    ABS unavailable Mercedes
Remember, even though you're getting the abs currently unavailable Mercedes light, the repair steps we show you here on this Mercedes (W204) C250, will still apply if you have an abs unavailable ford or if your abs check engine light stays on with other brands of cars like Toyota, Ford, Honda, etc. Once your abs check engine light turns on and stays on, you need to get an OBDII reader scan tool to plug into your OBDII connector under your driver's side dashboard and read out the check engine light codes. The scanner talks to your car's computer ECU and reads out the check engine fault codes that set off the check engine light to begin with.
    C0034 engine code
Once you read out the code the abs light fix is as simple as determining what the engine fault code is telling us. In this video the C0034 engine code simply means that the front right ABS wheel speed sensor is out. This is a sensor that plugs onto the inside hub of the wheel, supplying wheel speed to the car's computer. When this ABS brakes sensor fails, the system cannot figure out how to best apply the ABS brakes, so it turns on the abs check engine light, and gives up, saying that ABS is unavailable. Now you have to fix the error message and clear that C0034 code root cause for good.
    ABS currently unavailable Mercedes
You can also get the condition where your ABS light stays on Toyota Camry models, and you can get abs light stays on Honda accord vehicles as well.

Four hours! Holy cow! I did mine in about 45 minutes. As you say, a scan too is essential. I have an iCarsoft MB II and an iCarsoft MB V3.0 for both of my Mercedes. The usually fit in one of the storage compartments of the car. For a few more bucks, the MB V3.0 is a better deal. Much faster and more features than the MB II.

My 2013 4matic C300 did not have the two wires at the speed sensor/firewall connector but just the one... this video saved me hassle and $$$!! $60 for Genuine MB part and 2 hours of labor.. Also, all the warning lights were still on after replacing the sensor but as soon as I put car in motion (drove car) the sensor sent proper signal to computer and lights went off!! If the problem returned, then it might mean it's time to replace the sensor, and not just try to clear it. We have found with the ABS sensors that it's also best to change left side and right side when you do it.

You should ALWAYS use jack stands when working on a raised car. Those flimsy crank jacks can fail and crush whenever is under the car. If you don't have a jack stand, you shouldn't be working on your car. At the very least, put the removed wheel under the car just in case the car falls.

    • @carbuying

That coffee cup alert comes on when you've been on the highway for about an hour, and bugs the heck out of you every 20 minutes or so with 4 loud beeps to get your attention to prevent highway hypnosis, and it reminds to stay alert, I.e., like a cup of coffee.

I had this problem with the right rear sensor on my own W204. I replaced the sensor but it didn't fix the problem (most of the time is IS the sensor that is faulty). I had to replace the pickup ring which had delaminated. I had to separate the driveshaft from the hub assembly and I was able to replace the pickup ring without having to remove the driveshaft from the rear differential. The ESP and ABS light came back and I found some remants of the old pickup ring I didn't notice when I changed the ring and it has been fine ever since.

Got mine fixed last week as the fault kept on coming back every week.
It ended up being the wheel bearing and speed sensor that needed replacing.
Maybe you should take it to a specialist who has a computer to hook up to your OBD port.
Only cost me under £300 but was peace of mind I got it done

Hi there - love your vid. I have a question regarding an engine check light and icarsoft MBV3.0 I have just replaced both front wheel bearings on my W211 E200K 2007. I am getting a fault code " Front Right rpm sensor, GAP INVALID " on my icarsoft MB V3.0 scanner.💣
I believe that the comment Gap means that the oil seal that I used is not being read by the sensors - I purchase a seal from a very reliable bearing wholesaler who checked the oem part number of the seal to ensure it was a perfect fit into the hub - which it was. I have also been reading that unless you used a genuine Mercedes part it will bring up this error. I have not yet changed the sensors as they were functioning perfectly before I changed the bearings. Can you help with any advice about the seals and if you have ahad any problems using non mercedes seals? I am in Australia Cheerz and look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards Stuart.

I have an 04 G Wagon AMG55, great car and I was always hesitant in buying a used Merc, but they are really easy to work on, I had this same problem with the ABS light coming on, I replaced the stop lamp switch and tried the steering wheel calibration but nothing would fix it. I was ready to take it to the dealer, the fault code still read stop lamp switch. Then I checked the brake lights, my third brake light was out, started checking the fuses and sure enough one 5 amp fuse was blown, I think the switch went bad and caused the fuse to blow which caused the ABS light to come on. Just an FYI guys. I got lucky!

Rodrigo, yes this does work, ours works, unless they changed it but doubtful. Yes, we just fixed another car Mercedes 2013 C250 W204 version with the same issue this week, read out both left and right wheel front fault codes. Once we changed both wheel ABS sensors, the alert lights all shut off on their own after driving about 100 feet. Don't panic when you start the car and the lights are still on, they will go back off after a bit of driving. No reset of any engine codes will be necessary luckily.

Have you tried using an ODB2 reader to reset the code in the engine? It could be that that you car is not automatically resetting the code when the condition disappears, or maybe there is an electrical issue triggering this, like maybe a bad fuse somewhere. We have seen where one bad fuse unrelated to this can cause a false positive. You should also try Club Lexus Forums, and ask there, very knowledgeable people there, who might have seen this issue. Hi Mario, how far have you driven the car? With our other car, the 2013 Mercedes C250 last week, we had to replace both front sensors, and it took a few hundred feet down the road for lights to go away on their own. Maybe try to drive it for a day see if it goes away on it's own. Also might try resetting the error code, maybe the RT needs to reset it rather than going away automatically. Hopefully there was no problem in your wiring harness. Try exercising the steering wheel all the way left and all the way right, drive around the blocks a few times. There’s one issue that you didn’t distinguish that I think is worth mentioning, since the beginning of your video mentioned other ways to possibly correct the issue. I have the same car and if you get the ABS, ESP inoperable message WITHOUT the check engine light on, then you probably need to just go left to right lock a few times and the steering angle sensor should reset. If you have the ABS/ESP message with the check engine light, then you’ll need to use your scanner, and perhaps it’s one of your abs wheel sensors that need replacement. But if the check engine light is NOT on and you only have the ABS/ESP inoperable message, it’s most likely something simple that is even less stressful and worrisome. I also once got this message when I changed my power steering fluid. But it soon went away.

@@carbuying Right, I’m not judging that. Just wanted to point out that there’s a distinction on whether the check engine is on or not, when the ABS/ESP message is present. Knowing that upfront can make a big difference in understanding the issue.
