And look forward to each new video because we're getting a biology class. I knew ^%$#-all about fish and ponds, that's not the case anymore. The biology is fascinating.
You should stock gizzard shad in your pond. They will spawn twice as much as the threadfin. They will make your bass MUCH bigger MUCH faster than threadfin because they survive much better.
@@brianmck7363 yep. Plus instead of bass eating threadfin which are usually 3” long or smaller they can eat gizzards up to a pound. Bass need to eat 10 pounds to grow 1 pound well what better way than to eat the much bigger gizzard shad
One issue with gizzards in a pond this size is they will eat the same forge the bluegill and red ear will eat, it’s good for the bass for sure but they can cause issues with they are trying to grow big bream
You run into a problem with biomass. There’s only so many fish the pond can support and once those gizzard shad get over the pound mark they will be too large for the majority of the bass to eat. It’s not a good idea which is why he won’t do it.
@@dwightshelford3061 biomass would only be a problem with a lack of aeration which he doesnt have plus not many gizzard shad will survive long enough to get to a pound. Maybe 0.1% of them.

I'm thinking you might try building a low railing around the eagle tower. It will make it easier for the eagles to land, they don't seem to like landing on a flat slick bare wood deck.
@@BamaBassHey Mr BamaBass if you thought that being able to go in behind those falls was cool (and it most certainly is) you must take your wife and kids To Niagara Falls on The Canadian side and you will be able to go in behind all of the mighty Niagra Falls. @@BamaBass it would be really cool to see the eagles establish a new and improved eagle tower! Can’t wait for that video! And possibly in the future, we could watch them raise a baby eagle!!!
@@BamaBass I am so happy to hear you are going to make improvements to the eagle tower. Like a lot of others I have been following from the very beginning and the eagle tower has always been something I have wanted to comment on but who am I to tell you anything. I am sure they can tell the slick smooth surface is nothing they could start a nest on. I look forward to the improvement video but then I look forward to every update!
From what I understand about the fawns is that when they are recently born the momma keeps her distance and comes in during the nighttime to feed them. This is due to her having a trackable scent and the fawns not having one. So she gets their strength up when they are newly born, once they are strong enough that they can keep up with momma then they go with her. Until then she nurses them and keeps her distance and watches. I have seen several fawns where I work that seem to be left alone and momma isnt far from them. Eventually they will be strong enough to stick with momma.
If the mother gets hit by a vehicle and dies, the young fawn will lay in it's spot and die if not old enough. My neighbor has saved several fawns and hand fed them till they were old enough. If you see older fawns alone, the mother is most likely dead.
I love these videos. One of my favorite channels. I didn’t know you were in Chicago. That’s my hometown. It is a great city… even though we get a lot of bad publicity. I still feel perfectly safe here.
Really nice update. I’ll be moving to Florida in a few years (retirement). I can’t wait to go bass fishing year round. I get maybe 5 months on Long Island, NY. I do have to say, the Northern strain of Largemouth are far more aggressive than the Florida strain. I catch some that are nearly the same size as the stick baits they attack. I used to live in Orlando, FL and most likely it’s where I’m retiring.
