I built this farm on my 1.19.3 vanilla server with a few minor changes, which I'll explain below. In 2.5 hours, I got 10 stacks of gunpowder. I believe the rates get worse if there's more people on the server, however I was the only on for the entire time I was AFK. So, the changes: I built the farm over an ocean, so that mobs can't spawn in the caves or whatever below the farm, assuming they're close enough to still be loaded in. Also saves some torches since I don't have to light up the nearby area or caves. I replaced the campfires with soulfire campfires, as they do more damage. Shouldn't affect rates, but I'm listing everything here. I also broke the two blocks where the water ends, so that the water will flow an extra 7 or 8 blocks. This places the campfires farther away, reducing the amount of light leaking through into the spawning area. I didn't check if it would actually be necessary with soulfire campfires, since IIRC they emit less light, but I did it anyways. I went up about 110 blocks in scaffolding, making the farm slightly more efficient, since the spawning radius is 128 for mobs. I do highly recommend building this, and if those rates aren't enough for you, remember you can always stack more ontop. I also earned 12 stacks of iron blocks from the iron farm which was also loaded in while I was AFKing.
@@MegaJonny936 don't forget to add trapdoors at the top of the second block because zombies and skeletons with be too tall for it resulting in only creepers
Build it in a single player world and I have to say I am impressed by how efficient it is. I decorated the afk spot to look like a hot air balloon and removed the scafolding as I will never have firework shortages ever again.
For anyone upset about powder rates and dont wanna start over, I've built this farm before. Its pretty mid on its own. But it is stackable. I stacked five and was pretty set for gun powder.
If I were to build this in an ocean would I still need to build the 115 block platform or can I stand in the kill room with a looting lll and do it myself for more gunpowder
For those having issues with no creepers spawning, or very low rates, I found they won't spawn while the cats are visible. I made the blocks that the cats sit on move up and down with sticky pistons on a clock and I get creepers spawning now.
Never got the farm to work (Bedrock 1.20 PS5), but in case it aids anyone else, here’s some tips that other comments have suggested. (Didn’t work for me, but they might for you.) 1: Light up all caves. 2: Build AFK location 110-120 blocks higher than the campfire. 3: Set Render Distance to 10-12 chunks. 4: Use full blocks, not slabs. 5: Move Campfire lower if light is being emitted into the farm. 6: You can build multiple (if it works to begin with), but they must be 128 blocks apart.
It works in 1.21 you just need to go 115-120 blocks above the farm to afk. Also if you use a soul sand campfire because it creates less light which increases the spawn rate. Also light up the area around it a lot so that absolutely no mobs spawn at night when you are afking (or just do it over an ocean).

@@ispi1363 around 115 blocks or higher, that's because if you build it on the floor the creepers that should spawn inside the farm, can spawn anywhere around 128 blocks of you, so if you have any hole to fit a creeper around 128 blocks around you they have a chance to spawn in there, doing it on the sky makes sure that there aren't any possible spawns nearby so all the creepers spawn directly inside the farm, making it way more effective

Hi blaze! It's me! I like this creeper farm more than the giga one! :D Because it is more easier to build and don't take a lot of places and it give me a great idea!
I spent hours trying to fix this on bedrock. 2 tips, firstly put your render distance to 4. Secondly don’t build up to 80 from the middle it’s too high, build up around 30 ish. Also try make it so other mobs can’t spawn so lots of torches and if you wanna take it a step further place blocks all around the farm that mobs can’t spawn on at all, like sheep etc. But yeah that’s what worked for me!
Spiders are spawning in mine on Bedrock idk why. I made sure the carpets and everything were spaced correctly but I'm still getting spiders. The rates are really slow too even on Hard mode
try putting the carpets so that there are no gaps of four. probably need more. and to improve rates on bedrock stack the farm on top of each other maybe another five layers or so but keep afk spot the same or about 30 blocks higher
Hey dude, my question is that instead if building the farm down and afk up, can we do the opposite? Like we build it up and just stay down and work like is that fine? will it be the same results of afk ing up? I hope u understood what i said
it won't be as efficient since the spawning happens 128 blocks around you in all directions (sphere), because of that you will have to also prevent the spawning of other hostile mobs under you in caves, water caves, open spaces, etc. On the other hand when you are above 90%+ of the spawning sphere is occupied by air, so other mobs can't spawn, except for the part on the ground where the farm is located.
I miss interpreted what the comments were saying and built ladders and built this farm at y 115, what do I do now and will the farm still work, I lit up the surrounding area and caves
Built this 5 layers high and it pumps out gunpowder. I'm later into the game and I built this with wither roses and it improves the rates a ton. They can fall straight onto the flowers, no needed for water, and kills them faster than an campfire (aka more spawns). Even better, no need for a weird collection system because you can put the wither roses on soul sand which hoppers can absorb through. If you have the ability to get 10 wither roses, make the upgrade.
@@nadiaszostak1494 I do not play on bedrock but my killing chamber design should work as long as hoppers can pick up through soul sand (NOT SOIL) in bedrock. I would read other comments for more recommendations on how to optimize the farm for bedrock but the wither rose kill chamber is much better than the campfires. Try it out!😆
I lit up surrounding area and made it all correctly didn't spawn for me maybe cause it's too close to my home and auto farms so imma move it a good bit out on a neighboring island
To be clear... your example got you 112 gunpowder in 10mins... that's 672 per hour NOT more than 3000! If you want more, you need to stack more levels on top.
Hi, I had a go at making this farm. Im playing on a switch? Will this work me me? It's just no creepers are spawning. Does if matter if I have used cobblestone as my walls and Spruce trap doors? Thanks very for your help 😊👍
If you add a trident kill chamber, instead of camp fires, you can use this as an XP farm 🤷 Edit: Also you can increase the drop rates just by holding a looting sword while the trident kill chamber is active 😊
This only works for bedrock, and even in bedrock it wouldn’t work. You have to have distance from the farm, but to use the trident killer, you have to be right next to it. The only way for this to work would be to make a bubble elevator to your afk spot
This is good, The farm works. But i see you said you need the afk spot, but i think its not, i leave the farm for around 3 hours of ancient debri fking mining and i got around 6 stack or 6 stack 57 gunpowder, So there's no issue with the farm even u leave it afk or mining for hours or doing something so long😊

Question 2: If I have my farm next to the village and villagers are often walking next to the farm do they prevent the creepers from spawning? Because the farm doesn't work. Question 3: Below the farm there is a cave. Does it have to be lighten up too?
It doesn't have to be scaffolding. You just have to be at least 24 blocks away for mobs to spawn. Idk about villagers but I don't think it should prevent hostile mobs. And yes, for best results you should either build this way up in the sky or light up l literally everything within 128 blocks. It depends on your simulation distance and I have no idea how to actually check that so 128 block radius is the safest bet. I know bedrock can have a smaller sim distance than Java but again idk for sure.
@@DGomez__ A soul campfire deals more damage to mobs, so they spend less time in the killing chamber. You get loot faster, and the mobs do not take up the mob cap longer than needed, letting more spawn.

I built this farm on my 1.19.3 vanilla server with a few minor changes, which I'll explain below. In 2.5 hours, I got 10 stacks of gunpowder. I believe the rates get worse if there's more people on the server, however I was the only on for the entire time I was AFK.
So, the changes:
I built the farm over an ocean, so that mobs can't spawn in the caves or whatever below the farm, assuming they're close enough to still be loaded in.
Hey please can you suggest me some NON AFK farms. I don't want to afk 🥲
i build the same but for me there are zombies and skeletons spawning as well. Do you know what to do?

i think so XD
For anyone upset about powder rates and dont wanna start over, I've built this farm before. Its pretty mid on its own. But it is stackable. I stacked five and was pretty set for gun powder.
what heigh that i should build the farm with?
@zzzzlok I'm not certain. I imagine it would depend on what ur cave lighting is like. Ive heard people say lower is better, but idk
when u stack them how high up did u go? still 115 from the top or lower? i stacked 4 and dont know which high i need to stand now...
If I were to build this in an ocean would I still need to build the 115 block platform or can I stand in the kill room with a looting lll and do it myself for more gunpowder
IT WORKED THANKS!!

(Didn’t work for me, but they might for you.)
1: Light up all caves.
Thanks you for the info bro
It works in 1.21 you just need to go 115-120 blocks above the farm to afk. Also if you use a soul sand campfire because it creates less light which increases the spawn rate. Also light up the area around it a lot so that absolutely no mobs spawn at night when you are afking (or just do it over an ocean).
should the y exactly be at 115 when afking?
Just go 80 blocks up where ever you build it.

I’ll try the 30 blocks up, but I’ve tried lots of things that don’t seem to work
Spiders are spawning in mine on Bedrock idk why. I made sure the carpets and everything were spaced correctly but I'm still getting spiders. The rates are really slow too even on Hard mode
try putting the carpets so that there are no gaps of four. probably need more. and to improve rates on bedrock stack the farm on top of each other maybe another five layers or so but keep afk spot the same or about 30 blocks higher
just replace carpets with buttons for not spider spawning
For anyone wondering if the farm doesn't work instead of putting slabs for the roof put blocks
Nvm still doesnt work
@@Enderman78201try building the farm at least 128 blocks above surface. Also, why did you say "nvm"? You're not the OP.
Hey dude, my question is that instead if building the farm down and afk up, can we do the opposite? Like we build it up and just stay down and work like is that fine? will it be the same results of afk ing up? I hope u understood what i said
i have thought about this for a while now and i think it will works the same u just need more torches for wider range of area where mobs cant spawn
it won't be as efficient since the spawning happens 128 blocks around you in all directions (sphere), because of that you will have to also prevent the spawning of other hostile mobs under you in caves, water caves, open spaces, etc. On the other hand when you are above 90%+ of the spawning sphere is occupied by air, so other mobs can't spawn, except for the part on the ground where the farm is located.
No

To be clear... your example got you 112 gunpowder in 10mins... that's 672 per hour NOT more than 3000! If you want more, you need to stack more levels on top.
For me the creepers only spawn at night and hardly many, I am not sure if it has something to do with playing on a switch, but it works pretty well.
