Well I like the fact I can get a red talon demolitions character So I can pick programming, pharma and get him without paying prestige and get pretty much all the benefits. without 4 characters used. Other then that it's mostly a pass. I usually just go in get him then leave.
That's definitely one of the most critical components is getting an RT without paying prestige. I honestly wind up just kicking him out eventually though since I don't really use munitions/electronics.

The Red Talon character's appearance is always the same model (although he gets a random name and random traits), so he kinda feels like a main character. Gotta rescue him and put him in the Legacy Pool at the very least.
I've never used the RT bunkhouse but that's crazy. I have two characters where one has -1 beds used and +2 beds and the other has +2 beds, so thats 5 beds and they also have other traits like morale and I think threat reduction. They are my two favourite characters apart from my main character as with their 5 beds they basically free up a slot or save me two outposts! When it comes to infestations I'm someone who just ignores them. Like I used to deal with them but I'd go deal with one or two and then on my way back to my base to prep for something else, I'd get a notification saying there were another infestation just seconds after dealing with them! So they become nothing more than a chore that I just got fed up with, and I realised it was less hassle to just negate the morale hits from them which let me get on playing the game!
Thing is that on the beta, you can't ignore them because they don't have a limit on sieges like in the normal game. In the beta? They will send as many sieges as they possibly can, and you only get 1 minute to return home, or you lose 3 ammo. So in the beta, you will get bankrupted on ammo in minutes.
I have a green zone community here just farming CLEO ammo and items for my primary community. Also a good source of CLEO drop random weapons if you are totally Daybreak averse and hate it / haven't unlocked many CLEO items. It's the ONLY way to get CLEO ammo and items that I am aware of that DOES NOT use any PP, just Influence to use the relay built in here. Green zone is easy influence, so I load up, legacy pool a noobie, parachute him or her into my main community (a lethal zone currently), and pack-mule over the CLEO ammo. NO MORE DAYBREAK!! More or less.... you know....unless you want a Red Talon community member or whatever.... And don't forget.... Only YOU use ammo.... Giving your community members CLEO guns lets them use them infinitely. CLEO Heavy Snipers and CLEO auto-shotties work well for my base defenders. I only use the CLEO Heavy Sniper myself, and sparingly at that, so it takes a good deal of time to burn through one parachuted legacy member pack mule of CLEO ammo.... If however you want to use the CLEO SMG? Good luck keeping that full of ammo lol....
I never use CLEO weapons. if I want to use 0.50 calibers, I call in ammo traders. Ammo traders sell a M99 about half of the time, so you can load up on 0.50 caliber rifles that way without having to touch Daybreak.
14:00 Yeah infestations I have always left, as it's such a pain - especially as you have to kill everything not just the freaks in the regular game. But your tough neg strategy actually made infestations worthwhile to keep down to a sizable number at least. I still don't go "out of my way" to clean them up, but I now do it when its near where I am or a mission I am doing etc. as getting near 125 influence every takedown is "worth" it to me.
In the beta, you gotta get rid of them ASAP since there's no limit on incoming sieges. Beta sieges also only have 1 minute response time before you lose 3 ammo, so they can just literally machine gun out sieges and cause you to lose 3 ammo per minute, bankrupting your ammo.
Since I never got to do Daybreak due to lack of people wanting to do it with me, I use the FOB to get CLEO stuff and ammo. Due to a glitch (I assume), I now have 2 CLEO Blast Rifles, a few shotguns and so on without doing DB at all. When low on ammo in my Forever Community, I change maps and cycle back to the base for a while.
@@GitGudFox, I see. At first I didn’t think it was legit because when I go to equip them from the locker, it won’t let me and I have to add it to the survivor’s inventory before equipping. I guess that’s due to not playing DB, huh?
Yeah that's because you haven't unlocked the item, so you have sort of an unintended way of obtaining it which is an oversight by Undead Labs as they assumed everyone would play the dreadfully bad Daybreak mode and unlock everything before going to this base.

Currently testing out the RT FOB and my take on this base is that I actually kinda like it. Reasons: Good: 1. You get a free Red Talon Operator (Demolitions) 2. The CLEO Relay that comes with the base is extremely good because you use influence instead of Prestige 3. The base has extremely good defences if you use put your cars in front of the doors. (The AI will use the walls even if there is a car, so no cars will be knocked out of the way) 4. Good location since you have a good potential outposts in and around your base Bad: 1. Not good for big communities (I recommend 4-6 survivors before the survivors start throwing themselves at the zombies for no reason) 2. Only 1 big and 1 small slot (I can work with that but it might be a problem for other players) Optimisation: I think this base works best as a supply hub for your other saves/communities. You can make a Green Zone (Or any other Zone) community and let them farm: 1. Cleo Weapons/Ammo (Because the Cleo stuff only cost influence in the base) 2. Plague Samples (The Landmark outpost allows you the create samples) 3. Maxed out Survivors (With all of the Cleo hordes you'll be summoning you can easily and safely train your survivors Conclusion: I think this base works best as a Supply Hub for your other saves/communities by using what this base and Landmark gives you to stock up on gear, that you can put on a survivor to send him to the Legacy pool where your other communities (on other maps or bases) can hire him with all of that plague samples and Cleo gear/ammo at no cost to your Prestige Points. 👍
CLEO drops aren't very good, so they're not worth farming. You'd be better off doing the same thing at Whitney Field where you can farm influence instead of crummy CLEO gear. Using cars to block up your base is a skill issue. It indicates you haven't learned how to defend your base... which is by preventing sieges in the first place. You never have to defend your base because enemies stop fighting when you drive away, and sieges are a result of allowing them to reach you which is also preventable. It is very expensive, but it is better than most facilities especially on Lethal Zone because at level 3, you can train your character's EXP automatically without actually fighting which means they can max out without risking their lives in combat.

Yeah, redundancy is a major issue with SoD. - Bullet calibers mostly don't matter and are redundant - Weapons mostly don't matter and are redundant - Bases have many redundant, reused bases and often don't matter
I've played this game a ton, but have never played Daybreak or bothered to use prestige in any way. This base does absolutely nothing to change my mind about that. Great vid though 👍
I think the FOB is great for new communities low on building materials that want out of Delta that also gets you close to Echo labs. But once you start getting your inventory up and get the biolab, its time to get out to a real base
Thing is that you gotta go from 3 survivors to 5 and collect 1500 influence. You could do it, but I don't think getting 1 survivor and 500 influence for the Pterodactyl Ptark is unreasonable. You might need to acquire more building materials, but most of the RT facilities aren't very useful.
@@GitGudFox I don't disagree with you! PPark is definitely the more logical 2nd base, this might just be a difference in skill and play style. If the FOB is to be used at all, the built ins are arguably the most useful in the early game. Plus now that bug is fixed, you get a few quests and a RT character too. I personally struggle with keeping on top of all the resources in the early game in lethal, burning through fuel, parts and food. If I can concentrate on those without worrying about building materials or driving too far until I get established, it helps a bit. You HAVE helped me beat my first lethal game recently! I'm just starting my 2nd lethal play through on this map with an immersive story in my head that I've been sent to investigate the FOB and recover the work of the biolab. But we ran out of gas at Delta. I'll get through the Red Talon stuff as my personal objective seeing that the bug is fixed and just want to play it, get the bio lab, and then my story should blend into the actual story pretty well :)
I spent like 3yrs making my Community God-Like ya no I’ll pass, Dread was cool enough for me a lil more difficult but still enjoyable freedom! Chancing things on a high difficulty just seems dumb to me, I spent to much time on Perfection for that crap!!
I started at the RT base. The quest to talk to/recruit Chaves came up quick, but it was late and I need to sleep so I left it to complete the next day. Came back the next day and the quest has not restarted. Also the base can use two items to repair facilities, however, they seem to be very specific to RT and not standard loots. Maybe get them from the RT vendor? This base does suck. Period.
If you cant survive in a small base just say that.😂 im doing a challenge where i have 7 people thats it all red talons and im making it work in that FOB base and im self sufficient now granted i had to get 7 outpost slots and a bunch of mods for the facilities and have the right people with right traits but i made this base work PERFECTLY no issues. Just an FYI for the large slot I put a level 2 farm with a network compost mod which lets me produce 6 food a day. But power and water i wanted to not use builder boon so i have water and power outpost to negate cost have a max level fuel outpost medical outpost for the infirmary's -2 a day the watchtowers -1 ammo a day is covered by my red talon who has a unique skill for +2 ammo a day and the giant amount of material upkeep which is 5 or 6 I think i forget off the top of my head but my red talons alone make that back for me. And fuel im not producing but not wasting any a day. So pretty much self sufficient. Plus other boosts from allied neighbors and such. So like I said if you cant make a functioning base outta nothing just say that😂dont say the base is bad just cause you cant make it work💀 Edit: Lemme remind yall PRESTIGE FROM DAYBREAK IS MEANT TO BE SPENT NOT HOARDED AT 9999 USE IT FOR YOUR ADVANTAGE git gud doesnt spend his prestige cause he likes it at 999 USE the sniper cover if you get in a jam buy those red talon packs from the trader buy the portable mine fields to help you if you unlocked and have all daybreak stuff you want just spend your prestige on cool daybreak grenades and equipment! Cause its hella useful if you dont have anything left to buy just throw prestige at the bombs and cleo weapons. Git gud is talking like hes scared to use his prestige even though he has everything including red talon soliders so he doesnt need prestige anymore so he has no reason to horde his prestige so even if you think your a godly pro you dont need prestige anymore SO YOU MAY AS WELL USE IT. The key tip in this game is use EVERYTHING the game gives you, dont just use THE BEST THINGS OR ONLY CERTAIN THINGS USE EVERYTHING THAT IS OFFERED TO YOU REGARDLESS OF ANYTHING. ESPECIALLY regarding the prestige points if your not using them anymore and its at 9999 BALL OUT AT THE TRADER ON GEAR specifically the bombs their so useful if your hoarding prestige and dont use it anymore the bombs are very good especially the portable mine fields are nice for giving you breathing room in intense situations.
I have beaten the game without deaths on Lethal Zone from the starting house using a sledge hammer and the starting car. I've done that multiple times actually. This base is trash, and what you are doing is coping about its trash limitations.

Nah, that'd be like ridiculously powerful. It just affects influence from killing things and completing mission objectives.
I go in get workshop get my red talon bro and hop over to JJ2.0 till middle farmland base is possible. I only really use it for its free kinda beefy recruit.
Yeah you should always get a Demo specialist.
Why would anyone want a Red Talin Bunkhouse over a luxury bunkhouse. Same amount of beds except you get a morale bonus instead of a decrease?
Generally speaking, you wouldn't want beds one way or another. The only beds you need are incidental beds from facilities like an Officer's Facility or a Lounge.
@@GitGudFox how do you provide enough beds for a full community?
I don't. All beds do is cause a loss of 7 morale per missing bed.
I have 10 people in my community and use 2 red talon bunkrooms with noise machine in each and it turn out pretty good, I play in Drucker County now ha ha
You miss out on the buffing facilities like gyms and shooting ranges or influence generators like stills if you use bedrooms.
Where did u get that fire gun?
It's available in your radio commands.
UL need to review and upgrade all bases in the game make them better ive try all bases and every time I play im like, ok this time ill try new bases and finish to skip half of them cause they dont worth it at the end and i go for the better bases .
But the wall and the look of that base is sick would be nice to ugade wall like that to other bases
Yeah, redundancy is a major issue with SoD.
- Bullet calibers mostly don't matter and are redundant
- Weapons mostly don't matter and are redundant
- Bases have many redundant, reused bases and often don't matter
I mean the red talon fob is good i just think it needs more beds and more outdoor space but everything else is good.
So what you're saying is that it's bad? Every base would be "good" if it just had all the things it is lacking.
I've played this game a ton, but have never played Daybreak or bothered to use prestige in any way. This base does absolutely nothing to change my mind about that. Great vid though 👍
It at least lets you preview them I guess.
Am curious. Does the game ever crash playing on the Beta?
Very rarely like once every 6 months or so.
I think the FOB is great for new communities low on building materials that want out of Delta that also gets you close to Echo labs. But once you start getting your inventory up and get the biolab, its time to get out to a real base
True, it's good because you also get free beds and shit.
Cool base idea, but one of my least favorites. It’s out of the way and has no customization.
Yeah, it's pretty unique, but unique doesn't always translate to good.
It's a meh for me
Yeah, it's unique but that isn't the same thing as good.
Period.
The quests related to restoring this base have been glitched for a long time. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't unfortunately.
