#QOTV I got started after I got sick and had 2 brain surgeries. I had to quit working and focus to get better at home, I was unable to drive so I was stuck at home 24/7. So to stay saine and get my brain going card making was my thing! And thanks to Father God after 2 years I was able to drive and get back to work! Crafting kept me in my right mind!!

QOTV: I use to stamp on my students papers and then I started scrapbooking. While shopping for supplies for both of these things, I saw some beautiful cards and it was a natural addition to my scrapbooking hobby. It’s probably been 20 years since I started!

    #QOTV
#QOTV about 20 years ago I purchased (collected) many MANY scrapbook supplies, thinking that it would become my next creative outlet. Well that never happened. About 5 years later I took a “stamping 101” class and fell in love with heat embossing. About 3 years after that I became an SU hobbyist demo because I just love their products. That also increased my love for printed papers by 1000%! So for the next 10+ years I purchased (hoarded) even more papers. I’d make an occasional card there and there. Now that I’m retired, I have the time to hone my skills and start creating multiple cards. This is all because of videos produced by Alicia (Crafty Al), Kristie Marcotte and Beth (Bourbon Creek Crafts). I thank you ladies tremendously for getting my MOJO in creative gear❣️

I retired and wanted to start a new hobby. I just started watching videos on You Tube anything. Then got interested in paper crafting. During the pandemic, we stopped going to church and watched on line. I wanted to stay in touch with the members of our congregation...so I started sending birthday cards. I found your channel and several card makers that I like to follow. I like your channel because you include a sketch and cutting measurements. I try to do your sketch every month, but sometimes life gets in the way. The sheet load of cards that I make, I send to church members for birthdays, sympathy and encouragement. Thank you so much for all that you do to help us with our card making. You are truly an inspiration....Debra #QOTV

I got started card making and stamping after a serious car accident kept me from doing many of my very athletic outdoor activities. Being creative at a time when my brain was very therapeutic and gave me a new focus for my crafting. This was around 1994, I started scrapbooking in 1997 because my sister started me in on Creative Memories. Love your quick and easy plans and am using them for thank yous, and getting ahead on Christmas cards, and eventually for donations.

QOTV 17 years ago, my darling Grandmother passed away. My grief was so intense. I was watching a morning show on TV and had a guest doing papercrafting (scrapbooking). I investigated this in my town and joined a class. I made a scrapbooking page about Nan. Scrapbooking started my on my paper crafting. Work held me back for nearly 10 years, but I am now back into my card making, mini albums and scrapbooking. Last year I had a very bad break down, and put myself in hospital. Realising I needed a hobby, I have got back into my card making and paper crafting. It is my life line, my saviour. Watching you on TH-cam and other presenters has really helped me keep my smile back on my face, and feeling accomplishment and wellbeing. Thank you for what you do. You are saving people.

got started when my dearest great aunt (we share a bday and our name) was diagnosed with dementia and she moved into a LTC facility - her nurses posted some of the cards folks sent her on the cork board at the foot of her bed - word got back to me that she esp loved “pretty” ones - so each month I would make cards with this in mind - it’s been tough now making cards without her - but by switching gears and making cards for my ten nieces and nephews (15 - 34 yrs) I’ve been able to carry on 😃🤗 this is a wonderful hobby - thnx for the cards in this video - these may just be my next style for “the grownups” I need cards for 😃😉

So fun seeing your cat come into the show. #QOTV: I have been crafty since a young girl, but around 20 years ago at a Mother's of Preschoolers meeting, someone demonstrated stamping. She showed gift tags that she receives on Christmas gifts from an aunt, where were quite impressive. She demonstrated and I thought it was something I could do with a very busy young child, so we went to our local Hobby Lobby and I purchased an ink pad, 2 rubber stamps, and a bit of paper. I tried it an enjoyed it and haven't stopped learning and enjoying the hobby since.

Hello Crafty Al!!! I started stamping with videos by Maymay Made it! At first is was not working for me so I gave up (tear) and went to jewelry making. I did that for a few months and decided I was not really invested in jewelry so I decided to give stamping a try again. I have always loved scrapbook paper in Joann and Michaels and wanted to do something with the beauty! I went back to Maymay and watched and re-watched videos to practice stamping! I finally got it! Yay!! I have been stamping ever since. This is over 4 years in the making and love where my skills, practice and helpful creatives like yourself have taken me! Possibilities are endless! #QOTV

Next week took the class and was hooked! Now I still scrapbook but enjoy card making more especially making you cards Alicia. They are easy and so everyone enjoys the ones I send. I love watching your process videos and seeing the cards come together. They are lovely. #QOTV: I've always been crafty and in need of new challenges. I'd dabbled with slapping some cards together on my own but went to a craft fair at a local elementary school where a couple of SU! demonstrators/moms were manning a make-and-take booth. They invited me to a workshop and one of the first projects was heat embossing and a OSW. Yup, I'm one of those who got REALLY hooked by seeing what was behind that magic trick of heat embossing.😉 It never fails to fascinate me. I look forward to watching your collaborators work their magic. Thanks, Alicia, for another great video & SLOC.

#QOTV in 1991 when I decided that buying Christmas cards from a well known store was way to expensive. I used to do photo cards for Christmas but computer cards for the other occasions. Then around 1999 I started making cards using all types of paper. Taking classes at the various conventions helped to increase my skill and sophistication level.

I'm in love with these! #QOTV I came to card making from doing art journaling. One of the groups that I belong to decided to exchange holiday cards using things we created. I did a full sheet of mixed media paper with a ton of acrylic paint and collage and fun stuff and then cut that all down to card size. They were such a hit in the group I started making post cards that way, and eventually found card making groups and here I am a card making supplies collector!!!

#QOTV About 2001 I added card making to my scrapbook hobby. I met a lady at a craft fair who was demonstrating roller stamps from Stampin' Up. I started going to her classes and learning other techniques. The ladies in our church plant started card making together too. I took classes at Archives and went to their Scrap Fest at the mall of America a few times. It all added up to a very fun hobby. Now, it's easier with sheet loads because I don't have to come up with a new design every time. All I need to do is add sentiments or images to your simple designs. Thanks again.

#QOTV I got started making cards in 1991. My Husband and I were shopping for groceries, when I spied this stand by one of the food aisles, it had some Hero Arts stamps, and ink pads, the stamps were tiny, about an inch each, and in a set of twenty, they were all puppies, bears and babies. I purchased them, not knowing what I would make with them. This sure did turn immediately into an obsession, I stamped every little thing I could get my hands on, then learned I could also emboss...hee, hee! Now many years later, it is almost a second job! :D

QOTV I started in the early 1990’s with scrapbooking the moved into card making. I learned about heat embossing from a friend who show me how to do that. The only thing was we didn’t have or they were not available heat guns. We used the oven laced in a cookie sheet until the powder melted. So I go way back LOL

Fast forward a few years and I went to another card making home stamp party, purchased a few more things. This time a few friends arranged a monthly gathering, sharing products and making cards. #qotv. I really can’t remember when I started card making. I started scrapbooking when my daughter was in high school around 1998. I have always crafted. I started knitting when I was 9. I started making my own clothes when I was 8. I’m in my 60s now. I did rubber stamp before I started scrapbooking but mostly onto fabric and on polymer clay. Oh yeah I paint and do beadwork and hand embroider too! Lol. Gotta try it all don’t ya?

#qotv I think its more than 30 years ago. I discovered a new product in a warehouses stationery corner. I always loved paper and pens and inks and when they started to sell stamps and embossing powder I was infected by first sight. Not long after that I started making cards with 3d images, cutting them out by hand with a cutter and using silicone to stack the image for the 3d effect.
But I dont remember when I made my first card. As a pupil I made cards for birthdays of family members just with pencils and paper. These cards were quite original and I think I was much more creative at that time as now with all my great tools and pens and powders.

I have this exact same trimmer, so I'm glad I watched this video before starting. Thanks for the tips on the card bases. I'm sure I would've figured it out, but not until I made a few mistakes first. 😏
#QOTV....I first started card making about 30 years ago when a friend of mine became a Stampin Up instructor. I wasn't really into paper crafting at that time, but thought I would try something new. I didn't really stick with it, I didn't feel I had the knack for it so I gave it up. Fast forward to a year ago or so, I came across Beth's (Bourbon Creek) channel. I was actually watching one of her videos on how she uses up her 12x12 paper pads. In that video she shared some pretty cards she made for a card making organization she donates to. I thought that was a great idea, as I know that's something I would do to help out with an organization like that. I subscribed to her channel, and then I saw her make a sheetload! This is how I found you! I checked out the link she attached, and that sealed the deal that card making was back in my life. I haven't missed a single video since!

#qotvI got started with card making when I bought a card making kit. I found that having eveything defined for me made it very easy. I then began making holiday cards for the troops and I was hooked. “I love fun fold cards and evything about making special cards for friend

Does this size card and envelope require extra postage in the USA? (6 1/4 X 3 1/4 cards size with envelope she showed)

Lori, if the card is less than 1 oz and not bumpy or thick, it can go for a regular first-class stamp. Thanks for watching!

#QOTV I started card making after I retired six years ago. I attended a bridal shower for my minister’s daughter. His wife had made her shower card. She invited me to her card club, and I’ve been hooked since.

#QOTV I tried stamping but was awful. The Misti was born, and a new card maker. I’ ve never looked back.

I did enjoy stamping before the MISTI, but yes - it was a game changer! Worth every cent. Thank you for watching and sharing.
