    This visit has truly changed my perception towards the negative bias towards the developments around Johor. It's only normal to think that it's all quiet and empty, not really. At first glance, I couldn't recognize the township I once helped developed because the team have not stopped. When the market was slow, they leveraged on the affordable construction cost to build investment components such as malls, corporate offices, and hotels.
    It's even more evident when we compare between the neighbouring lots and it just showcase the level of financial and execution ability by this developer. Beyond homes, they are building communities to live within the township. During the visit, I've came across multiple communities such as foreign and local expats. It's so mindblowing for me at that moment.
    Anyway, is this the comeback for Johor property market? I'm not too sure but this township is seriously building towards that. They are just layering infrastructures over programs over utilities over buildings, just waiting for the market to turnaround.

    In my opinion, this is one of the nicest development in the western part of JB. Glad you revisit this development once again👍🏻

    This area is quite quiet and nearly no traffic congestion. Nice township well built by Sunway.

    It's so nice to see my hometown get reviewed as I seldom go back to JB nowadays. I used to live at the Medini area for 6 months and it was pretty nice living there. No traffic congestion, not so crowded (during the pandemic la not sure about now haha) and u can get almost everything u need within the proximity. And it's amazing to see how well Sunway City is developed now. Even tho my familiy lived at JB but I don't think they are familiar w the current state of Sunway City. Will definitely pay a visit to there w my family to enjoy the holiday experience there. Thank you Sean for the great review!

    In pandemic i asked whether got promotion/discount/rebate. For sunway, apa pon takde. Which is insane. That just shows how deep sunway's pockets are.

    In iskandar puteri area, i would say eco botanic is the number 1 now, it is getting more and more happening. Then number 2 will be sunway iskandar.
    Wish Sunway can be successful here, as the township planning is really one of a kind in Johor.

    Once major issue Sunway Iskander faced is it leasehold tenure compared to other freehold tenure project around the vicinity such as Eco Botanic and Horizon Hills. Else it will be a wonderful product to own.

      Technically it's not even leasehold, it's a lease under a company. But rumours has it, they are gonna be a change of land title very soon haha;)

    I’m staying at Medini areas since Q4 2021. I can see the changes even in the past 2 years. Relocated from Puchong and Medini is a good area to stay with no traffic congestion! Saved a lot of time. Hope to see more development in Medini

    Very nice township but still missing one very important thing, public transport 😢
    Still a very car centric township 😢

      Well even Mont Kiara or Old Klang Road today still don’t have public transport hahahaha. It’s gonna take a very long time. But the key point here would be the connection over to SG, that’s the deal breaker.

    I have always thought Johor should not copy Shenzhen, but go its own way and pace, and this township is well demonstrating a much more relaxed but environmentally, socially and economically sustainable direction of development.

    may i ask who maintains the cleanliness and parks of townships like these? Do they depend on local authorities. For example in KL, it is DBKL. Thank you for the upload. It is very informative.

    wow...amazing progress!i wonder,is it Emerald Lake coz of the color,or twas a lake n it shall be emerald in color?how did the lake look sooooo Emeraldy?tats a the correct petrol brand to open-the BEST=Caltex!clever...

      It was named after the original colour when we first came to the site. It was absolutely barren back then, and the transformation is very very impressive!!

    The gov should implement a standard requirement of pedestrian walkway and connectivity on all townships and developers instead of letting the developers to be responsible of it. Some don’t even bother when there is no proper implementation. Damn so envy of townships like this or the whole Singapore. I hope old addresses in kl gets a revamp. My parent’s house is just a couple roads away from shop lots but there are no proper ways to walk and ppl just drive even such a short distance…….

    You didn't talk about what you hate about the township leh. Sean's take 3 on 3 is supposed to be 3 things you like and 3 things you hate. You only talked about what you like: 1. Developer's progress is better than your expectation. 2. The market here could be improving.

      Based on my information, all documentation has been submitted. Now just going through the series of processes:) It’s so exciting!!
      Buy under lease now, when the property completed under freehold❤️

      @@iherng Sunway recently bought over Iskandar Investment Berhad's share in the joint venture to wholly own Sunway Iskandar developmen. Why are they doing that? Tie to the freehold land conversion?

      I think so too. But it's now available only for potential buyers. Because if its long term operated, who is paying for it?

      @@iherng If the whole township is sharing the buggy, the cost should be borne by each owner via the jmb. Ideally, Sunway Prop should buy and own the buggies, and the cost should be charged to each resident and merchant according to each point the buggy is stopping. It will benefit the residents inside the township thereby attracting more to come and stay, while the convenience also attracts visitors to visit frequently.
