Absolutely! I want the animals, but I also need that windmill for when I finally attempt to recreate Zoo Parc Overloon in the game.
Something I've seen in real life zoos is a cap on the number of guests allowed inside petting zoos and other exhibits. A keeper would be standing by to allow guests in and out. This would reduce stress for the animals on busy days. It would be nice to be able to implement a limit in the game for the walk-through habitats.
Wish there was an opportunity for guests to hand-feed the animals in encounter exhibits. That was the best part of any petting zoo I went to when I was little. Maybe in a future update…
i agree! Missed opportunity, maybe the hygiene station is their beta tester for that kind of concept? I have meticulously built so many 'feed the animals' stations and the little twist a quarter get animal food thingies, and it is sad no one can actually use them. I'm wondering if i can hide the hygiene station single inside the frames of my animal feed stations? To create the illusion they are grabbing feed. XD i will be experimenting with a few things i can tell haha.

I got so excited about getting to limit guests in habitat, but sadly it's the amount of guests off-path. I always struggle with my walk through habitats cause the guests keep overcrowding them and causing huge stress to the animals. Wish we could limit the amount of guests that can enter the habitat at once.

Thanks for the showcase, this pack is just what I needed. Love the much more realistic hedges, the clutter items and overall the fact that we can finally build proper petting zoos!

I think the whole point of the wooden gate is it is one of those countryside ones that would go between stone walls.
Pair it with the blueprint wall and I’m sure it looks great.

I've play all the career mode up to the Twilight pack, twice, and i can confidently say this new career map is the laziest no effort built map in the game.

Railroad ties didn't make it, but tires did! I would have had three sizes, but I'm not complaining.
As for the donkeys, many, maybe even most breeds, have bigger ears, but I think this looks appropriate for this breed.

I am not trying to argue and not like I own any alpaccas, but if you type "alpacca sounds" in the serachbar on youtube, there are many videos where they make these sheep-like sounds

I am so beyond stoked for this pack and personally it has been my most wanted kind of pack since day one. I had accepted defeat that I would never see more "regular" low appeal animals to have at the front of my zoos for franchise. The only thing missing for me now is an animal like the Hare and Pony

The sussex chicken is absolutely stunning so it has got to be my favourite in the pack
I could not believe that the highland cow was not in the trailer. The Scots call them the "Hairy Coo".
I want to say the chicken because I’m excited for maybe more birds they may give us but my heart is taken by the sheep and especially that little baby lamb!!
The donkey is by far my favorite. My aunt owned a donkey once upon a time named Odie. They are so cute and so smart.
As a British its cool to see so many British animals that being represented as you wouldn't normally see them.
I'm actually a bit disappointed that we need these gates... Because they still don't really look like the typical gates which are used in zoos (where you have 2 gates shortly after each other so that animals can't escape through an open gate). And that we don't have food stations (where you get the food for the animals).

In the free update notes it said there were two coops, a barn, and a new cosmic cow shake, did you find those/know where they are located? I searched with both the content pack selected and without and couldn’t find anything. Even the hand wash station doesn’t pop up.
My only letdown with this pack is the the Tamworth pig. It looks great and I'm excited to have a domestic pig, I just wish they went with a different breed. I love spotted pigs like the KuneKune or the Idaho Pasture Pig. I would have preferred a breed like those so we could have more color variety than just the solid peachy color of the Tamworth.
What I think is really a missed opportunity is feeding dispensers for guests. It would be a nice way to earn an extra buck! Like they put a coin in a kind of animal food vendor machine.
i thought we were getting a small habitat gate? Was kind of hoping the white fences were barriers! Cant wait for this! Hoping they sort the clipping animals and guests soon and crowd control! Reminds me of the old planet coaster days where guests just wouldnt visit certain rides, so frustrating!

I'm sad that we did not get a horse or pony, but I am truly happy they added this. They are perfect filler animals for the beginnings of zoos. The items will do nicely with the Alpine theme. The donkey is definitely my favorite.
I wonder if they've already considered the animal encounters vs. sandbox mode with turning off animal/guest fleeing. I am just curious because i play sandbox often, and can see this being useful for some of my more whimsical freeworld builds, but i wonder if they've considered that seeing that it still needs so many tweaks for just all around function. I'm hoping it wasn't a forgotten thought. Lmk if you get a chance to test this and how sandbox mode with settings: no animal/guest flee with animal encounters works together, if at all. I'm very curious! :]
Any update to guest AI? Or do they still try to view animals as soon as they have line of sight regardless if they can move closer?

we have a park where we have free roaming highland cattle, they are such beautiful animals! so I am very happy to see them added to the game and that you can have guest interactions. really reminds me of the park at home ^^

Living in germany, I've mostly seen donkeys where the ears are almost as long as half their face I'd say.
But I would also guess that it would look really weird as an ingame model.
Very glad that they caught the detail of the blue eyes for the white fured donkey variation. Most equines with a white fur gene have blue eyes.
I don't know why but it feels like the animal animations have gotten a little stiff no? The goats and sheep look odd to me, but what do I know lol

The white donkey with the spots is called a painted donkey. They are also in mini donkeys. Usually they come in painted, brown, and gray.
The ears on the donkey might be pretty close to how they are in real life. Mules have longer ears. And both are very adorable. ❤

I wasn't expecting much from the build items, but not having a matching fence to the wooden gate is a big let down.
As i feared the small guest gate isn't really "small," it's just short and very wide.
Also i saw on Rudi's stream the Japanese macaque, which most zoos would consider them to be a dangerous animal, has the guest interaction, but the big slow very safe tortoises are look but don't touch. I'll never understand Frontier's "dangerous" animal classification.

Im a bit sad that its an animal pack because I wiuldve wabted allot more country build pieces like theese but more I can only hope they add another oack to complement this at a later date. But the pack felt a bit...put together last minute that scenario world looks like someone had a afternoon to make it. But sm glad we got the animals. Need even more barbyard animals and build pieces needs one more pack for this study yle!

SUUUUPWRDUPER excited for this pack though i never play scenario anyway, been hollering about barnyard animals for years now. Its the last peice in recreating zoos in my part of the world. Not all zoos are these disneyland waterpark big exotic parks, many of them are just local animals and theyre at least a very common part of bigger zoos. Dont have any time for people who say this doesnt belong in a zoo game.
I was so excited for this pack that I bought the ultimate edition on PS5 (it runs way better than on my PC). Very excited to play with the new animals.

I know it’s a letdown for many, but for me where my favourite games are all farm-based, and I love making anything homestead/cottage style. I am so excitego to make agro-tourism like working farm. So excited to make staff costumes farmer like, and make a farm with a petting zoo 🥹🥹🥹

Is it just me or do the chickens look more furry than feathery?? I think that’s my only disappointment in regards to the animals. As someone who grew up in a barn, I am very excited to get this pack!
The American Donkeys I know have larger ears than the PZ ones... The foal's ears are easily 50% larger than the PZ foal ears, maybe even 60% larger (I've had many horse foals & been around a number of donk foals, but I have to admit IRL, donk foals are slightly cuter due to the massively oversized, fluffy ears IMO).
Personally, I think they picked the wrong pig species for this pack- Kunekune pigs would have better IMO, they are 'the' zoo pig in my country lol.
I think for me just based on looks alone, the chickens win... I know I'll use them alot... I'm not sure I'll use many of the others unless I decide to do like a city zoo where a full-blown petting zoo area is a major feature of a zoo itself or something like that, but the animals are good options in the game, so not unhappy with any of them (pig species aside).
Gosh for a game that doesn't have many bird species, PZ sure do a friggin amazing job of the bird models- really hoping they do a victoria, scheepmaker's, sclater's or western/blue crowned pigeon, as they'd look amazing in game IMO.
I do think it's weird that the pigs don't have mud baths as enrichment
I'm not super excited for it. I will be getting it since I have all the other packs. Who doesn't want more animals? I am not making a barnyard, it's not my thing. The map and building pieces are cheesy. I will however, incorporate the animals in other scenarios that work. At first I was like chickens, WTH? I have to admit they are growing on me LOL. I wish they had more variations in them other than white. There are some really cool looking chicken breeds out there. I am more interested to see what the modding community does with the chickens. As far as Planet Zoo goes overall I am sad they are ending it. Instead of making a Planet Zoo 2 why not just upgrade the one they already have? I for one am not interested in buying it all over again, and won't. All I can say is the final pack better blow my socks off!!! Cheers!
I like the look of this pack. Another really good reviw for us thank you. I think the wooden gates that dont come with matching fence are intended to be used with the hedgerow to create a border.
Alpacas look cuddly and fluffy but they do spit and bite if they take a dislike to you
I have every other pack, but this one will not be joining my collection, and here's why:
Frontier missed sooo many opportunities to make this a worthy purchase. The animals look great, but they feel more like reskins with slightly different animations than new animals. They really should've included rabbits, ducks, geese, or ponies. The props weren't all that special. Some new barriers, gates, fences, troughs, enrichments, would have been awesome. (Like the picket fence as a small habitat gate. Even the stone walls could've been made into proper barriers.) Even the map was incredibly lack-luster. The result feels lazy and unoriginal. 🤷♀️
Another note: Alot of these animals have already been made into mods for free. I think Frontier just wanted to make their own version to get money for it.

We have to wait and see... but I feel like all the older packs will go first, which will be released all before March 2025 and then they will release the new pack(s).. Also will avoid a lot of confusion as the Barnyard Animal Pack as far as I know isnt included in the Ultimate Bundle for the Console Edition? So launching this pack after all the other packs that are included in the ultimate edition makes a lot more sense to me tbh..

For my own personal farm fantasy, I love the alpaca and sheep, but objectively for this game, I think the best animal is the chicken.
Haha, we're really hard up for birds if we're getting excited for chickens.
I GET that people don't want petting zoo/domestic animals, but I don't remember anyone else complaining like I did when they added the llama so long ago. "But... that's a domestic animal, why not the vicuña or guanaco instead?"
Ever since then, I've thought it only rational to add some other petting zoo animals. If you don't like the pack, then I'd say blame the llama!

Definitely won’t be buying this pack. The only thing I liked were the trees and the planters. Not worth it for that.
If thats the only thing you like, then would definitely not recommened getting it 😅

I like the guest animations, but the animals are just alive.. doing nothing while this interaction? :(
I was hoping for interactions since 4 years, made the suggestion over and over for every free update... There is soooo much room for more :(
Voor ik commentaar in het Engels op de video zelf, even een compliment aangaande je Engels! Het is dat ik weet dat je Nederlands bent maar je hebt echt geen Nederlands accent. Echt niks! En dat is knap voor een Nederlander. 😉 Als ik al een accent hoor soms is het eerder Brits.

@DeLadysigner sure,its the animals are a bit of a letdown. Its amazing frontier/planet zoo team has put the time and effort into this, but I'd rather have some better/ uniquer animals. Some more species of animals that are animals, you know?

I have the console edition, so I can't complain, but I think the planet Zoo team would maybe take my opinion on board. Especially if someone as yourself,who's quite in touch with frontier, could voice our queries and hopes.

I honestly have no contact at all anymore at Frontier 😕 Everyone that I knew has left the past few years or where fired with the layoffs.. 😕 but also, to be completely honest.. even when I had feedback the fasy few years or other issues with the game.. they didnt do anything with them or it took them sometimes over a year to fix things.. 😅
So yeah.. I guess if you want to make your voice heard, you are better off with the frontier issue tracker or the forums 🙈

I don't like that guests can leave the path.
It'd be kind of hard to have a petting zoo type habitat if you had to fill the whole thing with paths, so it's only logical guests can go off path. Also a bonus is now guests can walk on scenery pieces within a guest interaction habitat just like keepers can, so that opens up a lot of customization possibilities.
Its selfish from me for wanting more?? Nontheless everyting looks very good
