- Tired of my cameras' poor sound quality, I decided to try to record the sound through my cell phone. I am quite happy with the result, but judge for yourself. However,I was not happy with the post-processing. The tweaking and conversion of various files was a nightmare. So, to you experts out there: please give me a good recommendation on a (free) software which can extract sound from various video formats and, ideally, also convert sound files.
13 years later and we're still loving this video! Beautiful bike, I just bought a 2002 identical to this
They say Internet never forgets and your comment is living proof. Thanks Troy R for your comment - and good luck with your machine, I am sure you will love it! By the way, this is what I am riding since after my Daytona. It turned out to be too blody fast for me. th-cam.com/video/-4TODOG1Pr4/w-d-xo.html
No matter what year is it, the sound of a triple never gets old. By the way, nice setup from 10 years ago! I'm actually impressed how the sound quality came out.
I can't believe its been what, six years, since I published this video. And comments are still coming in! Thanks guys!
It's a hell of a bike. Most beautiful and rare Daytona designed by Triumph
11 Years - 2020
Replying in 2021..lol
Was your speedo out, or were you actually doing nearly 200km/h in one section..?
The scenery certainly didn't look as if it was passing as quickly as your gauge was showing..🤔
@@IceBoNeZ This is a very late answer, sorry for that. You are correct, I clocked the speedometer and it showed 10% too much.

one hell of an awesome setup. Even tough its an (now old phone), it sounds better than many videos nowadays! Great!
Love that triple howl, especially above 7-8k!
Looking back at this - and how I miss that bike!
I'm actually getting ready to go pick my 2000 up, only 11000 miles, hope mine will sound as good as this, thanks for sharing
Simply AMAZING!!! I am buying the exact model in a few days and was looking for a review. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you
Great sound and what a road!
Just bought my 2nd 955i Daytona after missing the 1st one so much, they're such an underrated bike.
Thanks for the video!
Excellent result on both the sound and video there... Everyone who posts bike rides on TH-cam should follow your example and get it right... Video was pretty steady, and sound was full and not distorted in any way... LOVED it! Also, that is a wonderful stretch of road you picked... Lots of "character" to it. That looks like the best stretch of road in the world to learn curves on! :D
I have a black 2006 955i. Last production year. I have 60,000 miles and love this bike. Thanks for posting.
Good luck with it mate - and drive smart!
Sound is splendid! I want one of these for the stable!
Nice video! I own a 955i mod 2002 since 2003 and still enjoying the ride. No serious problems. I like that you drive in a sensible way.
Very nice well done in separating the sound. This video now convinced me to get a 955i ST. Thank you!
Thank you guys (2manysecrets2, Mattmp36 and 955nsim). I´m from Sweden and the road is located south of a little town called Perstorp in southern part of the country. It's a popular road and summer days (and nights) you can see the locals wringing the necks of their bikes here...
I used to own a 955i, it was a great bike: I miss it. I think this film is great. Well done my friend.
This video was one of the movies that sold me on buying a "big D". I love that you capture the valve train sound as well as the exhaust, because the valve train sounds like nothing else.
Mines a bit louder exhaust, and I am SO addicted to the 7-11k RPM noise at WOT, I get the chills every single time I rip through the top end:)
Thank you! Drive carefully and good luck!
I'll be posting my videos of my 02 Daytona CE soon motor didn't start for ten years now it's purring like a gazelle 🤗
Underrated bike
I got a 04’ Black edition
Best bike I’ve ever had 👍🏻
Glad you like our export :)
I have a T595, the 955i was abit too pricey when I was looking for a bike. Gonna try and hit the 955i one day too :)
Good vid.
The sound of the three cylinders is beautiful.
@ilwzxvn
Thank you very much for those encouraging words! I am glad you liked it; makes me want to improve it, as I am sure it can. I am actually on the look-out for a new camera so...
Thanks again!
When i heard your accent I understood you are Swedish too 😉
Great video, great driving! Nice to see someone that can drive fast and flowing without losing their head completly.. Those people often end up dead in a ditch, unfortunately. Keep it up and stay safe!
Thanks!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
The very first motovlog
The sound of that bike is pretty cool.
Wow that road looks awesome
Nice riding too and that bike sounds great
Wow, and I just wanted to share the great sound. Good luck mate!
Hi there. Yes, correct. I bought it when the bike was new and it stayed on for the entire time I owned the bike. Great quality although the can got slightly louder as the years passed by.
Fantastic sound !!!! Love it :D!!!
Really nice, I'm looking for a new bike and I think i'll go for a Daytona, I like everything about this bike
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment! I can agree on the 1000cc reasoning - the competition in the business is murderous and you need to be at the front all the time. Triumph has the 1050 cc engine - that in a light sport frame should be fun! Plus all the fun electronics that are coming along, just look at the new Ducati Multistrada...
Awesome sound. I just bought a 2011 daytona 675se and love it.
Nice, sounds great to be honest! I had a 2007 955i (have a sprint st now) but miss the 955i, thanks for vid, you did a good job!
Wow, thanks. I don't rate myself as a top rider so your comment is really nice!
@mommathinksimugly + KingCast: thanks guys, appreciate the comments!
Reliability has been very good. I had two factory service checks (something with the ignition which never bothered me) + a check of the steering stem (no problem). I had a warped front brake disc (very expensive) and... that's it. Just ordinary service.
But: I have now sold the beloved 955i. I just got a Scrambler 900. Watch this space!
Awesome, awesome, thank you. I am waiting for a replacement engine on my '02 Sprint the dreaded crankshaft shatter. Meantime I have your video ;)
The Definitive Ode to Triumph Sprint 955i movie (with Powermax exhaust)
Yep, Sweden it is. As for the speedo, I have actually clocked it - it shows 10% too much so you are right.
Det looks like som Skåne?
Ah, you are one lucky guy! Enjoy it and ride safely!
I have an opportunity to buy an old 955i. Really really thinking about it. Currently have a 929rr but I just love 3 cylinders so it’s a hard decision😂
beautifully done.. lovely lovely sound. looking at one shortly. best regards from Eire
Good sound!!! One in one as mine with Bose)))
Thanks. I miss the power, for sure (riding a Scrambler now) but all things come to pass. Quite happy, actually, with less than half the power...
Its km. As for VelkejMarv´s comment: I´ll keep in mind and try to go a bit harder next time! (And thanks for the comments guys!)
It depends. In outright performance no (albeit it was really quick from 0-100 km/h). It had, however, a character and a soul of its own. As I once read in a bike magazine about a Honda: "It is probably and objectively the best quality money can buy. But all personality is surgically removed long before it reaches the assembly line".
Not so with my 955...
Thanks for the tips. I checked GoPro out and it looks like a nice system. As for the exhaust location, well maybe worth trying. The induction roar gives me goose bumps though...
good sound quallity man, but i was hoping to hear her roar a little bit more :( you gear up at 8.000 revs, that's when the real roar begins :( but still great vid and a nice piece of road ;)
this video makes me want to pick up a triple cylinder sports bike for 2k
ryan h i just picked up a 01 with 12k miles on it in great shape and runs flawlessly for only $2300. Do it!! Its an absolute blast to ride
- Nice! A very mature piece of film showing that most of the bikeriding is not about speed! its more a about finding " Inner Peace " !?=) Bless
I have been looking through the various Daytona, ST and RS clips......there are MANY who time and again say "How I miss that bike," or "The best bike I have had," or "now 100,000 km on my Triumph and loving it.........So try to find another one!
I have a ST, Flensburg with about 20,000 km....if you are interested. As I also have a RS, I am considering selling one of them.....
@nVidiaDevon Hi there. Yepp, you are right, the camera is kind of cheepo. Havent gotten around to the GoPro yet though. I have seen other films here made with GP and it seems like a really nice camera.
Gorgeous sound of that wonderful triple, and really nice smooth riding. I just REALLY wish that at 7-52, you had nailed it to 10K - that would have been great to see and hear. Was the speedo set on KPH?
+BigFatRoundCuddlyTed
Hi, yes, I live in Sweden so we use Km/h. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks mate. Antoine719 (below) suggested the GOPRO camera which seems like a nice choice. Check it out. Now, ideally the camera should have good sound recording capabilities but I am NOT an expert on this. Talk to the camera sales people to learn more. Bluetooth should work but I dont know the quality of the sound recording. Make a sound test with you phone, if it has Bluetooth.
Bravo! I love this bike!
Good morning.. 2021... Looking at getting one of these or the gen one. How was this bike? Handle well fast etc?
Mean video..I have exact model in new Zealand
Nice sound and Nice bike
Almost sounds like an 80's / 90's Lamborghini, no joke.
3s sound , hell yeah !
that was a great video and the some was awesome. i am buying a 98' 595 this week. only 6k on the odometer. how has the reliability been?
Nice video!
Tur att man inte behöver åka ner till norra Skåne för att uppleva sköna vägar,
dock verkar det alltid krylla av 4-benta gjädjedödare på våra favoritvägar
Nice bike and nice road, if I were you I would use another camera like the GOPRO and I would place the microphone at the rear of the bike near the exhaust and away from the wind.
men var nånstans åker du? vet du var kungsbacka/fjärås ligger? där är det fin vägar om man kan göra runt en sjö som e tre mil runt, hehe
Nice video and wonderful sound. To me this sounds like you have the Triumph race can (muffler). Is that correct?
That does sound good... my god.
Hi there;
No, never. Its been steady as a clock. But then I have always been careful with service, including spark plugs.
magnifique video ;-)
Lovely jet engine :)
hey i have the same bike! i noticed that its a bit bigger for a sportbike and that event the wheelbase looks a bit longer. could this be why i find it harder to wheelie?
great road nice bike .
What a road!
Hi, sorry for late reply! I was never a "heavy speeder" but I saw 265 km/h a couple of times on the speedo. I am sure other Daytona 955:ers on TH-cam have better answers!
Hi;
The tachometer works OK as far as I know; the speedometer shows 10% too much (clocked).
Spot on son.
i ride a 2004 speed triple se. with a zard and it sounds good. your bike sounds fuckin awseome.
Mile or kms ???
Nice bike
Same the movie Torque with Ice Cube
where is this road!?
The speedo versus the perspective is so weird, looks so much slower!
Junglist Movement Smooth ridin' :-)
haha, I'm sure ;)
hypercatjohn bear in mind that it's km/h and not mph.
Beautiful bike and road... where does the road happen to be?
ska inte reservnyckeln hänga hemma ifall du tappar den andra nyckeln? :)
@elfredo70 Thank you!
thats pretty cool.i do 70 miles a day to work and back on one of these babies..but hell dude.if i did that on that side of the road i would be dead by the time i got to argos.
MURDER!!!! You killed Sponge Bob!!!
Nice riding by the way......where is this road?
The road is located south of a little town called Perstorp in southern part of Sweden. It's a popular road and summer days (and nights) you can see the locals wringing the necks of their bikes here...
Hi Gas,
I am looking at getting a second hand Daytona for a fun bike. 51 not quite ready for it as my only bike. Why did you choose the 955 over the 675 and can you compare the two in any way ?
Cheers
Shane Hobart Tasmania Australia. :-)
I bought the 955 brand new in 2003, the 675 came out 2006. The 675 is an impressive machine - but I like the bottom grunt that bigger engines deliver.
How much is top speed Daytona 955i ???
best. clasical best :)
Vart ligger vägen? Skåne någonstans?
Addep Sorry for late answer. Yes, its Scania, south of Perstorp.
Hi there, it was a 2002.
Det är inte reservnyckeln, det är till hänglåset.
you don't rev the motor
I had my CE955i up to 306km/ph once with a little left on the dial. They will outdo a GSXR1000 up to about 130 with torque from a standstill, then the GSKR1000 screams past. Man I miss my 955i. Have you got any videos of just the ride without all the buildup?
✌🏿😜 🏁 🏍️ 🏁 🏍️ 🏁 🏍️ 🏁 🏍️✌🏿😎
Way too much bike for the road
That speedo has to be way off.^^
Yep, clocked it; it showed 10% too much.
Didn't realise this had already been mentioned..lol
AHHHHH ITS TOO SEXY!
