    I ended up getting a full carbon fiber liner that just slides into place. No rivets or screws needed to hold, it’s pressure fitted. Easiest install I’ve done on the x3 yet.

    I was told by can am , the reason why the housing is plastic is cause it was designed to fail when the belt dies . Apparently its better the housing fails than the shafts warping/bending due to binding of the broken belt and the clutches .

    • @GLifeUTV
      @GLifeUTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Makes sense. My last belt that failed went into pieces and shot out the front clutch exhaust. Also the pro xp I believe is an aluminum housing oem

    So I was cleaning the intake cover and things out in the bed and by my luck a piece of mud about the size of the end of your thumb rolled down into the intake tube that goes down behind the primary clutch. Wondering if anyone knows if that a big deal where it looks like the housing is made where that little plastic cover behind the primary would keep it from getting into the primary and it’s just gonna chill there till I decide to do a clutch kit or something wjere I would go ahead and pull the clutch all the way off and remove that little cover and get that mud out. Wondering if you would think it’s a big deal or not since you’ve had it apart and understand a little better on how it’s designed.

    How is this holding up and is it worth buying over the liners? And have you have water issues or with the plastic housing lining up and holding up ?

    • @GLifeUTV

      So far so good. But mainly dry desert. And occasional water crossing... Lined up fairly good. No issues

    Have you had any issues with the case? I put one on and now I have an oil leak behind the case at the primary clutch, it leaks down the back of the case. I contacted Mr rpm and he sent me new hardware to bolt the case on. I redid it with the hardware and still have a leak.

    • @GLifeUTV
      @GLifeUTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      U need a new pto cover gasket. And when u install the housing u can not overtightened the bolts for the housing on the primary side or it will pull the pto cover away and cause the leak. The torque spec is something like 89 in lbs or something id have to look it up... Key word inch lbs.. not foot. lbs .. use plenty of loctite
