You guys are overcomplicating it. Himekawa thinks his dad cheated on his mom with Aquas mom, that way they share father (who unalived himself). The scenario both overlooked is what if it wasn't Himekawas dad who cheated on his wife with Aquas mom, but instead it was Hinekawas mom who cheated on her husband with Aquas dad? That way Hinekawa and Aqua still have the same (unknown) father, one that is evidently very much alive. TLDR: It was Himekawas mom who cheated, not his "dad". This is also a scenario that Akane can easily think of without having all the knowledge and timelines and stuff that we as the audience is privy to.

What set me off with Aqua's discovery in the previous episode was the difference between their ages and how it wasn't adding up with all the details of ages of their so-called dad. I deduced that either Aqua's real dad donated a sperm and the woman just so happened to be Taiki's mom. Or they were into a secret relationship even before Ai met this dude but I think somewhere in the show, they said Ai and this man, whatever his name is were really close in age and I don't think they ever mentioned an age gap. Here's my theory about the whole thing though its quite crazy: Aqua's dad had sex with Taiki's mother at 12 years of age leading to the birth of Taiki Himekawa. and at 15, he met Ai and had sex with her leading to her being pregnant with the twins. And as for why this man is so fixated on Ai and why he sent Ai's mentally disturbed fan to kill her, is maybe because the first episode was misleading us a little with that phone call where it was hinted that the break up between Ai and the man was co-sensual, if you think about it objectively, the only reason you would have a reason of sending someone to kill your ex is maybe because you are either mentally disturbed at the time or maybe you felt so betrayed by her for some reason that you just started hating her. And it also is a possibility that you had a future together with your ex at that time and didn't want to break up so abruptly. And if you think about it, would it be that Ai just wanted to experience sex at that age for fun or some reason other than love and we know that she didn't have the emotional sense to identify what her feelings were for others until she realized her true love for her kids at the end of her life. Maybe This guy truly loved Ai and wanted a future with her but then Ai simply swatted him off and under the delusion that he was okay with it, AND BECAUSE OF THAT there was that whole misdirect with the phone call in the first episode. And when you take into account that this guy had sex with a way older woman when he just entered teenage, and if also considering my theory about him not taking their break up easily as an adult, then there is a chance that whatever happened between the man and Taiki's mother wasn't consensual and he was forced into it, if you know what I mean. you can paint a whole story with this by theory and I don't really know if it is true or not, but I have a gut feeling that there are parts of my theory that's definitely canon in the show.

No, that part wasn't in the Manga it was anime original. It was probably being used to replace the death flag where Akane appeared in a black dress in waist high water with red dots surrounding her in promotional material.
Akane figured out the guy who died wasn't necessarily their father. Unbeknownst to Himekawa, his mom had an affair with the one who would become his dad, that's the loophole. Even though Aqua is really really smart, because he wanted to end the chase, he didn't really think about other possibilities and took what Himekawa said at face value.
For any one wondering why Akane react like that, Everything Aqua was saying about being free to live a normal life and fall in love should have been music to her ears - the only reason for her to react with that horrified look was if she realized Aqua was wrong. From what Aqua explained, this discovery of his half-sibling and revelation that his father was already dead clearly happened recently - so it stands to reason the half-sibling would be someone from the Tokyo Blade play. And Akane has worked with Taiki in Lala Lai for years, so she's probably heard this story of his parents' (*) death from him and realizes exactly who Aqua is talking about. And having already researched Ai's life and death thoroughly, Akane realized what Aqua apparently keeps missing: the deaths of Taiki's parents*) happened a full two years before Ai's murder, so Taiki's supposed father can't be the man Aqua's been looking for.
Is it just me or do crows appear everytime something bad happens in the show? First time being the doctor death, right before Ai's death i believe, the the white hair girl (the plot) appear and now with the dad and ruby.
Here is some age math things, Aqua is 17 now, and his half sibling, the actor, is 20, and the sibling said his parents s-word when he was 5, back to the time Aqua was 2. And Ai was k-word when she was 20, which Aqua should be 4 because he was born while Ai was 16. So, from the actor's parents died to Ai got k-word is 2 years long, and it doesn't make sense. Thats probably what loophole Akane thought.

What set me off with Aqua's discovery in the previous episode was the difference between their ages and how it wasn't adding up with all the details of ages of their so-called dad. I deduced that either Aqua's real dad donated a sperm and the woman just so happened to be Taiki's mom. Or they were into a secret relationship even before Ai met this dude but I think somewhere in the show, they said Ai and this man, whatever his name is were really close in age and I don't think they ever mentioned an age gap. Here's my theory about the whole thing though its quite crazy: Aqua's dad had sex with Taiki's mother at 12 years of age leading to the birth of Taiki Himekawa. and at 15, he met Ai and had sex with her leading to her being pregnant with the twins. And as for why this man is so fixated on Ai and why he sent Ai's mentally disturbed fan to kill her, is maybe because the first episode was misleading us a little with that phone call where it was hinted that the break up between Ai and the man was co-sensual, if you think about it objectively, the only reason you would have a reason of sending someone to kill your ex is maybe because you are either mentally disturbed at the time or maybe you felt so betrayed by her for some reason that you just started hating her. And it also is a possibility that you had a future together with your ex at that time and didn't want to break up so abruptly. And if you think about it, would it be that Ai just wanted to experience sex at that age for fun or some reason other than love and we know that she didn't have the emotional sense to identify what her feelings were for others until she realized her true love for her kids at the end of her life. Maybe This guy truly loved Ai and wanted a future with her but then Ai simply swatted him off and under the delusion that he was okay with it, AND BECAUSE OF THAT there was that whole misdirect with the phone call in the first episode. And when you take into account that this guy had sex with a way older woman when he just entered teenage, and if also considering my theory about him not taking their break up easily as an adult, then there is a chance that whatever happened between the man and Taiki's mother wasn't consensual and he was forced into it, if you know what I mean. you can paint a whole story with this by theory and I don't really know if it is true or not, but I have a gut feeling that there are parts of my theory that's definitely canon in the show.

Also Ai's family name was never revealed when she died, so how would he know that is Ai's grave when only the family name is there and it was kept hidden from the public. Furthermore how does he know what his daughter look like as he never met her. He had to be stalking the twins and Ai for a long time.
No, that part wasn't in the Manga it was anime original. It was probably being used to replace the death flag where Akane appeared in a black dress in waist high water with red dots surrounding her in promotional material.
Akane figured out the guy who died wasn't necessarily their father. Unbeknownst to Himekawa, his mom had an affair with the one who would become his dad, that's the loophole. Even though Aqua is really really smart, because he wanted to end the chase, he didn't really think about other possibilities and took what Himekawa said at face value.

For any one wondering why Akane react like that,
Everything Aqua was saying about being free to live a normal life and fall in love should have been music to her ears - the only reason for her to react with that horrified look was if she realized Aqua was wrong. From what Aqua explained, this discovery of his half-sibling and revelation that his father was already dead clearly happened recently - so it stands to reason the half-sibling would be someone from the Tokyo Blade play. And Akane has worked with Taiki in Lala Lai for years, so she's probably heard this story of his parents' (*) death from him and realizes exactly who Aqua is talking about. And having already researched Ai's life and death thoroughly, Akane realized what Aqua apparently keeps missing: the deaths of Taiki's parents*) happened a full two years before Ai's murder, so Taiki's supposed father can't be the man Aqua's been looking for.

The simple loophole is that Aqua and Ruby were conceived after Himekawa's parents died. At least in my opinion.
Here is some age math things, Aqua is 17 now, and his half sibling, the actor, is 20, and the sibling said his parents s-word when he was 5, back to the time Aqua was 2. And Ai was k-word when she was 20, which Aqua should be 4 because he was born while Ai was 16. So, from the actor's parents died to Ai got k-word is 2 years long, and it doesn't make sense. Thats probably what loophole Akane thought.

For anyone who doesn't understand but doesn't just want the answer given to them, consider these points:

2. We suddenly see a man claiming to be Ruby's father, despite Aqua thinking his father is long gone.
3. There's a simple loophole that makes all of this make sense.

It's because Akane is more in tune with Aqua's trauma and struggles. Kana is just naive and bubbly toward him whereas Akane is there to help support him at his lowest.
She's nurturing and caring especially toward him. Very upfront and honest about her feelings for him. In real life, she'd be a no-brainer pick for a man. A woman who loves you and cherishes and cares for you. Except that "love" part has a spanner thrown in with this episode's reveal. Akane seems more loyal to Aqua as gratitude for saving her life.
Kana doesn't see Aqua's struggles and low points, though I am sure she would absolutely be there for him if only she knew.
If anybody out there still isn't getting it: The "loophole" is that Aqua doesn't realize he's got the wrong guy. Taiki's dad wasn't his biological father, because his mother had an affair with the same man whom later seduced Ai.

honestly the fact that the "dad" that did the double suicide doesn't even look similar to aqua or ruby not even a little is already enough to tell me he ain't that guy, he just looks like a random npc/side character to me, i mean where's the blond hair for ex cuz aqua n ruby's hair color is blond, Ai doesn't have blond hair so it must've come from their dad, this is anime so the character design should be very elaborate and obvious on who're the main characters, they ain't fooling nobody with that trick😂.

My THEORY on the loophole is that since Akane knows ai personality, she would be able to know that ai came from a rough childhood without any strong familial bonds. With that in mind Ai wouldn’t be sleeping with a married man which could possibly destroy another family due to infidelity.
