    Got my new 300 couple days ago and has the latest switch. I find it really 👍

    That new style comes stock on the US version of the 24 300xcw. It's not a good button. It's hard to push and you have to hit it square and not on an angle for it to work. I ordered a set of old style on/ off switches from enduro engineering and they have been great. I recommend the old style hands down.

    While I agree that the old style separate buttons are the way to go, there is a modification you can do to the shown switch that makes it considerably easier to push and thus way more comfortable to use. It was discussed on KTM-Talk.

    I like the old mx style seperate start stop switch. Never had a single issue with them in 6 years. Wish KTM would go back to them. Might be a good product for you to make and sell, I know id buy at least 2 a year. 😁

    My 24 husky came with that new style switch but I didn’t like how it was hard to use with gloves on.
    I ended up buying the Motominded bomber switch and really like it!

    The us 23/24 models all came with your "updated" switch since July, out of box. 😂

    When I bought my TBI 2024 I put the motocross starter button on it and it works very well.

    I like rocker switches. They avoid unexpected engine starts when going downhill for a long time with engine off. On 4T, I use the clutch as a brake, with the engine off. Occasionally, the engine turns over and fires up at the worst moment, if I don't have the dual-sport switch installed.

    Ha, I had the one you show as a replacement (US version) and hated it. Loved the Euro type and purchased one...love it and now I read it's being recalled. I think I'll just install an "on off" switch off of my battery and then I won't worry about the bike starting in the garage when I'm not home...

      You can't make this stuff up! Strange how KTM can't get something this simple right...

      @@TokyoOffroad Exactly. They should have stayed with the old style buttons all together. They do so many amazing things and then a few things are like you said, they can't get something simple, right. Thanks for your amazing vids and I love watching you and Phil ride, excellent stuff!

    I recommand use Start/kill switch from Beta RR 300 2017 and remove click-clack mechanism. Works perfect everytime.

      I’d recommend a beta full stop. Less issues and if you do have an issue beta sort it out without fuss even after many hours use.

    The US versions of TBI’s have always came with the “updated” switch you are showing. You’re going to hate it. I know I do.

    me and my 4 other mates faced with some issues with this 2nd gen buttons. there were times my bike decided to go downhill by itself when I was on it . I am still waiting for the latest one. that is stupid mistake by KTM. sometimes they doing this idiotic stuff. SX buttons are working without a problem, it will solve the problem.

    I don't like the new style button on my 2024 XCW. Ordered the Bomber switch before the bike came in. 100% better and even like it better than the old style.

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried 4pcs of Bomber starter switches. All of them failed (2 failed on the first ride, all of them would stay engaged, continuously running the starter motor). No complaints regarding customer service, but unless the switch has been redesigned I won't be trying it again.

      @@TokyoOffroad Wow I have since aded the double switch to another bike with no issues. My buddies are all running them. Maybe they fixed the issue. What do you think of the latest software update? I haven't downloaded the latest yet.

    Are you still liking the OEM switch? Looking at options to get rid of mine, getting a lot of false starts

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, my kill switch stopped working a while ago. The starter switch has been fine though. I'm going to change to the old style switches and connect them with a new style connector. Will make a video about it...

    The pump only seems to extend halfway into the tank so cannot access the rest of the fuel in the lower part of the tank
    what do you think? Do you know some fix?
    Thanks

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t have problems riding off-road on rough ground. However, if road riding it is a problem. Getting the front wheel high (wheelie, or a bank) allows fuel into the central fuel pickup cup. I’m sure there will be a mod available soon…

    Will it push start with dead battery? Or does it need a capacitor?

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The EXC & XC-W models do not have a capacitor stock. I have done some testing and with the battery disconnected to simulate a completely dead battery, hill starting the bike starts and runs for a couple of seconds then dies. Yes, it needs a capacitor to enable hill/bump starting with a dead battery. I plan to make a video about this for the TBI very soon...

    what was the 1st recall?

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The 1st recall was done by KTM at my dealer before my bike was handed over to me. The original switch was prone to starting spontaneously if water got inside. Not good...
