Except the egg was never the chicken, it is a chicken period, just like ours, until the egg get fertilized. The yolk is only for nutrients for the growing bird. People are not killing anything by eating eggs, unless they are fertilized eggs which I am absolutely against. We know the source of our eggs though and they are never baby chicks unless my MIL incubates them.
