They really are, the best bit is the "expansions" or "add ons" are currently being made as the book itself has only come out this year. so it's going to just expand more and more. Another one I'm going to talk about is the Four Against Darkness its a little bit more simpler then this but just as good. Both do go in-depth in their own ways.
thanks for the video! As others have commented here, when attacked by an ability that is marked as Magical you always test Magic Resistance first, aside form whatever else the enemy action tells you to do.
Hey Alex, you helped me with a question on twitter the other day, I have another question please ! For fumbled defence, people have said to roll on the fumble table, but the text on that list mostly if not completely refer to attacking, whats the official thing to do for fumbled defence rolls, for player and enemies 🤔
@@BookWyrm1060 I just got a response from Alex about this(what an awesome dude he is!), you dont roll on fumble table, if you roll a fumble, what happens is, if the opponent had missed his combat roll, it would be considered a hit instead and if his combat roll was already a success, it would be classed as a critical hit for them😁
If the Overseers attack is magical, should you not roll for magical resistance first? Im just on my first play through and thats how i play it, plus I roll D6 first to see what the enemy does, not sure if it matters though 😊
probably tbh lol I'm completely new to these types of things and its all a learning curve :) i only rolled on the magical table when it said I should otherwise it was dodge skills it said, so i just followed it on that :) I normally do it as -roll to attack (to see it it does) -defence roll if possible or specified roll if stated aka dodge ect. -where it hits -damage until the encounter is all done :) Though i think next time its magical i'll probably do it the way you said lol How is your playthrough going? where did you put your stats/ skills ?
@@BookWyrm1060 Well my first play through actually ended Sunday, to a Overseer, I definitely wasnt healed up enough to enter his lair lol As for stats, I literally rolled EVERYTHING random, just to see what I got, kinda ended up a mish mash of all stats, but I'm going to add the optional rules that come in the 1st Zine, and start as a commoner, but this time picking what stats i would like, not sure what yet, starting it tonight! Also, I think you rolled double on perception, you should put a mark on yr sheet so you can level up that stat 😎
@@GrungefolkBoy2010 Thank you for the help! and I did roll a double - good catch! i like the idea that you rolled everything you possible could tbh, sometimes having a mixed bag is fun. I have been eyeing the first zine tbh, how did it go with your overseer?
Im enjoying these books.they are a lot more involved than the ff books i used to read
