Tom was not allowed to drop the pistol or the Holo Computer to pick up the egg whilst in combat. (Page 18 of the Rule Book) This rule was also clarified in the in the Nemesis FAQ 2.0. - 1:02:55 - You can NOT perform a room action if there is an Intruder in the room and you are in combat (see previous comment). You also must shuffle ALL your Action cards including your discarded pile and non-infected contamination cards and place them as a new Action Deck (Page 25 of the Rule Book). Which means Tom should have PASSED and not moved into the Hibernatorium after undergoing surgery during that Round. Issac should also not have moved out of the surgery at 1:08:55 as he should have passed during his previous turn and stayed in the Surgery with the Breeder ready to take an attack (even though he shouldn't have been able to under go the surgery due to being in combat with the Breeder). - 1:10:56 - Even though Laurie didn't have any infected cards, he still needed to draw 4 cards and discard them anyway. - 1:44:07 - Duct tape can only be used to carry 2 Heavy ITEMS. In this case duct taping the Egg to the Holo Computer - Yes Adam that is so stupid and you aren't actually allowed to do it XD. - 1:48:40 - Tom forgot to draw a Intruder Attack card whilst making his Escape Basic Action. - (This one is from Part 1) Fire damage is caused on a Survivor at the end of their turn, which is after their two actions regardless if they pass or not. Not at the end of the Player phase like was initially stated. (Page 17 of the Rule Book) - I'm not sure if this was editing, but in part 1 players quite often forgot to check the back of the Intruder token to see if an Intruder made a surprise attack. This is very easy to forget when so much is happening. But it did appear to not happen later in the game. But, like I said this was a seriously entertaining two part series, with a great cast of players, unique personalities. Nemesis is a very rule heavy game so I don't blame anyone for forgetting or missing some of the rules. Tom and Sully certainly were the two most entertaining with Sully's buffoonery and Tom specious nature. But everyone played so well it was very entertaining to watch. I can't wait to see you guys play Lockdown. Mansions of Madness would be great too. Also, I'm well aware that pointing out many of the times you missed the rules makes me sound like a real sweaty nerd. But I was just reading the rule book as you played along to learn the rules a bit deeper. It is much easier to clarify situations when you aren't at the table and watching everything after the fact. I didn't point everything out to be a kill joy, just merely so anyone watching can learn a bit better and be clear on how to play the game.
> When Adam was Re-spawned did Laurie put him in the wrong room? Laurie put him in the same room as Sully when he was supposed to be in the Surgery with the Adult Intruder. This one wasn't a mistake, I don't think. Adam "died" because the alien attacked him when he escaped to Sully's room. So it's correct that after putting him back on the board, he should be put in that room.
A few more rules mistakes: From part 1: Watch out for the “heavy item” icon on item cards you draw in a Search action. Aside from the aforementioned fact that Tom picked up an egg illegally (i.e. in combat), I think he also did it while carrying both his weapon and a fire extinguisher, which should’ve occupied both his hands. (Laurie also picked up a fire extinguisher and put it into his items rather than his hands, but I don’t think he picked up any other heavy items.) 33:23 - you don’t get to decide who gets attacked, even in a tie. It goes to the earliest player in the player order in the current round (i.e. the player with the “first player” token, or the closest to them). 53:33 - from the Engine Control Room, you can check *all 3 engines at once*, not one at a time. 1:18:18 - can’t use Knowledge of the Ship while in combat; it specifically has the “not in combat” icon on it. (Also, Laurie somehow uses this card again on his same turn at 1:21:40?) In general (several timestamps, lost track of them all) - intruder movement happens *before* you resolve the event. That’s why there’s intruder movement on e.g. the “all intruders not in combat are removed from the board” card - they might move into a room with a human, and then be exempt from being removed. (It wouldn’t make sense the other way around, since any intruders in combat can’t move, and any intruders not in combat would already be removed.)
34:25 When in combat, intruders do not move (see page 10 of the rulebook). intruder movement - All Intruders sharing the Intruder Symbol shown on the Event card (and that are NOT in a Room with any Characters) move to a neighboring Room through the Corridor showing the number on the Event card.
Brilliant as always. I don't know about anyone else but I would love more big long board games format i.e Death may die, nemesis expansion, some legacy games. I understand the inconvenience and hard work that I am asking for, I am just so charmed by the fact that I can watch people play a board game and be so invested in what's happening. I am already on board.
Wait it’s not Tuesday but Yayy board game club Friday! can’t wait to see how drunk Captain Sullivan endangers his crew 🤣🤣🤣 UPDATE after watching the video: I was not disappointed. Also this would be a great movie
Great fun to watch you play. Love the RP and general vibe of the table. I do have to point out, for anyone watching getting a sense of the rules, that there were some signifying rules issues: 1. You cannot careful move out of combat, you can only regular move to try to escape. 2. Intruders in combat do NOT move as a result of the event card. They stay in combat. 3. You cannot use a room action in combat. Basically combat is a lot more deadly and dangerous than it was played here.
Sully is right. Isaac is a good man and a really self-less player. I respect that. (Unless I reach the end of the episode and he's been plotting this entire time heh :-D
Laurie spent a valuable energy charge for the wrong item - it's Orbital Manuvering System that requires an energy charge, not the evac key. (Don't get OMS unless you want to kill your team, it's not great) 53:50 Engine Control Room lets you check ALL engines for the 2-cost. Yes, it's overpowered and great and the best optional room. 1:04:30 You cannot use room actions in combat, or carefully move which was done a lot. In combat, you can shoot, you can melee, or you can run. Otherwise the action card or item needs no symbol or a combat symbol (gun), and most are no-combat symbols (gun crossed out). You'll never get attacked in combat for doing things except running, except during intruder attack in Event Phase. Surgery makes you full pass with a full card discard and gives you 1 light wound as well. 1:24:00 A bunch of Adult aliens and the Breeder should have moved around the ship here. Remember that the aliens move before you do any event text, this is important for things like "Lurking". Breeder would have came into scientist's room.
If I could animate Tom the scientist running back towards the egg after turning the sprinklers on, only the be bitten in half by the intruder, centimeters away from reaching his precious, with the terrified Captain Sullivan witnessing the scene, pausing for a moment then taking the egg with him in the hibernation capsule then the whole scene with Sully giving his eulogy, leaving the egg on the gravestone only for it to hatch I would. God that would be amazing!
As a game this is a bit heavy for me, I like the lighter less rules-y stuff like Snakesss or Cheese Thief, but I’m glad everyone else has really enjoyed this
So I have been a fan for a long time. Wrestle talk, the works. I never really been a fan of board games but watching part one and part two of Nemesis has made me want to buy this one. I asked my roommates if they would play this if I bought it and they said yes. I believe I am going to buy it. Thank you Adam and all the NRB crew for what you do. May even buy some of the great board games you guys have played in video past.
@@readilium3432 I have found a copy. At the moment haven't been able to get it. Holiday's n all. I will be able to buy it by the end of January, with the 2 expansion packs as well.
Your videos are such a pleasure to watch. Your chemistry as a group and the hilarious unpredictable outcomes never fail to entertain. I would love to see you all play the Galeforce 9 version of Dune - it feels like there are some great role playing possibilities in there.
Mild rules lawyering - Isaac can't rest at 23:00 because he's in combat (indicated by the icon on the rest card with an through a gun) Also 1:04:00 1) Isaac can't perform surgery because he's in combat 1:08:30 2) Performing surgery forces you to pass, discard your hand, reshuffle your deck, and wounds you Also at 1:17:00 the alien doesnt get an attack when it goes to the next person, they only attack if you leave the room or once everyone passes, so he could've duct taped his items, picked up the egg, let the turn go around and then leave and still only gotten attacked the once 1:34:00 They forgot to have the alien attack Sully At 1:48:00 they could've all started melee attacking it if they really wanted, but at 1:48:30 the alien should've attacked Tom as he left the room
there are many more mistakes. the danger roll does not fill up the corrodors with noise if there is an intruder in a neighboring room, that is not in combat. in that case the intruder moves to the player. also a intruder does not move out of combat during the event card phase. they got that wrong throughout the playthrough and it would habe massively changes the outcome
1:51:00 Holy shit Sully saved the game at the start repairing the generator (if the ship is in self destruct sequence at the end of the game, it explodes killing everyone on board)
I'm wondering if/when they're going to notice Sully is putting the same Adult token into the bag over and over, because he discards it to the top of the pile, and then pulls from the top of the pile to fill the bag....
Excellent video - been playing this with friends for a while like mad and it was still a blast to see you interact and have fun. One note - when aliens move on Events, those engaged in combat stay put :)
Extremely entertaining. Clarified a lot of rules (from mistakes as well) so it was really helpful. @1:11:53 I don't believe Tom when he said he wasn't infected. Shifty eyes 😁
Thank you guys! I had to stay a bit longer than expected in the hospital after surgery. As an insomniac I really needed some entertainment during the nights, which you definitely provided! And laughter is the best medicine after all.
I just finished watching Part 2 of Nemesis, and I've watched Part 1 a few times before today, and I've got to say: It's an amazing game, and I had so much fun watching both parts of this game! Keep up the amazing work!
I continue to not know what my favourite friendship on the channel is. It’s either Adam & Blair or Tom & Sullivan and dammit this two partner has not made my decision easier. XD
Fantastic play through! The bit with Isaac having used surgery to remove the larva then avoiding instant death from the rounds event card was fantastic! I dropped my choccy hob nob into my tea with shock! Hilarious stuff lads.
With the event card around 01:34:00, the intruders in a space with a character cannot move, can they?I thought that once they are in a room with a character they won't move. Maybe I am wrong. Very enjoyable to watch!!
No you are right, they will not move if they are in combat. Unfortunately they make a lot of mistakes. Like using room actions while an intruder is in the room, moving carefully while retreating is also not possible. The mechanic ends his turn in a room with fire and takes no damage, the soldier moving away from an intruder and rolling danger, so the intruder should basically following him instead they only put noise tokens up. And some more stuff that is wrong, but still really enjoyed watching this game.
@@MarcelloAlbretto it's s game with many rules and my party still makes some mistakes after 4-5 playthroughs and all the mistakes you described are in favour of the player but normally it's a very punishing game with very low rate of success
@@mel_from_hell Yeah that is true. But somehow I feel liike something like Arkham and Eldritch horror are way more complicated. If they would have played everything correctly, they would not have that much success in the game. Only played it twice now, and both times we lost against the game. But its still fun to play!
@@MarcelloAlbretto I agree totally we won first time but by messing the rules haha. Then only losses but I keep playing it. Also, imo always semi co-op, makes it much more fun. I played Eldritch horror in the past, I think that the rules are more straightforward than nemesis, in nemesis there are many things to be FAQ'ed and many cases are written within other paragraphs so it is kind of chaotic I believe
Great video guys! Love this game. There was however couple major mistakes with the rules. First, intruders don't move if they're in the same room with the player. Second, you can't do careful movement when in combat and escaping. Third, you can't use room action when in combat. Because of these the game wasn't punishing as it should have been for you guys. Thanks for the video!
@@alexanderhummel927 It's somewhat fine because they also used Engine Control Room 3 times when they should have done it once, and they were so new to the game they played a little poorly in parts. Probably already said, but you guys forgot to move intruders with this event card 48:55 and adults don't move when in the same room with a character " is considered to be in combat" 58:10 awasome game and funny playthrough thoa!
This was quite the epic game to watch! I will say that I really liked it better as a "everyone has their own objectives but no one is directly trying to hurt other players" game than with a true free-for-all or betrayal fest. It let people choose to maybe risk it all to help each other or to fight desperately together against a game that is trying to kill them. The game seems hard enough without people trying to go after you.
This is the best game of any Nemesis game I've watched, and I will now duly back the original in the current Nemesis : Retaliation campaign as it looks so much better than the new game (and less fiddly than Lockdown, which I do like, but would be harder to teach). Great and truly cinematic experience - bravo!
This whole thing kinda reminds me of playing Arkham Horror (board version). Full on insanity, cooperation that gets very shouty, and a timer that seems ok at first and then slam dunks on you a few rounds in 😂
Huge fan of all your videos, and especially this one! Nemesis is such an awesome game! However, rule question at 34:33: you are moving the adult out of the cockpit there. I think the rules state that intruders don't move if they are in the same room with a player or did I get something wrong? Anyway, so enjoyable, keep up the good work!
I had this on my watch later for some weeks because it seemed like a game where I'd have to pay full attention to understand what's happening, but now I've watched it and it's absolutely my favourite so far!!

@@1up20x6 Ah that's right, I missed that.
A few more rules mistakes:
From part 1: Watch out for the “heavy item” icon on item cards you draw in a Search action. Aside from the aforementioned fact that Tom picked up an egg illegally (i.e. in combat), I think he also did it while carrying both his weapon and a fire extinguisher, which should’ve occupied both his hands. (Laurie also picked up a fire extinguisher and put it into his items rather than his hands, but I don’t think he picked up any other heavy items.)
33:23 - you don’t get to decide who gets attacked, even in a tie.
(Also, Laurie somehow uses this card again on his same turn at 1:21:40?)
In general (several timestamps, lost track of them all) - intruder movement happens *before* you resolve the event.
@@wisquatuk Good catches. Indeed you are correct.
Don't apologize for pointing out rules, I always watch videos like this when I buy a game but haven't played it like this and it's very helpful.
The 18:42 "THE QUEEN IS DEAD" moment became 100% funnier.
same thing with "trickle-down fuckonomics"
“I’ve been looking forward to this.”
Let’s see how this sequel ends, this is gonna be great.
"Good. Twice the pride, double the fall!"
13:00
Tom: Who do you love Sullivan?
Sully: I love all bæbīëš
I have no idea how to read the board itself, I’m just chilling listening to everyone’s joint narration
34:25 When in combat, intruders do not move (see page 10 of the rulebook).
intruder movement - All Intruders sharing the Intruder
Symbol shown on the Event card (and that are NOT in a Room with
any Characters) move to a neighboring Room through the Corridor
showing the number on the Event card.
What a great way to carry on excellent day. My dad has his cancer removed and a new BGC. I literally couldn't be happier
Congratulations to your dad! So glad your day's gone well!🥰
Great news
Congratulations friend-o! Hope your dad stays healthy for many years!
LAURIE: So pleased to hear about your dad, that's great news!
Congrats.
"Everything's coming up.. science.. house...... Nailed it." Tom is my absolute favorite in this game.
NOOOOOO I'M HEARTBROKEN. TOM MY BELOVED, YOU SHOULD'VE LIVED!!!
YES YES YES SULLIVAN MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!!
1:32:12 Gather ‘round children, and hear the ballad of Captain Adrian Bumblefuck.
i love how duct taping 2 heavy items together somehow makes them lighter
Brilliant as always. I don't know about anyone else but I would love more big long board games format i.e Death may die, nemesis expansion, some legacy games. I understand the inconvenience and hard work that I am asking for, I am just so charmed by the fact that I can watch people play a board game and be so invested in what's happening. I am already on board.
Very nice ending lads. would love another game!!!
I can’t wait for the day they play eldritch horror. It’s a big, sometimes frustrating, clunky, mess but it’s my favorite game of all time
This was single-handedly THE best play through of Nemesis I've ever seen, including my own play throughs
You boggled up a few rules, but this was insanely fun to watch. Love Cap'n Sully.
Wait it’s not Tuesday but Yayy board game club Friday! can’t wait to see how drunk Captain Sullivan endangers his crew 🤣🤣🤣
UPDATE after watching the video: I was not disappointed. Also this would be a great movie
I'm hoping he'll pull off an actual Captain Sully
@@Lezzyboy87 Land the ship!
What a great playthrough of a wonderfully designed game!!!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!!
Laurie spent a valuable energy charge for the wrong item - it's Orbital Manuvering System that requires an energy charge, not the evac key. (Don't get OMS unless you want to kill your team, it's not great)
53:50 Engine Control Room lets you check ALL engines for the 2-cost.
Do you feel better now?
23:00 can't rest while in combat either
18:40 Wow - that was some foreshadowing
That was my favorite in person game so far. It was intense and way fun to watch! Thank you Capt Sullivan Beau Brown for being a true Science Bro!
Everytime Sully's hand goes in the bag all that runs through my mind is "Look here comes a consequence, consequence, consequence...."
When someone says "Sullivan Bo-" my brain immediately fills in "Bullivan."
Isaac is having the most cursed game of Nemesis I have ever seen. 😀😁
This video is further proof, if it were needed, that Tom is the best BGC cast member. RIP Tom; you died so that science may live.
This game was a wonderful epic. Would love to see more. Somehow, the tension seems to ratchet up even more when everyone is working together.
Mild rules lawyering - Isaac can't rest at 23:00 because he's in combat (indicated by the icon on the rest card with an through a gun)
Also
1:04:00
1) Isaac can't perform surgery because he's in combat
1:08:30
2) Performing surgery forces you to pass, discard your hand, reshuffle your deck, and wounds you
Also at 1:17:00 the alien doesnt get an attack when it goes to the next person, they only attack if you leave the room or once everyone passes, so he could've duct taped his items, picked up the egg, let the turn go around and then leave and still only gotten attacked the once
1:34:00 They forgot to have the alien attack Sully
At 1:48:00 they could've all started melee attacking it if they really wanted, but at 1:48:30 the alien should've attacked Tom as he left the room
there are many more mistakes. the danger roll does not fill up the corrodors with noise if there is an intruder in a neighboring room, that is not in combat. in that case the intruder moves to the player.
also a intruder does not move out of combat during the event card phase. they got that wrong throughout the playthrough and it would habe massively changes the outcome
also you can't ducktape an egg to something. eggs are objects not items. ducttape can only tape two heavy items together
another important one: you can't use any room action, while you are in combat
1:51:00 Holy shit Sully saved the game
at the start repairing the generator (if the ship is in self destruct sequence at the end of the game, it explodes killing everyone on board)
This is, in all honesty, the BEST playthrough of Nemesis on TH-cam. Will be purchasing this game ASAP. Thanks for the excellent content guys!
I'm wondering if/when they're going to notice Sully is putting the same Adult token into the bag over and over, because he discards it to the top of the pile, and then pulls from the top of the pile to fill the bag....
Adam: I HATE WORKING HERE
Sully: I love working here…
I love this channel and I wanna be Sullivan’s best friend 😂
Excellent video - been playing this with friends for a while like mad and it was still a blast to see you interact and have fun.
One note - when aliens move on Events, those engaged in combat stay put :)
100% you should make nemesis a regular board game club event..excellent job guys! 👍
What a fantastic 2-parter and one hell of a game! Wouldn't be against more of these videos featuring longer games, every now and then!
LAURIE: Trust me, we’re on it
@@NoRollsBarred Those words are like honey-dipped music to my ears
Extremely entertaining. Clarified a lot of rules (from mistakes as well) so it was really helpful.
@1:11:53 I don't believe Tom when he said he wasn't infected. Shifty eyes 😁
Thank you guys! I had to stay a bit longer than expected in the hospital after surgery. As an insomniac I really needed some entertainment during the nights, which you definitely provided! And laughter is the best medicine after all.
21:21. "Trickledown Fuckonomics" is DEFINITELY a thing.
Why do I get the strong feeling that this is Evil Adam convincing captain Sully to fly the ship into the sea...
I just finished watching Part 2 of Nemesis, and I've watched Part 1 a few times before today, and I've got to say: It's an amazing game, and I had so much fun watching both parts of this game! Keep up the amazing work!
This probably is the greatest game I've seen here. Sorry Cosmic Encounters.
Absolutely fantastic stuff.
This has to be a regular series like BOTC... PLEASE PEOPLE 🙏🙏🙏
thank you so much for making this video. only because of this video i could make nemesis board game at home
Wow
It’s only 1pm but this is already the highlight of my day. I can’t wait to see how Captain Sully kills them all
LAURIE: Not if we get there first
Oh man I watched this double parter back to back. Just the tensest thing, can't imagine actually playing it. Great entertainment, and poor Tom
I continue to not know what my favourite friendship on the channel is. It’s either Adam & Blair or Tom & Sullivan and dammit this two partner has not made my decision easier. XD
what about Dom and Sullivan?
Yay we didn't have to wait a week for pt. 2
LAURIE: Nope! This is a bonus! Next Tuesday you get a completely different game!
Which subsequently means they must replay))
I believe all the audience here will agree to this.
@@alexanderhummel927 It's somewhat fine because they also used Engine Control Room 3 times when they should have done it once, and they were so new to the game they played a little poorly in parts.
I would still love another Nemesis playthrough as NRB's was the best on TH-cam! ( I don't enjoy Nemesis Lockdown)
@@TheWeapon33 that’s exactly what intended: to make it then play again somehow))
Commented almost exactly the same thing and then scrolled down to find yours. Also there was a point where the Scientist took an attack while he was picking up objects, which I don’t think is a thing.
It felt like i was watching an Alien spin off, and it was a fantastic one too.
Never thought i would get so excited for a TH-cam video.
Great video like always 🔥🔥🔥
I thought I'd be waiting a week for this! Praise and Glory be!
Uh bad time to watch this XD "The queen is dead"
Probably already said, but you guys forgot to move intruders with this event card 48:55 and adults don't move when in the same room with a character " is considered to be in combat" 58:10 awasome game and funny playthrough thoa!
Absolutely amazing. Please give us more adventures of the Nemesis crew in the future
I absolutely loved this series of Nemesis. Hope you do it again sometime in the future!
So Tom duct taped a screen to an egg... Does that mean he basically made a Tamagotchi? 😂
As mentioned in “Betrayal in the house on a hill”: What would a co-op game be without Tom dying?
Support No Rolls Barred! Give 'em a subscribe and Get on Board! What a great treat for a Friday night - one of the best Board Game Clubs!
This was the best video I’ve ever seen
LAURIE: You have impeccable taste
This is the best game of any Nemesis game I've watched, and I will now duly back the original in the current Nemesis : Retaliation campaign as it looks so much better than the new game (and less fiddly than Lockdown, which I do like, but would be harder to teach). Great and truly cinematic experience - bravo!
This whole thing kinda reminds me of playing Arkham Horror (board version). Full on insanity, cooperation that gets very shouty, and a timer that seems ok at first and then slam dunks on you a few rounds in 😂
I already said the Masterpiece episode put this game on my To Ge list, but this series has bumped it up in the priority list.
1:04:00 Youre not allowed to use room actions when in combat
Also when you do surgery you take a damage and end turn
I would love another two parter board game, I loved the epic feel of this one
I really miss playing substantial games like this so thank you team for lightly scratching that itch for me!
Is it just me or has Laurie on several occasions forgot to move the intruders through the corridors according to the icons shown on the event cards?
My favourite video on your channel so far! I would instantly watch another play through of this game.
I absolutely loved watching this game. I don’t think I’d ever have enough people to play it so thank you for the experience
Please play more than this it was so much fun to watch... PLEASE
Oh boy I cannot wait to see (what I'm sure is) the gripping end to this shitshow. Hey Laurie - are ya winning son?
LAURIE: I... DON'T...KNOW...
NAILED IT!! Science……………… house!!!!!
10:10 WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY?
