As a Bucs fan, I'm not sure why I decided to watch this. I guess I wanted to see if there was some lip reading on the Bucs sideline but instead I got to see Todd Bowles make his perpetual "someone farted and I'm really disappointed/confused face" so that, if anything, captured what it's like to watch the Bucs on a weekly basis under his tenure.
Reminds me of post sb win under gruden perpetual disappointment but hey Baker makes it fun to be a professional football player again 🤦. Poor Tom had to deal with this bovine excrement attitude trying to win championships while most the roster just collecting checks
@@RJ-fe9pu Yeah those years were brutal. I think we're definitely in a better position now. Licht is a tremendous GM and has handled the post-Brady era well - maintaining a contender while juggling cap constraints. If we can bring back Godwin (and he's close to 100%, hard to say) and draft basically all defense, we'll be in great shape to contend next year. That all said, I think there's a limit to how far Bowles can take this team and, unfortunately, it looks like we saw that again this year.
@aHighHighShelf licht is average at best imo (which doesn't matter at all) bowles was gifted a job that he didn't earn with players he didn't manage and failure was inevitable. He was good at coaching Defense and hasn't proven winning the big games is in his capabilities. It seems like I hate the team but I grew up in the era of only 1 king of the mountain and I'm going to get there or die trying and "making football fun again is a losing mentality" as we just witnessed
@@RJ-fe9pu We can agree to disagree on Licht. I think he's done a great job - won a championship and has a solid track record in the draft, albeit with a few misses but what GM doesn't? Regardless, the team did talk about being built for a championship or with that in mind so I'm glad we've gotten to a point where the expectations have risen. Just 6 years ago you or I would've killed to just make it to the playoffs and now we're expecting to not only get there but make a deep run. That alone tells me we're better off now than when Licht showed up and hopefully we can make some moves in the draft and FA (especially while Baker is only making 30 mil a year) to really do some damage next year.
Really cool to learn about Zane's OCD. Obviously it sucks that anyone has to deal with that kind of issue but hopefully there are kids out there watching him and it builds confidence that they can learn to adapt and be successful. ❤
@@GetChristified I don't have OCD, and I know it manifests in different forms for everyone, but I can't imagine being put in such a high pressure position all the time and being expected to perfect your one job. That must be hell for someone who may not have what they need around them to help.
Nobody's talking about Daniels losing almost a full 5 yards on the pre-kick kneel down. That would drive me insane as a kicker, making an already pressure-packed kick in the playoffs tougher. If he kicks that same ball 5 yards closer it's not even close to the post. Hate that play call.
You have a point, but getting the ball to the better alignment vis a vis the hash marks is probably way more important as long as the kick is still inside 50 yards
@ I don’t disagree with this point, but plenty of QB’s do this exact thing under center and run to the other hash while maintaining field position behind their O Line
As a Commanders fan, this season has easily taken about 10 years off of my life and the 4th quarter of this game probably took another 4 or 5 years, but this is the first time in my lifetime I've seen this team with an legitimate fighting chance in the playoffs and I think halving my lifespan is worth it. Lions vs Commanders should be a great game, both teams are built different. Even if Washington's season ends in Detroit, this has been a hell of a "rebuild year" and if anyone is gonna beat them, I'd gladly pick the Lions since they've waited for a team like theirs a LOT longer than we have.
That Baker fumble was a drag, but there was almost 12 minutes left. It was not converting that 1st down with really only inches for the 1st that did them in.
According to Cooper Kupp on the Rich Eisen show after the Rams won their last Super Bowl, the first two times Stafford and Kupp tried to run the jet sweep play that they used to convert 4th and 1, they botched it with fumbles. They had no time to run the play correctly at full speed. But Kupp and Stafford talked among themselves to come up with the key word that both would use to time up the handoff properly, and they told Sean McVay to keep the play in the playbook for the game. And then Sean McVay called that play with the Super Bowl on the line, no takebacks, and it worked perfectly.
Now hang on, international rules of blowing kisses say you can't count a double handed kiss as two kisses. Subrule 2.78653 says "... Kisses shall be counted by the number of times a player's mouth forms a kissing action, regardless of how many hands said player uses to deliver the kiss to the crowd." 😉
As someone with OCD, it was immediately clear to me what Gonzalez was doing. Touching your hair and scalp is a pretty common thing with OCD. I always love to see when people are able to repurpose their motor tics and other compulsions in a positive way.
That’s a good call, but it could also be him just being extremely nervous. People do weird things with their bodies subconsciously when they’re under stress and nervous as hell.
I was thinking that being a kicker has to be the worst career choice for someone with OCD. I can only imagine how much random shit he feels compelled to do in high pressure moments like that
0:49 I would pay good money to watch the Commanders decide not to go for it on 4th down and instead execute a perfect coffin-corner pooch punt from the 15 yard line.
I will agree with the no pass interference call both of them clearly engage you're crazy if you don't see Zach Ertz lower his helmet to create contact.
Seeing Zane Gonzalez talk openly about having genuine OCD is really cool. So much talk about mental health in football is about the warning signs of CTE and it's really inspiring to see someone be so open and non-chalant about it. The first step to getting treatment for your mental illness is to admit that it existw
