    I've owned the DCT Crosstourer VFR1200X for the last 6 months (I think you have it Stateside sometime this year). Great system. I'm never using anything else. The DCT on the new Africa Twin has gyroscopes or inclinometer so knows to downshift down slopes etc. It's the future 👍

      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Motorbiker Ohhhhh, very nice!!!! That VFR is sweet! It's a bit costly for me but would go for it in a minute if I could! How cool for you! I like the Africa Twin but not sure I should look at adventure type bikes??? It might be giving up comfort for riding off-road??? Dunno...

      +Twistygrip KLR I know...going auto on a bike would be strange for me, too. I think it's a huge help for those with weakness in their hands or just don't want to think about it.

    I learned to ride (very recently) on a 2021 Yamaha Zuma 125; which requires a motorcycle license, tag, and insurance. It is twist 'n' go with a CVT transmission. I think for people riding scooters, this is a great way to ease into a motorcycle. I am looking at one now.

    A Manual Clutch Sucks in City traffic, I have ridden Motorcycles for over 50 years and would Love to have one of these Auto machines.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely agree with you on that. It is so convenient to not work the clutch in traffic. I don't know where you live, but here in San Diego, dealing with stop-and-go traffic really does suck.

    Interesting to hear your impressions of the DCT system, particularly coming from a sport bike background. It does add about 10kg to the weight of the standard manual version, but I can see that the trade-off may be worth it.
    Buying a new bike is exciting but can be kind of stressful at the same time - you never know if your choice will really suit until you've ridden it for a fair number of miles.
    Great that you got back what you paid for the Ninja, though. Good luck with the search for the next one!

    • @WheelsNotHeels

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm 5'9" and the seat height is about 28.5". It's very doable and not as low as a Shadow which, I think is 25". Hope that helps.

    • @kickinitwithmydawg
      @kickinitwithmydawg 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks. I'm 5'6". I agree with you. I had a Honda shadow 750 and I recently tried sitting on this bike and it seems higher.
      I bought the CTX700 DCT ABS anyways last weekend because it can be lowered an inch or so in the front and back with adjustable links. We'll see how that works out. Thanks for responding. :)

    Take care and ride safe !!
    PD: I am tempted to let my DIAVEL go.....and replace it with a MV AGUSTA Dragster, to share garage space with the Multistrada and the CBR circuit bike......just thinking about it. Not decided yet.

    Nice Vid Wheels, be careful though at this rate you'll be coming over to the darkside, lol, you'll have a full blown cruiser before you know it, lol, I'm pretty surprised you sold the Ninja but I'm sure whatever takes it's place you'll, love, RSS.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Skeggy Cruiser I know...I just haven't been able to handle using a clutch lever lately so this might be the answer for me as well as him. The Ninja was awesome but it was too hard on me...every bump was torture, it was extremely jerky, and no way to add bags. :(

  • @RenchRanch
    @RenchRanch 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I guess that I didn't get if this bike was for your or your husband. Honda has come a long way since the Honda-matic's of the 80's. The CTX700 DCT ABS is a fine bike for all around riding and touring. We do get the CTX700N model here in the USA which has less of a front fairing & a bit cheaper and also the NC700X which is a bit more "adventure bike" styled.
    All of them can be bought with DCT and ABS. That saddle height would probably be too tall on the NC700X. I am 6ft and it was a pain to get on / off the NC700X. Twisted Throttle has lowering links for that model so it can be lowered more. A quick search shows that the CTX700 (and N version) also has lowering links though it's fairly low to begin with. It's a fine bike that will be very nice to tour the vast expanses of roads you have out on your side of the country! And you can't beat a Honda for reliability and cost of ownership. They just make a fine bike. Probably tons of luggage / saddle bag options for touring too other than the factory hard bags. I do know Honda makes color matched side panels with is nice.
    As for getting used to no clutch, floor boards, etc.. That stuff usually doesn't take too long to feel natural. On my new Indian Scout Sixty, I keep putting my feet back all the time looking for the pegs because the Scout has forward controls! If there wasn't a need for the clutches feature, an Indian Scout has an extremely low saddle height and is very comfortable to ride. Could be an option one day but it's certainly more money that a Honda. Would certainly be a good excuse for a test ride! ;-)
    Probably the biggest up side to any bike when traveling & touring is getting it serviced. Other than Harley dealers, IMO Honda probably has the best dealer network in the USA to get parts & service if needed on the road. I like the CTX700. As far as I am concerned, whatever bike keeps you on the road and happy riding motorcycles is the right bike. Even if that is one day a trike, you'll still get a wave from me! Keep the Wheels rolling there Heels! Cheers!
    Mike

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Michael Rench Yeah, it's my husband's bike...he is starting to have problems with his hands and needed something less straining. I have considered the NC700X but really don't want to deal with how high up it is. I like the Scout but I don't like the price. lol...not that I'm trying to buy a cheap bike but, yeah, Honda quality is definitely there. Thanks for the tips and great comments!

    As you mentioned, this would be a fantastic option for those that may
    suffer from health issues that make shifting too difficult. I have a
    Suzuki SFV650 (Gladius) that I like much better than the Ninja 650 I
    took out for a test ride. Suzuki is releasing a newer and improved
    version of it now, and they have returned to the original "SV650" name
    for it. This bike is easy to mod into whatever kind of riding you want
    it for. And it's never let me down once; absolutely trouble free. I'm
    going in the "Sport-Touring" direction with mine. I've got a good
    windscreen on it, heated grips and other nice things, now all it needs
    is a Corbin seat and some hard-case luggage. And by the way, there are
    quite a few luggage options available for this bike. I don't want a big
    heavy bike, so for me, this is ideal.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Motorcycle Extremist Awesome...I have seen this bike around and it sounds like a really nice option. I just need something that doesn't vibrate the hell out of me and isn't so twitchy, jerky or abrupt and can hold bags, like you mentioned. I will look into this. I think I've only seen the SFV not the SV, though.

    • @MotorcycleExtremist
      @MotorcycleExtremist 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      WheelsNotHeels
      I'm not sure when the new SV650 will be available. It's billed as a 2017 model, so maybe later in the year. This new one has "low-rpm assist", which I think you will be interested in. Some good info here,
      www.sportrider.com/2016-suzuki-sv650-first-look

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Motorcycle Extremist I like it! Sat on one today. So, do you have a windscreen on yours? Does it vibrate like the Ninja? Would I have to lean over or do the handlebars come back towards you?

    • @MotorcycleExtremist
      @MotorcycleExtremist 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      WheelsNotHeels
      I've ridden the Ninja 650 a few times. My SFV650 is smoother and just overall better in every way. The seating position is very upright. I have a slight lean and that's it. I do have a windscreen on it, and I would not ride without it. It is day and night, and takes most of the pressure off of my body. I think you should ride one and see what you think. And if you like it at all, and you can afford it, I'd try and wait for the new SV650 that's on it's way. My only real complaint is with the seat being terrible uncomfortable, especially in the "man parts" department, but women don't seem to have much trouble with it. Corbin makes a nice seat for it, and I'll get one as soon as I can. I've added heated grips, an auto chain oiler, the windscreen as I mentioned, I'm in the process of doing some brake upgrades, and I have a high-end alarm system on it. I'm working on trying to get some hard luggage installed soon. So basically I'm turning this bike into a great little sport-tourer. Over 22,000 miles, and not a single issue with this bike. I absolutely love it!

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Motorcycle Extremist It's a bit pricey and the one they had was a 2014. I dunno...I love the looks of it but they don't allow test rides. My son has a GSXR 750 and has no problems. I'd love to wait for the 2017 but I have no bike right now & I'm feeling a bit down about the whole thing. Thanks for all the info!

    After reading some of the comments, All I have to say is ITS NOT AN AUTOMATIC!!! its DCT like in some high end cars. Still can shift if you care to. Combined with ABS brakes provides awesome safety and convenience. Don't listen to people who hate on it or say it's for beginners and the handicapped. Its my bike! I commute to work and in heavy traffic. My left hand would go bad if I had to use the clutch lever constantly. New technology is scary for some folks I guess.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +HiViz Steph Yeah, you either love it or hate it...some diehard bikers resist the new technology. But it really is a great bike and my hb loves riding it. Having the auto in heavy traffic has helped him so much!! Thanks for chiming in, Steph...appreciate it!!

    Thank you for posting this Video; I JUST passed my safety course and I will get my Motorcycle licence in a few days. I am seriously considering this bike.....the look is not too crazy but it's a Honda and I LOVE the automatic feature. Do you think this bike is good for a rider with no experience?

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats on getting your license! My hb bought this bike, slightly used, after having a Harley, a Concours and several other bikes over the years. Having the DCT is a real benefit for him as his hands are starting to get arthritic and tire easily. He loves this bike as it is easy to maneuver, lightweight, great gas mileage and that big fairing keeps the wind off of him. Has had no problems with it so far. If you can, I would test ride several bikes and go to the bike forums to read what kinds of issues riders may have with their bikes. Having no experience, you might want to do lots of research if you haven't already, ask lots of questions, figure out what your needs will be for a bike, go to dealerships & sit on lots of bikes. Good luck & hope this helps!

    Don't like the auto bikes. Seems to detract from the pure essence of motorcycling. What about the Honda NC750X DCT wheels, that appears to be a do everything bike. Nice easy going upright bike with the auto transmission, also available in manual. Fuel tank under the seat, so low centre of gravity. And a massive storage space for a full face helmet where the fake fuel tank is.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Hategplus crevis Thanks for the honest opinion. This is actually my hb's bike and he does get arthritis in his hands so this has been a huge help for him. We don't get the 750X in the States, but we do get the 700X and I have test ridden it and finally got one (the DCT) because I have similar issues. Never thought I'd go auto but it has really given me a whole new way to enjoy riding and I like the smooth shifting. With the Sport modes, it's even better...will do a vid soon on it. Btw, this has the same engine as the CTX...they're not a kick in the pants but are still a whole lotta fun!

    • @4crevis
      @4crevis 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +WheelsNotHeels Oh that's great, you got one. They do seem like a nice easy going bike. Yeah i had heard that the 750X wasn't that popular in the States or that it was hard to get hold of. I get arthritis in my back so that would be the bike for me if i ever got another one because of it's upright riding position. As you say they're probably not a kick in the pants but they do have a lot of low down torque. I look forward to seeing your video on the 700X. Great choice. Sorry for my honest opinion in the first comment, never actually tried an auto bike before... so guess i need to keep my trap shut until i actually try one. Ha ha.

    I so much prefer test rides by "real" people, just giving their honest reactions to the bike - better than the "expert" ones IMO.
    No clutch would freak me out, guess it's just a big thing to do without.
    From discussions we've had, I'm glad you sold the Ninja, as it really turned out not to be the right bike for you.
    Definitely a cruiser that CTX...

      +CaptainCranky I'm the same. Seems like some of those experts only tell you the good stuff and none of the bad stuff or the things we encounter on every ride...real, live situations, like traffic, touring, etc. It was def weird to not have a clutch; the bike was smooth, though, and pretty comfy.......but I was just a bit, um, bored (?) with it. Could've toured all day on it, though. lol

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Britex3186 Well, it was a combination of things. We don't have many places that allow test rides here so I didn't realize the huge amount of vibration the bike would have, the abrupt, twitchy & jerkiness when throttling off & on, and that you can't put bags on it unless you drill holes & make it like the European version. I'm at that point where I want more protection from the wind, too, because I'm tall & even with a big windscreen, I was always fighting the wind...that is fatiguing on a long trip.

    How fast do you feel this bike could comfortably run for freeways speeds for hours at a time? I'm a 61 year old male, much shorter than average, and I'm looking for a low bike that doesn't look like the typical V-twins I ridden forever, but I do Iron Butt rides which require long stretches of freeway. Great video, thanks!

      Not sure about going for hours at a time; however, you could ride at 75 or 80 for quite awhile. The seat is very comfortable...that's what the "C" stands for in CTX. It's a very easy bike to ride, low to the ground, and low center of gravity. Hope this helps. Thank you for the very nice comments.

      +Michael Rench Thanks...I've never done a motovlog setup...I think because I've had so many fails and trial & error that I figured it didn't sound good enough to show to anyone. We do have the Senas; had the Scalas before and they are def not as good audio. What I do is take the video (Contour plus the microphone we attached to it since it doesn't have one) from his helmet and the video from my helmet and I have to manually sync them. It sucks having 2 mics in my helmet (one fro Sena & one from Contour) but my Contour mic doesn't pick up the audio from the Sena very well since they are on opposite sides. Found out the hard way that having those too close together caused some static. I hope that makes sense...it's a PIA, actually. lol

    Good for you for testing out this bike! And for recognizing that the Ninja just wasn't cutting it. I took the naked version of that bike out for about 30 minutes and absolutely loved it! I can't remember if you happened to watch that video of mine are not. But seriously, I was so incredibly impressed. And you know what, people always say that automatic transmissions are great for those with disabilities or first-time riders. Almost as if they want to say it's only for THOSE people over there. In my opinion, I wouldn't have any problems jumping on an automatic motorcycle. In fact, my brother recently sold his FJ-09 for the Honda NC700 DCT version. He is able bodied. Four years younger than me. And absolutely loves it! I hope you find the right bike for you and I would definitely keep this one on your list. If I ever get tired of the Shadow, the CTX is for sure on my list! Good luck sister!

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +SoopaBee I don't remember seeing a vid on this...I will look in your vids section. And I want to say a big THANK YOU for your comment about this bike being for other riders besides just those with disabilities. Maybe I was trying to justify the thought of possibly purchasing such a bike since so many seem very leary of a bike with no clutch. I get that having a clutch means you are more engaged with the bike but I feel like that might be an emotional thing for riders??? I mean, let's face it, some of us (me included) are getting older and don't have as much strength or energy as we used to. This gives us older riders many more years of enjoyment and opportunity of riding a motorcycle...it's not a scooter; it's a motorcycle. Your brother got the DCT NC700??? Awesome...I've got that on my radar as well but my hb is concerned it will be taking away from the comfort factor if it is considered an "adventure" bike...I dunno, but I'm probably going to try & test ride one tomorrow. Very interested in your brother's thoughts on it. Have looked at the Shadow as well...a very nice cruiser. Thanks for the great comments, gaga-lover. Oh, no you didn't!!! lol

    • @SoopaBee
      @SoopaBee 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      WheelsNotHeels Believe me. I know what you mean when it comes to diminishing strength...this getting old sucks! LOL. And I personally think that there's a bit of machismo involved when I hear people (mostly dudes) criticizing these automatic motorcycles. Almost universally, these critics have never experienced an automatic motorcycle and can't speak from first-hand knowledge. And I think they consider these bikes scooters that happen to look like a motorcycle. WRONG! I've ridden different scooters and spent years in the saddle of mopeds so I know that world well. These DCT bikes are definitely NOT scooters. And they are not just for first-time riders or other "less capable" populations. Like I said, my brother rode one and loved it! He even traded in his Yamaha FJ-09. I give him props for doing so. For me, I personally love the more forward foot pegs of a cruiser, but if you are used to the bent knee position (and like that position), you may like the NC700. Hope you get to test one out. Again, the best to you in the quest. Can't wait to hear what you decide to get!

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @dry509

    • @yessure5291
      @yessure5291 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most cars sold today are some form of 'automatic' and nobody thinks twice about that. Standard transmission are either not available or special order. And most high performance cars have paddle shifters. So what is the big deal with Honda being more progressive with about 6 DCT models. Even the 2018 Gold wing can have a 7 speed DCT transmission.

    +WheelsNotHeels , Great video. I think that was a great choice for your hubby. I bet it is great for him. Sorry to see the Ninja go. I think it is a sport touring bike like the CTX 1300. The bike itself looks great. I was wondering if the bags are easily removable on the CTX 700, compared to how you have to remove them with 2 screws in the saddlebags like the CTX 1300? I will do a video on the removal of the saddlebags on the CTX 1300 soon. If I do not shoot it today, it will probably be this weekend on how you can remove and reinstall the saddlebags on the CTX 1300. I really do not remove my saddlebags, because I use them constantly, but will have to remove them when I start to adjust the suspension or when the time comes to probably change the final drive oil for the first time.

      @renegadebiker24 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      WheelsNotHeels Cool. I am glad to hear that. :) I just wish that the CTX 1300 would also be automatic as well sometimes. :) WOW, That is pretty easy to remove. How about the storage, is it to where it is a top loading and unloading when you open the bags or does it come out to the side like the CTX 1300 bags? I wonder if the same can be done on the CTX 1300 if there is a certain mechanism that the CTX 700 uses to do that, and maybe try to do the same on the CTX 1300.I wonder if you can do a video on the saddlebags capacity, how they open and close, and how easy it is to remove the bags? I know I will do a video on the CTX 1300 bag removal and install soon, and you will see a big difference between the 2 bikes when it comes to the removal of the saddlebags. :)

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +renegadebiker24 It's a very slim bag...I think 28 liters and it opens to the side with straps inside. I prefer the top-loading bags.

    • @renegadebiker24
      @renegadebiker24 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      WheelsNotHeels Oh o.k. so it is a little smaller capacity than the 1300's by about 3 liters. My saddlebags do not have the straps inside, so that is probably what I am looking at getting for them, or the inner bags that Seroom NZ had suggested in one of my videos that was the "Initial Review of the 2014 Honda CTX 1300 Deluxe" video on my channel. Yes, I do too, prefer the top loading bags myself, and wonder if I did put a top loading bag on my bike like what is found on a Harley Davidson and match the color just right, if that would be more aerodynamic to the bike, or make it less aerodynamic.

    Wow can't believe you sold your bike, but I guess it was time to move on. The ctx is a good reliable bike and it's a gas sipper. May I ask what are you in the market for? Are you going to stay with the sports bike or move over to a cruiser? The Kawasaki Vulcan classic is a nice starting cruiser with good smooth power bags standard belt driven and not to heavy in the weight. +Krazy Kool NYer I'm really not sure what I'm leaning towards. It's a case of what are my needs and what bike fits them. I like the DCT bikes because they are just easier on my hands at this point. I sat on a lot of cruisers and most of them were too heavy for me to lift. It's very frustrating to say the least. I'm going to have to sell the VFR, too, because every time I ride it, my back, neck & hands are in pain after. :( It will probably be either this bike, the NC700X or the CB500X...all Honda bikes.

      WheelsNotHeels the NC700 dct is a good bike as well. Same as the ctx but to me a lot more stylish with a trunk pretending to be a gas tank.
      I considered that bike for my wife is she didn't want to deal with gears , so she could just press roll and go🤓 good luck in your decision.
      Around here the NC700 Dct new goes for about $5499. Which is a good price for a bike. Cycle trader always has great deals on bikes maybe you can use that to help you find a bike for good price😎

    Love your video. I have a Sporty Superlow 883. I'm seriously thinking about getting this bike and getting rid of my Harley. I have a weak clutch hand/wrist due to an injury I sustained. so, this bike does all the shifting for you in automatic mode? and how do you make an abrupt stop? applying brakes and easing up on the throttle? stupid question I know but I'm used to the clutch and wondered how different a sudden stop would be.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Appreciate it! Yeah, my hb also has a Sportster and has a weak hand due to some arthritis. So, for him, this DCT has been a huge benefit. I am thrilled to see him so excited about riding again as it has been extremely difficult and painful to deal with a clutch.
      Yes, to answer your question, the DCT does all the shifting...and it gives you a "Drive" or "Sport" mode plus a "Manual" mode...in any of those 3 modes, you can use the Up or Down paddle shifters which are on the left grip to immediately shift down or up a gear for needing to pass quickly or just get out of a situation...after a few moments, the bike will then shift the gears into a more fuel-efficient gear for a smooth transition. As for making an abrupt stop, it's the same as a manual bike...you just apply the brakes and if it's a very fast stop, it has ABS to help slow you down even more safely. No, these are not stupid questions...they are all questions that any biker would want to know. I have the Honda NC700X which also has DCT and I love it. It's not like a car where if you let off on the gas pedal, it creeps forward...the bike won't do that until you twist the throttle. It has a "learning" feature where it will "learn" your riding style to better suit you. Sudden stops are not a problem for either one of our DCT bikes and believe me, I've had to do a few. It makes riding that much more pleasant because your hand isn't exhausted shifting in stop-and-go traffic. Hope this answers your questions. :)

    • @annabiotic1078
      @annabiotic1078 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +WheelsNotHeels Yes, it does answer my question. thx so much for taking the time to reply back. I've asked a few questions of others and you're the only one who took the time to answer me back. I appreciate it very much. I'm glad to hear your hubby is riding! I'm sure he's ecstatic to be riding with no pain. hear a lot of these old school bikers, mainly the Harley riders, talking crap about DCT. what a load of horse poo. I think it's a wonderful thing for those of us with injuries and/or arthritic joints. or even for new riders as well! I've heard is darn near impossible to stall this bike out. is that true?

    • @annabiotic1078
      @annabiotic1078 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +WheelsNotHeels I meant to ask you if you kept the same seat it came with. I'm around 5'9". was curious if I'd need to change the seat and height.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've tried...you can't stall this bike. The Honda quality shows itself for sure in these bikes. I'm 5'9", too, and the seat height on this is very doable for me; my hb is 5'11" and it's perfect. He may switch out the seat later on but it's pretty comfortable right now. In fact, since he's out of town, I might just borrow it for a few days! lol

    I have a few questions maybe you can help me out? I'm looking to buy one of these, a brand new 2015 model they have them new at my local dealer for around $5500. How would heavier riders like myself be on this bike? I'm 5'7 300lbs. I know I'm kind of big for this bike, but will it still be able to travel on the highway like 65-75mph? What's the top speed? One last thing is there huge differences between 2015 and newer years? I'd rather buy this NEW and not pay $$$$$ just for newer year models. Also im getting the DCT model which is an automatic, I just want to cruise and enjoy, I don't want to shift anymore.

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there...my husband & I can together ride this bike (combined weight of about 300 lbs.) with no problem. We've gone up to around 75 mph freeway speeds and the CTX handled it with ease. If you get the model with fairing, join the forum and check out what windscreen to get because that is a huge help. I believe the weight limit is 388 so should be ok. Also, maybe adjust the preload on the shocks and also maintain a high air pressure like 42 psi. Might help. I'm not sure about top speed but this bike does have plenty of get-up & go along with good gas mileage. I don't think there are any changes made in the 2016 model. Hope this helps. :) Also, check out the CTX bike forum and you'll find lots of good information there.

      I just got back from my 2 days riders course, passed with 88% and got my motorcycle endorsement! I must say, using the clutch on a bike is fun, but it's not something I want to live with. Just like years back I used to have a 05 GT Mustang and a 01 VW GTI which were stick. I can't wait to ride this CTX700 DCT because I'd rather just twist the throttle and go. The bike I completed the course with was a Sukuzi 250 (249cc) and I'm glad that the CTX700 sits about 2-3 inches lower, makes for a more comfortable seating position. I hope the handle bars are closer, because I felt like I was reaching too far on that Suzuki 250. The other thing is that the CTX his only about 140lbs heavier, BUT it's 670cc compared to the 249cc I was riding. Even with my weight, that 249cc MOVED me pretty good! I was surprised how fast it was 0-25mph!

    • @WheelsNotHeels
      @WheelsNotHeels  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      How awesome for you to complete the course! Congrats!
      I don't mind using a clutch except for stop-and go traffic...then it's a pita!
      Funny, I have a VW GTI and it's a stick; I feel like I have more fun with a stick in a car than auto...except for heavy traffic. lol!
      The handlebars on the CTX are nice; like a cruiser, they come towards you but are a little farther apart. Makes it easier to handle corners, I think. Plus, the upright seating is very comfy and not so hard on your back. You won't notice the weight so much on the CTX because it's lower down on top of which, the center of gravity is lower, too. Yeah, motorcycles have come a long way!! What part of AZ are you in?

      @19tank81 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Sounds like the perfect bike for me, all I want is a fun cruiser, nothing super fast. I'm in Phoenix, I'll probably move to either Surprise or Mesa, love those two areas!

I am looking at the Africa Twin which has a similar transmission. I have also been thinking about installing a Rekluse clutch in my dirt bike that makes it clutchless. I'll need to bring video gave or something to keep me busy. LOL Very interested to see what you end up with. Good luck!
