Thank you for this. I was looking over TH-cam just this week on the install videos for this same clutch housing as I recently purchased one. Also good to see the quick pin set up worked out.
Hey man, did you have a hard time getting your primary off? I tried pulling mine with the alba tool just like you have, and it just laughed at me. Tip of the puller is all tweaked and the clutch didnt budge.
Nice, maybe I'll upgrade. I been having my ride almost a year, nothing is breaken or falling apart from what I see on TH-cam. It's all stock from factory, and still have the original belt from the factory
Thank you 🙏🏻 and the benefit is it won’t break like the plastic oem housing when you blow a belt. I had went through 2 and didn’t want to deal with it on the 2020
How does using the quick pins give you water intrusion protection? I would think allen or hex screws would provide better protection for water intrusion.
Back to the Desert --> Very impressive... you do nice work. I have just purchased my first CAN AM X3 and I've been following your videos. I'm in the process of "Bullet Proofing" as many areas like this as possible before I run into problems - waiting for the case from Mr RPM to get back in stock now. Quick question if you wouldn't mind answering now that you have some run time with this set up... have you experienced any wear on the backside of the clutch backplate particularly where the pin lock balls ride against the case causing the pins to become loose and possibly allowing the seal to break?
No not at all because of the way they machined the housing the gasket pushes out further and the pins do provide clamping force as the more you install the pins around the housing the tighter they get. The first couple of pins go in easy but they start getting harder and harder and requires more force to push in which is a good thing for sealing.
Just broke my outer and inner shell only x3 xmr RR today. Looking at the MR RPM housing you got. Wonder if you had any issues with the housing hitting intake manifold??
No but should be within a few degree delta the thing I’m after is no more broken housings! I can always install a belt fan or develop a way to lower belt temps but eventually as my horsepower levels increase the belt will break and would have taken out the plastic housing.
@back to the desert Went to the link like @Hector Garcia and the link doesn't seem to work, I've watched the video and it looks like an awesome upgrade. I blew a belt last week doing about 80 mph and it put a hole in the top of my stock clutch cover. The inserts look like they will work, but if I have to pull the clutches anyway..... I'd prefer the aluminum clutch cover personally. Let me know about the link, I've been through their website and can't see any trace of that part. Thanks in advance!
Hey man love your videos. Unrelated to this video but what size BFG tires do you run? Have you noticed any clutching issues before you reclutched for the 2 step? Thanks
Thanks for posting! Did you end up having any issues with the housing touching the intake manifold? Also, did the black cover come with the aluminum housing or did you have to buy that
@@KeepingUpWithTheReeds So with the stock intake manifold are you thinking it wouldn't be an issue? Also, I should have clarified - the black cover I was referring to is behind the clutch. Did that come with the aluminum housing or was that OEM? Thanks again, it is much appreciated! I am debating on the aluminum housing or using the carbon fiber insert.
So I need some troubleshooting tips. My 2018 x3 Packard big turbo. Not sure what happened but it won’t go over 5500 rpms no codes either. Any helps awesome broski

I don’t understand the concept of buying a New Toy and tearing it all apart to upgrade it. Why not just build your own machine from scratch and have a sick toy.
Jorge Limon because we all do things the way we want and this just happens to be the way I want and a lot of other people as well. 🤷🏻♂️ we all have our own tastes and opinions which makes this a great sport to be in.
Not everyone is capable of building a machine from scratch. Sure we can do upgrades on certain things but many lack the skill, knowledge and equipment needed to build one from the ground up. If pockets are deep, then farm your work out and make it happen.
After having the aluminum clutch housing on for a while how do you like it? Broken a belt yet to see if the housing is compromised in any way?

Nice, I currently use the Dirtbag Customs carbon fiber liner and I’ve had no issues! ✌🏻
I am ordering mine now! I just blew a belt and it blew up the inner housing, thxs for the video!
Nice, maybe I'll upgrade.

Clean install looks good keep the helpful videos comming just one question wats all the benefits of installing that housing 👍👍👍👍

Forgot to ask the length of the pins. Great idea!

Like your release pins. May I ask were you bought them. I'm still using the x3's original plastic back, destroyed the original one. Thanks
I didn't read all comments to see, but could you put the link of where you bought the aluminum housing?
I like that quick release. That is a nice housing. Man your car is coming out very very nice!
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Look great 👌Did you noticed any belt temp changed ?
Musabeh Algufli no not at all and I drive hard af lol
Quick pins don't provide a clamping force so do you have concerns about that housing not sealing well over time?

The first couple of pins go in easy but they start getting harder and harder and requires more force to push in which is a good thing for sealing.
Have you floated your secondary clutch? Supposedly helps with belt alignment during full shift out. J.F.
Where did you get your clutch housing pins
What Kind of Quick release pins you installed?
How much was the housing? I looked on Mr RPM's website and I cannot find it. thx!

Think this will keep it cooler compared to the plastic?
No but should be within a few degree delta the thing I’m after is no more broken housings! I can always install a belt fan or develop a way to lower belt temps but eventually as my horsepower levels increase the belt will break and would have taken out the plastic housing.
How are you liking this box so far.
do they sell both inner and outer housings ? im having no luck finding the outer housing

Would you recommend this part is it worth the money I have seen some mixed reviews I’m just trying to see if I should bite the bullet or not
Second ....but was watching mint 400 coverage. Thx for posting and info. Really like this better than just a liner

Corinne DeKind on after market Intake manifold it does touch so I had to notch the housing in the black cover is from my OEM housing

I have a quick question did you get extended warranty.. Won't all these things void the warranty
success for life hi, no I did not get the warranty because I do all of my own work 🤷🏻♂️
No it will not. It’s a 100% better part if anything the factory will thank you.
$20.00 a pin😳😳
There’s way cheaper ones on eBay but I needed these same day so I had to bite the bullet and I already had 6 of my own at home so I only bought the 5
