Been on a waiting list for these because every time I checked on the XB2's they were out of stock. I got an email notification today that they were available, and I immediately place my order. Surprise! They are on sale for $399! Can't wait for them. In the Emotiva order survey I gave this channel credit for turning me on to these speakers. Thanks Randy. I'll be running these through a Yamaha CR 800 receiver that I bought new 50 years ago in 1974.
You opened my ears with the B1+ and now you're teasing me again with these. Thank you for your time and efforts to first impression review these and share this with us all. Take care, Sir.
New series looks promising. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts, as usual. I can’t understand why some audiophiles can’t give Emotiva any respect. For the money they are an incredible value option. Keep it up Randy.
I took advantage of Emotiva's inventory close-out pricing around six months ago and my first purchase was the C1+ center channel...then the BasX A3 amp...and finally several months later I picked up the B2+ to complete the front stage in my HT rig. I'm quite happy with everything but I'm anxious to hear your take on the XT1 & XT2 towers because as a soon-to-be 64 year old fart I'm looking for end-game speakers which will keep me very happy until they plant me in the ground. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the heading on this video because I know how much you admire and enjoy Emotiva's speakers.
The B1+ got me started down the audio rabbit hole, for better and for worse. Thanks for getting the show only deal for those of us watching your live stream!
Got the B1+ and they shock me how good they are every time I hear them. With the new line, there were 3 things that stood out 1. There is no B1+ equivalent. Love the tiny tots. 2. The base. It goes down only to 55 as compared to 43 in prev Gen. Was one of the main reasons I went with Emotiva speakers. 3. The design. I'm pretty sure it's to do with sound throws and diffraction. But the angled cuts on the front of old Gen were very cool. Too plain on the new xb2. Planning to build a couple of towers at the moment so going to give this line up a miss at the moment. Am looking forward to the new line of amplifiers though. Thanks and take care Randy!
I like the clean look of the painted front baffle and new woofer trim rings that hide the screws👍🏻 I don’t really care for the vinyl sides. I think the speaker deserves full paint or wood veneer. Even as an option and extra charge. Good job Emotiva! I’m looking forward to seeing a high quality big floor stander from Emotiva! 🤞🏼🔈
This is one of my favorite vids from you Randy. I like the simplicity in production, feels honest and your relaxed sincere unapologetic love for Emotiva is appreciated. Been with you since a thousand subscribers or so, keep rolling man you're one of the very best audio channels out here.
Always liked Emotiva. I own their RMC1, XPA11, previously Emotive 4S powered speakers. I am sure sure they sound great. At the time I ended up with Klipsch RP600MIIs on sale since a bit over a year ago. Don't feel the need to change for awhile. Good to see new stuff from them. I have read mixed reviews about their center channels though, curious if its been improved.
Got an A2m running Tzero+ Towers and an SE12 sub after your reviews. Totally wonderful clarity, detail, and an top end. Bass management is super cool. All for under 1 kilobuck. Thanks for that! Excellent value! Love it
Ugh. These sound like awesome speakers. And the price is extremely reasonable. But I'm largely satisfied with the Def Tech 55s I've got. Not saying the sound couldn't be better, but they do have the nice feature of being paid for. When it comes to your own personal stereo system, what makes you decide to take the plunge, spend the money, and audition a new set of speakers? Knowing that you'll have to either junk your old speakers or make the effort to put them up on ebay to get a few bucks for them?
Clarity indeed with emotiva AMT tweeter without hitting the pocket. I have magnepan lrs+ btw and they do compete for attention with my emotiva b1+, they are that good.
Ordered some the other day, still waiting on shipping information. I plan on using them for near field music and movies on my desk. Paid $519 with shipping/tax. 3/8/24
Ya that’s a steal for that. The 06 models are coming very soon. They used to use AKM dac’s before factory fire then they went to TI chip set. Love it if the new ones would have the AKM 4499. If so I would definitely upgrade my main avr (vsx-lx 504)
Currently own the B1+ as well as one of their center channel speakers and just purchased their 10" Subwoofer which is a friggin tank 66lbs and sounds amazing. Plus I get a military discount. Will be buying one of their floor standing speakers in the future. Great products!
I wish more speakers would come in walnut or cherry finish. Black is always the basic finish. I would upgrade to these Emotivas over my Klipsch RM-150 speakers (male vocals are a bit recessed) but which have a nice cherry finish and are some of the more beautiful looking speakers. If only speaker manufacturers would offer different veneers by default.
I received the XB2 speakers last week and I love them already :) Thanks for pointing these out Cheapaudioman! Driving them with a Vidar amp and Bifrost dac.
They sound great. I liked them better with a sub compared to the XT1 tower because the towers placed their bass woofer near the floor and that layout did not work well for my room. Plus there was a cabinet resonance in the towers that I could hear in the mid bass on some music due to there being no brace in the lower half of the tower cabinet. My go to track to hear this resonance is “Just enjoy the ride” by Morcheeba. The floor Tom hit will always sound louder than it’s suppose to on speakers with cabinet resonance in that area.
Great review...!!! These Emotiva Airmotiv XB2s sound like an ideal choice for a 2.1 system... Throw in another $500 or so for a subwoofer... possibly something from SVS, and ta-daaaahhh...!!! For approximately $1,000US, you are ready to rock in style ...!!! These days... the price to performance ratio is so much better than it was in the 70's... All music, at all times, is great, but it seems the bar on equipment price/value has been raised noticeably...!!!
Who the f is helping you with your recent videos? 😀 New level, next level and really cool. The "real" content is the same and we love that of course, but this makes stuff even better! 🇸🇪
The day drinker is stoked to hear the review of the Xt1s. Got myself a first gen pair and a 1st get T2’s hopeful for the ‘sweet spot’ to be larger. Because there is literally one spot in my room where they perform the best. But that is a bummer. Seems the older stuff is best in a dedicated space with a static seat.
My God, it's a copy of the Adam T5V monitor active speakers, visually speaking but I'm sure they're different beast :) Randy you must do a review of the Adam A series A7V, it will blow your mind!!!
I bought a pair of Emotiva B1 when the pricing dropped and love them. Either my ears are getting better or these speakers take a ton of time to break in. This isn’t a bad thing, they just seem to get more detailed over time.
I think my problem with Emotiva speakers are that they are rated for 4ohm usually so they really lend themselves for expensive amps or amps in house. Not bad speakers by any means. I just wish they would not do this 4ohm crap.
Building a home theater in a small area, having a REALLY hard time making a decision between these and the Focal Theva’s. For clarity and dialogue intelligibility. Airy space and so on… which one?
I'm not replacing birria with UltraCrunch for dinner, but it might be good for breakfast😉 It's good to know that Emotiva once again delivered excellent value.

I just bought a Denon 7.2 netwrok AVR and didnt realize it doesnt have preouts......I was going to run it into an Emotiva Basx 7 chamnel amp......OOPS 😂😂😂 However my Denon (75 RMS watts per channel) is handling everything very nicely! I enjoyed the comparison you did of Emotiva bookshelves and the Paradigm SE Atom bookshelves and am saving my pennies for a pair of white Atoms to compliment my new Paradigm SE6000F's. I have little baby Polk Signature ES10's for my rear channles (which sound great) BUT I think the Atoms would be a better match with my front sound stage.

Sharing your thoughts after multiple music tracks and video is helpful… 2 questions … what spec or general info am I researching to see how the timbre of these would match what I own for LCR ? Hi Randy..... I'm not sure if it's somehting at your end, I'm pretty sure it's not at mine, but the audio track on your videos (other than your weekly live shows) are around 20% lower than any other creator videos I watch. I always have to crank up the volume to hear what you are saying. Oddly enough the interlude music between your chapters comes in at a higher volume, about 10% louder than your voice track. Just thought I'd raise this. Wonder if anyone else is experiencing this.
HDF is denser(surprise) than MDF. MDF is about 50 lbs per cubic foot, HDF is about 65 lbs per cubic foot, it is bonded at high pressure and contains more resins and binders. In theory HDF should be less prone to cabinet vibrations, resonances.

I am looking to switch to some bookshelf speakers in my living room. Was thinking these, pro ject speaker box s2, or svs ultras. Feel like they are all wildly different.
I will be curious to hear reviewers impressions of the center channels with the off-center Twitter and mid range. I feel like that was a mistake, but Emotiva does know what they are doing so perhaps it sounds just fine.
I haven't used a center channel for HT in over a year. I don't feel like I'm missing anything. If stereo center imaging is fine for music, then why do people buy into the idea that they need a strong center speaker for HT? Caveat, my room is small, so I'm sure that factors in.
I just bought the Aperion Novus speakers as they are on huge discount right now as per your recommendation. Now I am wondering what kind of dac and amp to pair with them. Would be awesome if I could also use them over bluetooth but basically they would be connected to my desktop PC playing music from Tidal. Could you give me some recommendations? Thank you.
the XT3s are insane, fill my huge basement with beautiful sound even just using Fosi BT30D pro. try them, blow my prime pinnacles away. These XB2s are also really nice, got them in place of my prime pinnacle towers to see how they compare and they are currently doing really well. very bright at first but the lows are coming out after a few hours of playing. Pairing the XB2s with 2 SSCS5s as surrounds and SVS SB1000 Pro on my denon S970H with my PC streaming Amazon Music HD as the source is really pleasing to the ear. They reach surprisingly deep for being this size. Turned off the sub to see how it sounded and while the deep rumbling goes away there is still enough bottom end to feel full. Rock sounds really nice, everything accoustic (AiC, Nirvana, Soundgarden) has been beautiful so far. Even bass heavy rap songs have been solid. Only song i had to switch from so far was eminem where he ended up being way too high pitched for me even with EQ turning the highs down. might revisit after some break in time.
I'm a little skeptical of ribbon tweeters, though I've yet to hear any in speakers designed for HiFI. My Adam A7X just aren't that fun to listen to music on, compared to something like my KEFs. (outside of electronic/synth based, which shines on them) .. They're absolutely great for clinically analyzing audio/music production/mastering -- but way too clinical and harsh for most of my listening enjoyment tastes.

I haven't used a center channel for HT in over a year. I don't feel like I'm missing anything. If stereo center imaging is fine for music, then why do people buy into the idea that they need a strong center speaker for HT? Caveat, my room is small, so I'm sure that factors in.
They looks great.
They got rid of the funny cabinet shape!
Dunno the difference? MDF = Medium Density Fibre, HDF = High Density Fibre.
I use Adams speakers as casual listening as well as monitors. Very similar to these. They sound heavier I guess than my B&W 607's
Well I guess similar in looks only
I’d love to compare these with Aurum Cantus Leisure 2 SE MKII (V2M is the updated version)
Thank you.
B1+ are 48hz to 28hz
Looking at Emotiva's product line I'm thinking an all emotiva setup would be awesome
How do they compare to Martin Logan’s
Will they ever do different colours.. white ones would be cool.
that would be cool
My guess is that they keep prices down by simplifying logistics. Offering multiple finishes might break that business model.
White has been hinted at. I think it was mentioned in one of their podcasts. I’d love to see that too.
Glad they finally moved to this more classic design. speakers are furniture, and that previous shape had a few too many angles for me.
So, one could only buy stuff from Emotiva and would be a happy camper?!? Sounds good 😅
depends if you like the sonics. if you want a warm speaker then I wouldn't recommend the emotivas. their amps are pretty legit though
From what I read HDF is denser and stronger than MDF.
Which is better these or SVS prime?
i accidentally just ordered these and the XT3 pair. not sure how that happened.
the XT3s are insane, fill my huge basement with beautiful sound even just using Fosi BT30D pro. try them, blow my prime pinnacles away.
Can please you do a review of the new Edifier S3000MKII? :)
How are the towers vs the bookshelf xb2?
Put the product in the title for the love of god
sold out already ...
I am happy with my XT2s...
Looks a bit like the Adam T7V studio monitors.
He is probably going to cry listening to them!
Have you tried these with the WiiM amp?
