- How to Setup the UDI U818A Quadcopter. I demonstrate how to install batteries in the UDI U818A. I show how to use the battery charger for the UDI U818A. Also, I show how to connect the battery to the UDI U818A quadcopter to power it on.

nice vid but the manual (while barely in English XD) does say to make a habit of always turning on controller then the ufo and when done turn off the ufo to ensure a steady connection. idk how much it matters(or if they said it backwards, haha seriously the manual was written by a 3rd grader) but figured id add it in. Got mine last night so much fun got pretty good at flying it around my house already. Just bought upgraded batteries but its got decent flight time with normal batteries.

my remote turns on an everything, I was trying to start earlier and I managed to get it. I wouldn’t know what I was doing, but I managed to get it to the blades to spend like whenever you were testing it but now I turned it off because I got scared that I broke it for some reason anyways, now I’m trying to do it again and I turn it on push the left all the way up palette back and it won’t do the beep beep beep thing It just keeps blinking help please

Had problem from the start with one back motor they sent me two motors, I guess left and right, is there any way to tell which motor is clock and which is counter clock without installing them and trying it

Haven't used my drone for quite awhile. So I changed and charged all batteries . Now when I start to fly, it will only get a couple feet off the ground then stops and all the lights are on. Any suggestions?
Terry Jensen I believe there is a reset switch on the underside of the drone. You could try resetting it. That’s the only thing that comes to mind,.

kryodawg I just bought the UDI U818A Quadcopter and i connected everything in the same way you did but it just doesnt work. It seems like the control doesnt match with the quadra. Never gets any signal. Do you know a solution? Ty.
Sebastian Molina does the quadcopter light up when you connect the battery? also on the control you will need to make sure you move the left stick up and then down and that should sync the quad and control.
kryodawg yeap. lights works perfect and i moved the throttle up and down but it doens sync.
are you by any chance trying to sync it in an area where there are other wireless devices?

My brother purchased one these udir/c model # U818A as a birthday present for me. While he was trying to be helpful and set it up for flight ready, he misplace the owners manual and can't find it anywhere. I tried to download a manual from the manufacture's sight but I couldn't find an English translated manual, only Chinese versions. Where is a good site to get a good "free" English tranlated manual for this item?
FJ L I don't know of any site that has an English version of the manual.
+FJ L I just got this and have the manual, I will take a pic or video of it for you, if you like. It is in English, but pretty badly translated. "Addiction instructions for receipt board." Pretty funny read actually!

Luis Velazquez Yes, to the best of my knowledge all the U818A quads use an SD card. No it does not come with an SD Card or at least mine didn't.

how to set up the camera?
I got a 64 GB Sandisk chip for it. While the U818A reads the 2 GB chip that came with it, it doesn't recognize the 64 GB chip. When I plug the 64 GB chip directly into my laptop, it is read with no problems.
Any thoughts or advice?
+Noam Chomsky I believe the highest memory card it can read is a class 10 speed 32GB memory card. Try a class 10 memory card that is 32 GB ir lower.
+Noam Chomsky I'm having a similar problem. When I plug my SD card (64GB and my 16GB micro SD)into the slot on the side of the camera and hit the record or picture button on the transmitter, nothing records. I have noticed a fast blinking red LED right next to the solid blue LED on the bottom of the camera. In all the vids I watch, there is only a solid blue LED illuminated. Anybody have any thoughts?
I followed KryoDawg's advice, and bought a 32 GB class 10 chip for $11. Worked great first time, absolutely no problems. Thanks Dawg!
After I fly around for about 30 seconds, the remote starts beeping repeaedly. I tried landing the drone, checking the battery, and just leaving it for a minute. The beeping doesn't seem to effect the operation of the drone though. I can't figure out what it is trying to tell me.
Most likely the battery is dying or when it is blinking it is trying to connect to the drone so it might be too far away

when i got mine the camera wasnt attached to the actual quad-copter i may just be being stupid but i really dont know how to get it connected
Max Doyle I'm not sure how it can be connected. I didn't think it was possible to remove it. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer.

+Zzzzzz... there isn't really much to set up. Once you have a memory card in and batteries, that is pretty much it. You control the camera via the remote..I hope that was helpful.

Where is the return to home button ?
This model does not have GPS, so there is not a return to home feature.

no, this model doesn't appear to offer RTH either. I think for something like that you may need to move up to something like the item shown here amzn.to/29K7a9v
