. Had mechanic look at it, told him about the banjo bolt as I was doing research and came across this video and his inside mechanic at a Merc dealer feels it's the banjo and least expensive repair to offer a possible solution. Initially mechanic thought it was valve stem seal repair (ouch!) Question is I'm in the UK and wonder if same solution here. It's a w204 so hope its the same...
This fix was to address a flaw in the Mercedes turbo by putting an extra gasket in there period now if you have a similar leak in your turbo there may be a similar fix to this one as well if it's in the same spot.
@@carbuying mine didn't fit there. I didn't read the other comments that said you had to loosen the "pipe" (top piece) in order to fit it in between until after I had put mine in. I didn't use the gasket or a washer. Still fixed the issue for me.
My w212 have this same thing happen. But it flashes check engine light too.. once the engine reaches normal temp then the smoke gone.. turn off the engine and start again, check engine gone too.. usually happen if i leave the car for one day or more without start. any idea this is regarding banjo bolt or more than that?
There is no way of telling what the issue is without reading the code with an OBD2 reader to tell us what engine code triggered the check engine light. Do you have one?
TSBs are not recalls, they are just informational bulletins advising their repair people of an approved process to fix a technical issue that they have become aware of. I don't know what they would charge, but you can bet it will be very expensive.
it installes on the other side of the oil line from the bolt. you have to remove the whole pipe and to change it. not just the banjo bolt. unscrew the fitting to the block and there will be the ring
I had an issue with white smoke at startup as well same engine m271.860 on a w212 but my issue was different i had an oil leak from the spark seals under valve cover leaking into the spark plug chamber replaced the seals and it worked like a charm.
But still i am having trouble with my harmonic balancer it’s wobbling alot and making the tensioner vibrate as well my engine is shaking and idling poorly
Have you tried this Harmonic Balancer article? They also have videos on it here: www.mercedesmedic.com/mercedes-crankshaft-pulley-harmonic-balancer-diy/
I already checked the harmonic balancer runout mine was doing around 1.5 mm runout. according to the data from WIS the runout supposed to be 0.3mm, no check engine light but there is a fault of torque calculation error, this is due to the loss of power. Harmonic balancer wobble makes it hard for ecm to compensate for torque lost. I have to get replaced asap
Having a m271 evo engine you have to keep an eye for oil leaks from oil cooler and gaskets, banjo bolt as well as intake gaskets, and also one of the common failures are high pressure fuel pump and esl lock, harmonic balancer is also a common failure for this engine after a 6 or 7 years you should get it checked out before it destroys the front engine main seal and main bearings.
I bought a nissan maxima 2006 from a mechanic and it smokes when starts in morning but the mechanic said I need to just retire the vehical but it runs really great please help me 😢😢😢😢
I'm sorry but i disagree 100% with the how and why, but agree with the replacement. On cold starts, oil pressure is a lot higher than the turbine rings can handle. That's a restrictor to keep high viscosity /cold oil from reaching high pressures inside the turbo core and thus leaking to the exhaust cover and downpipe. Both the cold oil + cold blowby have this joint effect. P.S. Leaks outside the banjo don't go into the exhaust and can only be seen smoking at high temperatures much much later! (i read comments about it)
The whole oil line needs to be removed. The 2 washers go on either side of the banjo fitting on the lower end of the line with the new bolt through it. The rubber O-ring seal goes on the upper end of the line where it connects to the engine. Don't skip any of the seals and don't use Teflon tape recommended elsewhere.
carbuyingtipscom yeah I fixed it but decided to take it with the mechanic I didn’t know what he did but he fixed I will check that part tomorrow just to see if he replace it or not 👍
I don't know on the Swift but in my kia picanto it was the pcv valve, but it was nothing like it's shown here in this video, it was a lot of white smoke and the car would lose power. Took to three different mechanics, in Italy where I lived, all three said the same thing, this engine is gone, buy another engine. The last mechanic I went to found an engine, charged me 2.5k euros for the engine and work replacing, kept my old engine, and a few months later, same problem. After much research I found information about the PCV valve, bought a new one for about 5 euros, replaced it in 10 minutes, it has been four years, never had a problem with the car again...
Very informational video! I have a valve cover gasket job + tuneup job I need to do because I was quoted $760!! I do most of my work myself I love oil changes as they are easy. I only wish you were in the same county as me hahah
@@carbuying I have been watching instructional videos with my Dad for yrs. And I have to say, by far this was so straight forward and to the point. You dont have cheesy music or even an annoying voice. You had our full on attention . Giving us the part # and where you bought them from. Super helpful. I already bought these pieces because I too am having the same issues . My smoke thats blowing out is blue and not white.
Some people are very particular about this. Try loosening a nut with an adjustable wrench flipped the "wrong" direction, and people will come out of the woodwork to pounce on you.
Took 30 points off out 100 after you said that’s a 1/2 inch head bolt! There is no standard on a German car! That’s actually a 13mm! Meaning you don’t have that much experience working on cars! Otherwise great! Thanks
Google will tell you 13 mm is Equal to 1/2 inch smart ass. Maybe he isnt a Die Hard Gear head which is probably why he didnt say 13mm in the first place. But he wasnt wrong.
I'm so thankful to find this information. But this guy doesn't know how to use a torque wrench. I felt sorry for that poor bolt as he kept turning past the click repeatedly. He's lucky he didn't ring it off.
Someone needs a lesson in how to use a torque wrench !! 6 nm ? one click and and a bit more then 2nd click and a bit more. you have Probably just twisted the banjo bolt. Thus partially blocking the already reduced hole. Don’t even get me started on the stupid head gasket comment
You sound really cocky as though you think you know the answer here. A blown head gasket is one of at least 4 different causes, but we already know the cause on this car was the Banjo Bolt seal, which is one of the other possible causes. If people listen to you, they'll be making an expensive engine repair for no good reason.
Do you even understand how the turbo works on the car? I have the same exact car and I’ve taken the whole engine apart and put it back together so I think I know what I’m talking about. I was just trying to help before you get coolant mixing with your oil and then it’s game over.
@@Veaker Clearly you don't understand how the turbo works, and you're an OCD troll who just can't admit you're wrong. You never paid attention to the video. Mercedes issued a Technical Service Bulletin covering this exact failure, and it's registered with NHTSA. People should trust Mercedes engineers over you who changed your own oil a couple of times. You forgot to mention we showed that our turbo repair solved the problem in the end, no more white smoke, because that doe snot support your fake news trolling. You just keep digging a deeper grave for yourself because you can't let it go. Why don't you make your own video on how to change the head gasket to solve the problem.
@@carbuying I don't understand how this fixes the smoke issue. General workings of the turbo, the oil doesnt enter the exhaust or inlet sides of the turbo as they are 3 separate parts ( except for when excessive wear has taken place and some residual oil can ) can you explain how this fixes the problem please? The one way valve would be more for start up to make sure no delay in oil pressure which can cause premature bearing failure.
Hello to all and for you Carbuying thank you for this amazing tutorial, i just have a question if you can help or somebody in the comments can, I will appreciate, can you please tell me where the A0239978548 part goes installed? Thank you very much.
there are numerous reason a car can blow white smoke continuously, it can be piston rings, it could be your main engine gasket needs to be replaced, it could be a leak of oil onto a hot part of the, or a turbo leak. Best to let the pros deal with this one.

Yes 2 washers 1 is upside the turbo pipe and 1 is downside of turbo pipe
I have a mercedes b200 turbo w245. With the sale problem but more white smoke comes out in the exhaust of my car than in your video. Is the head gasket?
Does the smoke stop within a minute or so of the engine starting, if not it might mean you have oil leaking inside the engine, turbo, or exhaust somewhere and the repair shop will have to find it.
9:50 actualy it installes on the other side of the oil line from the bolt. just did it today. you have to remove the whole pipe and to change it. not just the banjo bolt. unscrew the fitting to the block and there will be the ring
There's still debate on the forums even, on which side it's supposed to go on.
I ordered two of those, just in case:)
hi, is this also valid for w204 250 cdi diesel engine?
My car engine oil leaks some time in the from of drops and Leave white smoke when I start in morning.
Please give me you value answer.
Kind regards
Depending on where it is leaking, if it lands on any hot part of the engine you will get smoke. Usually visible leaks like this likely indicate a gasket that needs to be changed.
@@carbuying thanks for yours reply.
Machnic could not find any damage to engine.l still it leaks like sprinkles
I can see engine oil on the plastic cover under the engine.
Any little oil just burns off in the morning when you start it.
carbuyingtipscom Understood, thanks!
Hi ,
I have CLS 350 CGI 2012 and I have some problem sometimes morning come out more smoke sometimes not much , what you think is the problem.
One question when did you remove this bolt came out a lot of oil or I don’t have to worry about it?
Only a few drops of oil came out.
Just a little oil came out when I did the repair
Thank you for the video. I see you put a new banjo bolt and what happened to the two sealers. How do you put them cause I see there are two of them. I don't see that. Thank you
It was hard to show due to the angle
I have a 2009 C300 and it was giving white smoke out of the engine this morning. Looks like there's oil on the lines. Does this video work for that as well? Are the part numbers the same?
This is for a modification to the banjo bolt for the turbo. IF you have oil on the line you may have leak, which is not the same as the leak from this repair, which would be oil dripping inside, not outside on the lines.
@@carbuying any solution on that issue….having the same one with my 2010 c300

Will this fix work for a E250 w212?
I sincerely thank you, for sharing this great valuable information, I have a 2012 benz C250 4cyl. and thanks to your video I solved the problem, I already had a bad head, really thank you very much, God bless you.from LOUISIANA

Insanely informative with the references to all the part numbers. Will keep this in mind if I ever need to do this on my beautiful w204
Glad it was helpful!
Having the same issue now, would the same part work for the c200 2012?
Didn’t show where the rubber o ring went… it’s like 40$ for a tiny piece of rubber so I want to re use to old one with my new banjo bolt if possible. But I’m not sure where to look. Could be right there but I haven’t taken the heat shield off to check so if you can reply and let me know I’d appreciate it brother thanks. All other videos take the oil line off too. I don’t need that so your video is almost perfect lol

Any input ?
Could be you have a leak onto the manifold, or maybe your main gasket seal is leaking. Smoke under the hood could mean many different issues.

Still under the weather w/ flu....but had to say hi, & my dad has a c230k sport w203 Mercedes. I’m always fixing that thing for him....as something usually ends up “breaking”😉.

It should be if it is a W204.

Most turbo engines from most manufacturers have this problem, but it's not the end of the world, and it can be fixed.
It's no need to replace the valve gaskets when have white smoke?
This was an issue of oil leaking on one part of the engine, not a valve issue
Hi what could be the problem if changed it back to stock injector there is no smoke. When switched back to racing injector it’s throwing smoke only in the morning
Hi my C350 2011 cdi Automatic Mercedes is blowing white smoke with startup not only in the mornings, everytime and while driving. What can the problem be?
Hi Adri did you find any solution ? I have same problem on my C350 2010 smokes at startup and also when I switch off engine even when I Rev high when driving
I have the same problem when i turn on or when i stopped the car for more then 3 hours
It the banjo bolt problem ??
I can’t seem to find the turbo charger oil line Gasket/Sealer ring.. could you tag the link ? Pls ?
If your car is the same 2013 C250, then Mercedes Turbo Charger Oil Line Gasket/Sealer Ring #: N000000006513 is only available on Ebay, that is where we found it. You can also try your local Mercedes dealer.

My car C200 Kompressor W203 also has white smokes in the cold early morning. When engine is warm up no more white smoke. What should I do please advise.
The answer to your problem is in the video, did you watch the video?
Have 2010 C180. Have the smoke from exhaust at startup. Had mechanic look at it, told him about the banjo bolt as I was doing research and came across this video and his inside mechanic at a Merc dealer feels it's the banjo and least expensive repair to offer a possible solution. Initially mechanic thought it was valve stem seal repair (ouch!) Question is I'm in the UK and wonder if same solution here. It's a w204 so hope its the same...
Hello did you find out what it was?
I replaced my intake manifold after my c300 2009 was bring white smoke and engine making a clinging sound..please help
This applies also in 1.8 kompressor 184 hp ?
this should apply to any car with a turbo
does this also apply to diesel engines?
Would this apply to a Toyota Camry?
This fix was to address a flaw in the Mercedes turbo by putting an extra gasket in there period now if you have a similar leak in your turbo there may be a similar fix to this one as well if it's in the same spot.
it's not clear where the gasket goes... does it go in between the top hole and the oil line?
We put it against the bottom
@@carbuying mine didn't fit there. I didn't read the other comments that said you had to loosen the "pipe" (top piece) in order to fit it in between until after I had put mine in. I didn't use the gasket or a washer. Still fixed the issue for me.
Does this apply to a 2012 c300 4matic? W204?
It should apply to most cars with a turbo
My w212 have this same thing happen. But it flashes check engine light too.. once the engine reaches normal temp then the smoke gone.. turn off the engine and start again, check engine gone too.. usually happen if i leave the car for one day or more without start. any idea this is regarding banjo bolt or more than that?
There is no way of telling what the issue is without reading the code with an OBD2 reader to tell us what engine code triggered the check engine light. Do you have one?
I have slk55 r171. It’s coming smoke what can i do
Is your car a turbo engine? IF so you'll do similar to what we did here
No its n/a. Slk55
Thanks for the video! The technical service bulletin, will the Mercedes dealer fix it for free if I take my car to them (like a recall)?
TSBs are not recalls, they are just informational bulletins advising their repair people of an approved process to fix a technical issue that they have become aware of. I don't know what they would charge, but you can bet it will be very expensive.
Not on a TSB
Thanks for the tip. My car has the same defect and I already bought the parts. I will try to make this repair myself. Then I speak the result.
Have you made your repair yet? How did it wok out for you?
Ye did it work?

I am still having trouble understanding where to place the O-ring? could you help me with that, please? Thank you
We placed it under the banjo and in between the banjo and the engine block.
it installes on the other side of the oil line from the bolt. you have to remove the whole pipe and to change it. not just the banjo bolt. unscrew the fitting to the block and there will be the ring

@@carbuying Thank you!!
Worked for my 2013 C250!
Yeah man!
My GL450 2008 emits white smoke even while in motion. What could be the problem?
While running? This could mean you constantly have a small oil leak, usually from the main engine gasket seal, or cylinders.
What is the banjo bolt code for e250?
E250 2012
You'll have to get that from the dealer parts department, they will look it up for you.
carbuyingtipscom alright thanks!
Yes, your scenario is one af about 6 reasons we see white smoke at startup. Glad you got it fixed.
Good video
In addition this turbo line oil leak also big problem
I sealed o ring with sealing teflon tape
Thanks from Korea
Thanks for sharing
Could it be because it’s cold ?
Great video, Jeff!
Thanks for watching Mr Khan, Glad you think so!
It blows smoke because it’s leaking oil or coolant?
I bought a nissan maxima 2006 from a mechanic and it smokes when starts in morning but the mechanic said I need to just retire the vehical but it runs really great please help me 😢😢😢😢
My 2018 Audi s3 is doing that but running fine
I'm sorry but i disagree 100% with the how and why, but agree with the replacement.
On cold starts, oil pressure is a lot higher than the turbine rings can handle. That's a restrictor to keep high viscosity /cold oil from reaching high pressures inside the turbo core and thus leaking to the exhaust cover and downpipe.
Both the cold oil + cold blowby have this joint effect.
P.S. Leaks outside the banjo don't go into the exhaust and can only be seen smoking at high temperatures much much later! (i read comments about it)
Thanks for super instruction you are best ,will try my smoke
As a recon tech. Thank you so much!
Thnx.. fixed my problem ..

Its not clear, where does the washer and seal goes to,
The whole oil line needs to be removed. The 2 washers go on either side of the banjo fitting on the lower end of the line with the new bolt through it. The rubber O-ring seal goes on the upper end of the line where it connects to the engine. Don't skip any of the seals and don't use Teflon tape recommended elsewhere.
You didn’t show where to put the little gasket?
It goes in between the banjo and the engine block
I have this problem with my Mercedes c250 but my car blows a lot more white smoke thanks I will try to do the same way you did
Did you do your repair yet and was it successful?
carbuyingtipscom yeah I fixed it but decided to take it with the mechanic I didn’t know what he did but he fixed I will check that part tomorrow just to see if he replace it or not 👍
Wonder if it's a PCV valve if someone has a Swift 🤔
@@bobbuilder5576 I actually got a valve job done, replaced valve stems, seals and it's smoking a lot lesser now, yet to replace the pcv valve though

Thanks for this video - just an FYI, all German cars are metric, so that "half-inch" socket you used should have been a 13mm... just sayin'

You used the torque wrench incorrectly. At the first click and second click you stop tightening.
Orin Mangar stop being butthurt on minor things
In the morning white smoke was from condensation because it's cold in the morning.
So now you know another reason for white smoke in the morning.
OK!!!

Yup, that's why we prefer torque in ft-lbs not in fig newtons! LOL
Description says c250 w204 engine hahah i think this is M271 engine, Mercedes never built w204 engine
LOL, Ha Ha you are wrong this is a W204 engine, even says it on window sticker
its called a blown head gasket lmao

Is it the same thing with c300 2008
Hello I have a 2002 s55 amg..it’s blowing white smoke but it’s at anytime
there are numerous reason a car can blow white smoke continuously, it can be piston rings, it could be your main engine gasket needs to be replaced, it could be a leak of oil onto a hot part of the, or a turbo leak. Best to let the pros deal with this one.
