Vars, you’ve not been cooking on Genshin recently, first the repeat of your “power five” video for the billionth time, and now “chasca is power creep” there are so many things you could be talking about with Genshin: Mulani wants toward vape, kinich want burn, what unexplored reaction could new units want to use? Is phlogiston any good? Outside of Natlan you hardly get any at all, how would you fix this? Could there be a character that serves as a phlogiston battery maybe. But you just keep on repeating yourself over and over again

Chasca is the first new character that can deal Cryo damage since Charlotte in 4.2. Let that sink in. We have gotten an Anemo character that deals Cryo damage on their own before we got a new Cryo character and before Wriothesley got his first re-run.
if we got a new cryo character in 5.1, Chasca still would be a anemo character that can deal cryo damage before a new cryo character, and since Citlali is coming in 5.3, this statement don't make much sense. We all knew we would got a new Cryo character since the Natlan trailer. Having a anemo character that can deal cryo (or any PECH) isn't a huge deal either, as infusion is a mechanic since anemo traveller, so we always had this in the game since 1.0. What Chasca do of different is that she's the only character in the game that can do multiple element attacks on her own in the game, since even for other anemos they're limited to 2 (anemo and the infusion).
I'ma be honest, im not seeing the powercreep here, like yeah compared to wanderer (a character thats somewhat average to begin with) she's better but compared to many others she's not surpassing them at all from what im seeing Maybe im just looking in the wrong places but i really just don't see it
I think it's powercreep on exploration? I think she can fly a few seconds more than Wanderer outside of Natlan? I'm confused by the powercreep comparison to Wanderer too, I love playing him but he's never been meta.

I think this video is overrating Chasca quite a lot, considering Kinich does about as much single target damage as her but is considered slightly worse than alhaitham but sure
I thought kinich is around the same level of Al since They both felt different without needing to compete with eachother, Kinich has higher damage output but is super single target(unless if the enemies are like tightly close to each other.) and his teams are abit more restrictive while Al deals less damage but has rotational flexibility and good AoE. though i think he might be better soon when mavuika comes out.
I aimed for C2 Kinich to get AoE on his hits and even left him with a free claymore (as it's good enough), cannot stress enough how good he becomes with animation-cancel technique = consistent 5 hits per rotation trivializes everything except fast moving targets, like current consecrated beast and you better rely on auto-aim than hope your camera lands directly on the target for a fast-shot
@@DrBx3 She's not weak or anything, she just has a number of things that prevent her from reaching the top DPS list. Currently, she's like right about mid level DPS compared to everyone else.

Ignore this, holy shit most dmg calculation put her behind other damage dealer, she requires a shielder since she can get knocked down from ther air, she also needs specific teammates to work well with (unltil you C2 her), outside from Natlan she can also struggle with her Nightsoul Points, she can work well in specific Teams an especially in Natlan but she is propably the weaker of the Natlan Characters or at least more limited in which team you can use her. She is still good but nothing close to a Xilonen or any other recent 5 Star, however her Exploration Skills are probaply one if not the best in the game so thats that, Ororon is pretty good for a 4 Star tho, a little bit worse or equal to Fishl. Genshin is powercreeping but holy hell this is probaply the least powercreep patch in recent history
??? i've been using her without a shielder and she has not gotten knocked out of the air once, the enemies literally can't reach her and its easy to move out of the way of projectiles.
I agree with the latter part of what you said but I played with her quite a while, and not once was she knocked down, and Vars was talking about outside of Natlan combat. If you're talking abt in Natlan combat her dmg is higher than 5800% MV. But I do agree, she is not powercreep by any semblance, heck she might be one of the weaker recent on fielders, as her dmg falls off a cliff in AOE
did you skip the part where that’s mostly true when she has constellations? which is just a fact at that point, basically every newgen dps is better than neuvillette at c2+ (yes, counting him with his own c2)

Why is almost everybody disagreeing & hating on this video ? I have tested C0R1 Chasca and I dare say she is one of the best DPS on my account rn (34 CR: 280 CD), along with neuvilette and Ayaka (both have their signatures, 280 crit dmg as well) She is definitely on par with the top DPSes, even better in some situations My Chasca is doing an average of 36K PER elemental bullet base dmg WITHOUT THE REACTION MULTIPLIER OR BUFFS. With buffs and reactions it goes to 60~100K+ per bullet If this isn’t powercreep idk what is
@@jeffuxubu5227 Because she isn't. Her calculated & tested DPS (from the TCs i watched) put her in the same range of Arlecchino, Hu Tao, Lyney, Xiao, Kinich etc. in Single Target. Which is on the higher end but 1. she doesn't beat the top 2. Only in ST. Neuvillette has similar high ST DPS. But his consistency with his AoE and self sustain make him broken. Chasca on the other hand while good has awful AoE. Lets assume Neuvillette deals 110 damage in ST. Chasca can maybe do 120 in ST. She is better in ST. But now we add a second enemy. Neuvillette just does 110 * 2 because he can hit two enemies. Always. (And keep in mind Neuvillette was never the best ST carry. Arle, Mualani, Hu Tao and Lyney can perfom better as an example. But again only in ST and they have a lot more flaws in their gameplay) Chasca on the other hand is stuck with her damage because her bullets don't have AoE. She just splits her damage on those two enemies. So she still does 120 against 2 enemies. With a potential damage loss because you can do less reactions if you split your bullets. Overall the RNG of her kit gets even worse. Like depending on her bullet application her DPS can vary because she has Standard ICD and if you are unlucky you can miss a Vape/Melt = she does a lot less damage with bad luck. Isn't super common but an issue. Tldr Chasca is a good ST carry that is on par with the other good ST carries but with some RNG and 0 AoE. And all those other ST carries have decent to good AoE. Like in AoE there is an arugment that Wanderer is just better. And in mix content you prefer Wanderer because even if he is worse against the boss he struggels a lot less in the AoE part.
Am I crazy or do neither of them actually feel like they’re huge power creep. Chasca feels like a slightly better wanderer that is more single target but wanderer can work better with normal attack supports. And Ororon feels like a side grade to fischl cause his damage is nowhere near as high
Also Wanderer has AoE. He doesn't split up his scalings in AoE + doesn't lose damage in because the split up bullets don't trigger as many reactions anymore...
I have feel like ororon does powercreep but not to fischl, but to beidou since he does work in AoE and ST(Which beidou struggles in ST.). Except that's only if you wanna really play scary since that's mostly for sustainless teams. I kinda wished his passive still kept the energy through EC since that could help beidou. Also idk what it is.. but i thought other than EC ororon might be better than fischl for spread since you can't abuse fischl's A4 and ororon can also hold elegy but he also can hold cinder city.

Am I the only person who doesn't like majority of the Natlan characters so far? With Mavuika, Citlali and the other who jut got leaked, Citlali and the other are the only ones peaking my interest so far. I'm like not interested in the movement/traveling "gimicks" because when we eventually aren't in Natlan its not going to be as great
You’re not alone. I think almost all of them are worse characters than Fontaine. I don’t want to pull for them and I’ve seen many others say the same. Hoyo is trying to fomo people into pulling anyway.
honestly, if powercreep is only felt in small doses after 4 years, still says alot about how they manage things. powercreep is inevitable, and even then, even with chasca and ororon, powercreep still isnt a full swing not even other mihoyo titles can keep up. hsr is already at a powercreep influx point, where i barely see anyone use someone like seele and blade. non-hoyo titles could barely handle powercreep in 2 years. one gacha rpg i used to play now has insane powercreep. you dont pull for characters, but rather skills and abilities. back then the highest multipliers were 2000% in one skill. now, one skill not only reduced enemy's resistance, but also increases the user's attack, oh and multipliers that goes up to 8000%, and is done 5 times, in one skill on max investment (so 40000% mulipliers) if it took hoyo 4 years to do this, its mighty impressive nonetheless

She only does that when she swirls with an existing on field element like all other anemo characters. I think he meant she can deal other elemental damage without any present element to swirl from, just by having the characters in the party.
I thought Chasca was pretty bad if there's multiple enemies, I wouldn't call it powercreep (unless you look at constellations, those have gotten ridiculous)

Chasca’s c1 gotta be the most bait con I’ve seen on this game. It gives the illusion of opening her team comps but she doesn’t actually get that third stack of her passive ,which is immediately fixed in c2, which should’ve been included in c1 but isn’t for obvious money reasons
4:48 Based off of the chart provided in the video, could some one explain where Vars got the 80% and 300% in his dmg equation 2(80)+4(300)? Asc 5 is where the normal bullets deal abt 80%, but the shining shell only does 220% (If we assume Shining isn't put on all elemental bullets, her dmg drops by 155% per non shining). Asc 10 causes shining to deal 300%, but the normal bullets are 108%.

Chasca is a new unit and to sell the new unit they tailor made the abyss buffs for her so obviously she'll do good damage but thats about it really. She is barely above wanderer as an anemo dps and is nowhere near xiao on his best team. As for ororon, i'd rather use beidou+fischl over him+another electro for electrocharged any day of the week. Simply put, has the game experienced powercreep since fontaine? yes. But are the 2 units you're using to point out powercreep actually powercreeping anyone? not really
Fact: chasca is not the first character and actually not even the first anemo character that can deal other elemental type of damage; L,ynettes burst after going under elemental infusion deals damage of corresponding element it coverted to. Yeah its not high damage but is non-anemo elemental damage on her own kit.
Other Anemo characters can do the same bro, Venti, Sucrose, Sayu, Kazuha. The point is Chasca being the only one that doesn't absorb elements on field to deal Non Anemo dmg
Something I also really like is how they avoided making Ororon and Kinich get forced into Quicken. So far, Ororon is the only electro Natlan character that can trigger night soul, and Kinich is the same with Dendro, meaning they are the only quicken characters that can trigger Ororon’s passive, but Kinich works worse in Quicken teams.
This video will not age well. Vars is literally glazing over a $500 unit (talking about c2r1) I mean thanks. But as a f2p unit chasca is omega trash into multitarget just like yoimiya. Her kit literally falls apart. Nevertheless i think you expect from $500 spent on a game to destroy content especially if all my other units are c1-c2 with signatures in their teams…
genshin was bound to have much faster powercreep every since they released neuvilette. he was way too strong and convenient for the time he was released which set a unachievable benchmark that every other dps would have to meet in order to get sales.

@@dreamsandhopes6802 that's pretty fair. it's powercreep in the sense of hyperbloom being much more convenient and having a much higher floor. the real problem is when you have both floor and ceiling powercreep such as with neuvi who is both very easy to use/build and has an aubsurd power ceiling concidering his release date.
@@DheerGupta-y5g Hyperbloom gave a very high damage floor with easy ways to build characters, but traditional meta teams like Childe international and Hutao double hydro still had higher damage ceiling. But for Neuvillette I agree, he is too powerful now

even if we say that Chasca is as strong as Neuvilette for the sake of argument idk how that would be powercreep becuz that would just mean that power level is becoming standardized. It WOULD be powercreep if Chasca was significantly stronger than Neuvilette cuz it would mean the bar is being raised higher, but it’s not. Apparently even slowly developing a character and their personality is forced for Genshin players. He should have been given the Raiden treatment, locked for one minute in a realm and come out of it completely different and kissing the travelers feet. That's true character development no!
This is a bit of a dangerous video title to put out day 1 of a character’s release. What if people rush out to pull based on this when we aren’t even completely sure yet.

It is noted in the wiki that ororon's burst has special ICD that it only applies electro every 3s (and it doesn't have any hit ICD), so the faster electro hits is literally just more personal damage for ororon (unless his C4 changes the special ICD). Also i know its clickbait, but no chasca in terms of theoretical DPS doesn't powercreep any main-DPS in the game, in her premium team rn (before mavuika's release) her team DPS is only around that of alhaitham/clorinde/kinich tier DPS, it is no means bad, but it is strictly single target at C0. e.g. 5:00 you know who else also deals that much motion value in the duration of their E? yup, kinich if you can do his quick-hold techs in which you can consistently fire 5 1200% canon shots, you want an example not from natlan, yup clorinde if you're using 4tf on her, she can 2E-state per rotation resulting in around 5.6k motion value, this is not counting all the fischl A4 passive she effectively drives. now i do agree chasca is "powercreep", but in terms of exploration. Even outside of natlan, chasca's exploration is equal or outright just better than wanderer (E-state: sprinting- about equal; vertical- chasca a bit better; no sprint- chasca is way better)
I have a c6 chasca and, (i) no at c0 she does not powercreep Neuvillette, arlecchino, or mualani. (ii) at c6 she’s, imo, top 5 but no she hasn’t powercrept the aforementioned three, so she didn’t break the game. Also, current abyss buffs favor her. (iii) if you’re not intending to pull for cons, or waiting for mavuika, she’s probably not the best for you.

To be fair, Chaska is truly a unique character-a hypercarry who literally has no regard for her enemies' elements. She doesn't need any off-field applicators, just buffers. She might even be the next Kazuha, where people recognize her true power only after some time testing her. Well, not that you can test Chaska for consistency, but perhaps for raw damage. And for those claiming she isn’t a power creep for Anemo DPS, just look at how she can destroy shields on her own. Please accept the fact that no Anemo DPS does it better than her.
If he had made this video in 5.0 when we got Mualani and Kinichi i would have said fair enough. But instead he is calling Chasca who is 'fine' a powercreep character, my guy you have to be trolling us right?
Thanks for this. Though I think you might be missing the fact that she has anti-synergy with vulnerability units, so her scaling's to balance that, not necessarily pull ahead of other DPSes who can exploit that more.
Vars, Vars, I am not sure if you do these videos just to get comments or Hoyoverse is paying you. Chasca is ok. Unfortunately Ororon doesn’t work well with her if you want to do electro charge. At constellation zero she is just ok, I like the videos you do on “ why no one plays…” but theory crafting is NOT your forte. I wanted Chasca to be a great character but she has a lot of problems. Now you said she is Meta defined? Where? She is very single target, her AOE is not good. She is not at the same level like Arlecchino or other stronger DPS. Very disappointed in you to put this misleading video out. You know better. Or at least I thought you knew better 😢
Idk if any of these 2 represent powercreep. Ororon might.. but not to fischl. but to beidou and not completely . I mean he works in AoE and can actually work in ST however beidou has damage reduction and a shield at c2. Also i don't understand how he would be worse in spread since That's one of fischl lesser teams since her A4 can't be abused. I thought it be the opposite with him being better in EC and Spread while fischl on other teams. I wonder if cinder city can even make up for the damage in fischl's other teams where her damage is relevant, Some chevreuse teams and ofc the Clorinde quickbloom teams, and the aggravate centered teams where she's BiS.
I just tried both of these chars today with the trial. First impression of Chasca- I'll be getting her at some point. It's the Navia situation all over again- Fun char, bad timing. I am trying to build an Overload team for Snezhnaya and that is going to take priority, which is why I am waiting for Mavuika. But yeah it's going to hurt to skip Chasca. Now with Ororon, with him being Electro-Charged geared, I won't be trying to get him too since I am also trying to avoid chars that help Hydro reactions since I have plenty of chars to help with that. Hydro isn't good against Cryo, so yeah.
Talking out of my ass here, but maybe because her werid "self reaction" making kit makes TCing complicated, they are delaying the guides intill they are sure thry are doing it right but considering the illegal leakers already did it just from the normal beta, the CCs probably had more thsn enough time
Finally someone said it. 100% agree and probably why I pulled for C2 Chasca. Most of these commenters just dont want to hear something that challenges the "save for Archon" notion, or only have a C0 Chasca. (Yes im skipping Mauvika, I dont need a 6th pyro 5star character anyways when She doesnt replace Bennett). The important thing is alot fail to see is she doesnt use the same geo/anemo supports your other teams use. freeing up that Xilonen/Kazuha slot is massive.
@@what-you-want-of-me-yt Doesnt change the fact you have free anemo and geo supports for your second team. Also calling Kazuha and Xilonen replaceable is hard capping. (by that logic anything is replaceable, theres a slew of other characters like zhong li/nahida etc that also can be used elsewhere that it feels pointless to mention)
Maybe I will get Chasca on her rerun. I have so many characters now that I'm not thrilled on getting more 5* characters and farming artifacts for them. Unless they are Archons, or they are so meta they are must pull. Best recent example being Xilonen, who by herself can res shred, heal, and buff group damage.
I got her accidentally while pulling oronon but I feel ya. Keing, tighnari, mualani, xilonen, kachina and now chasca and oronon all at once is already giving me a headache. Im lucky atleast that most using the the same natlan artfiact domain but my experience with emblem and golden troupe domain taught me that this isnt really that big of a help in farming for many characters
i'd suggest you look into other creators' takes on her first, this video is misleading in the way it overstates her effectiveness. she's great for exploration but nowhere near the level of neuvilette or arlecchino. good luck on your pulls! :)
Also I would generally advise this - don't just pull on dps characters unless you like them, and you have fun with their playstyle. Especially as a ftp. Invest in the dps characters you like, and good supports that make your favorite characters stronger. It'll make your account better and more fun in the long run. If you are only looking for strength, Nuevi will generally be a stronger pull than these banners.
seems weird to say that now is when the floodgates are opening. like... furina coming out and doing literally everything hydro is known for, then immediately neuvillette coming out, was that not the writing on the wall?
Keqing isn't the stronger character in my account, but definitively the most reliable, since Dendro there wasn't even one patch that i couldn't deal with Aggravate or Quickbloom with her, she has one of the most flexibile playstyles in the game, the only thing holding her back is the damage.
...so if chasca can effectively wield multiple elements... and she came out after traveler was shown to do the same explicitly in natlan..... ....is multiple elements traveler on the way? :o (I'm coping really hard I just want traveler to be actively good at some point I beg hoyo please let my aether stand with the rest of the 5-stars pleaseeeeee-)
her multipliers are pretty close to kinich’s tbh except that she doesnt have acess to a teamate holding deepwood but she has access to furina and Xilonen’s/Kazuha’s buffs, except that you want c2 for the last two
Not seeing the powercreep here.. I can understand youtubers to wanna hype new units but lets at least be realistic. Chasca looks great but she has some issues. Plus she cines before an Archon. Lots of reasons to think before pulling for her
The Dehya incident happened because the players have different vision of what she will be compared to the devs. She is a good character if used correctly, like everyone else.
The funny thing is that the speedrunning guy is making records with his maxed out Chasca. One shotting bosses just as well as Mualani and arlecchino. So I meanzzzz yeahhh
fontaine has done wonders for the game (in a bad way) honestly not surprised if people start quitting because of every new chara is going to be stronger than the previous
I dont know why but my gut tells me that they're giving us this power creep and QOL early into Natlan to hold us over and give us that dopamine hit while they finish debugging and making a concrete plan for the next few patches. 1 new five star every month and a half is equivalent to a famine in terms of genshin. I dont expect this power creep to last forever and personally Im thankful for that.
Bro missed the mark a bit. Like yeah, Ororon is slightly better in taser teams, but Fischl still clears, and Chasca is a slightly better Wanderer, a character that was low A to B tier from the start. If you wanna talk powercreep in Natlan, go with Mualani and Xilonen.
I'm really enjoying Ororon, he plays really easy in quickswap electrocharge with sucrose, Dori and xingqiu/furina, and his overworld movement is to me better and smoother than all the anemo boys combined
It's not just Archons that are OP. The Fatui are also OP. It's also likely that the Adepti will be OP as well. Characters that belong to certain "sets" seem like they will be OP as a rule. Our exposure to the characters from Natlan has mostly been Kachina + the legendary heroes. Not only does it make sense for the legendary heroes of the nation of war to be OP, but they are also part of a "set." Kachina was certainly not OP. We'll see if Citlali continues this trend of OP Natlan characters or not.
I don't see any problem with powercrept as long as they don't balance the game around them (like a game mode where you can't complete it without having at least one of these characters)
You don't see how more and more powerful characters will lead to people wanting more difficult enemies causing the lesser units to be unable to compete? People are already asking for tougher abyss enemies because the characters we have now are so strong. I'll give an example if you need one. I usually could only get 3-6 stars on floor 12 on the abyss. After xilonen came out it's been consistent full 9 stars since she came out. She allowed me, someone who puts little thought into min maxing, to full clear the top floors of the spiral abyss. If these characters are gonna make combat that much easier, people are gonna want harder fights to reintroduce challenge to the game. And that's when older characters get left behind. You will start seeing a problem with power creep then.
@luckytanuki5449 Or, hear me out here, they can do what fromsoft players did for years, have some imagination, and try to make self-imposed challenges like using less popular or weaker characters for more challenging content. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS THE SOLUTION, I AM JUST SAYING THIS IS AN OPTION, and it is a proven method. Self regulated difficulty, the game is only as hard or as easy as you want them to be.
@darkdrac7012 You and I both know how gamers are. They will always find the easiest path to achieving the goal and use it 100% of the time lol. Yea they COULD do self imposed challenges but they aren't going to because they would prefer to complain about the lack of end game content and difficulty of enemies.
@@luckytanuki5449 the only real struggle is for 4* only teams, most of the old characters can still do fine nowdays with the right supports, its just not that easy. Keqing a 1.0 DPS, still one of my most confortable clears for every abyss since Sumeru, maybe only Neuvi and Arle teams can beat her on my account if not for specific enemy gimmicks like geo shield.

if we got a new cryo character in 5.1, Chasca still would be a anemo character that can deal cryo damage before a new cryo character, and since Citlali is coming in 5.3, this statement don't make much sense. We all knew we would got a new Cryo character since the Natlan trailer.
Having a anemo character that can deal cryo (or any PECH) isn't a huge deal either, as infusion is a mechanic since anemo traveller, so we always had this in the game since 1.0.
What Chasca do of different is that she's the only character in the game that can do multiple element attacks on her own in the game, since even for other anemos they're limited to 2 (anemo and the infusion).

I thought kinich is around the same level of Al since They both felt different without needing to compete with eachother, Kinich has higher damage output but is super single target(unless if the enemies are like tightly close to each other.) and his teams are abit more restrictive while Al deals less damage but has rotational flexibility and good AoE.

I aimed for C2 Kinich to get AoE on his hits and even left him with a free claymore (as it's good enough), cannot stress enough how good he becomes with animation-cancel technique = consistent 5 hits per rotation trivializes everything except fast moving targets, like current consecrated beast and you better rely on auto-aim than hope your camera lands directly on the target for a fast-shot

Ignore this, holy shit most dmg calculation put her behind other damage dealer, she requires a shielder since she can get knocked down from ther air, she also needs specific teammates to work well with (unltil you C2 her), outside from Natlan she can also struggle with her Nightsoul Points, she can work well in specific Teams an especially in Natlan but she is propably the weaker of the Natlan Characters or at least more limited in which team you can use her. She is still good but nothing close to a Xilonen or any other recent 5 Star, however her Exploration Skills are probaply one if not the best in the game so thats that, Ororon is pretty good for a 4 Star tho, a little bit worse or equal to Fishl. Genshin is powercreeping but holy hell this is probaply the least powercreep patch in recent history

I have tested C0R1 Chasca and I dare say she is one of the best DPS on my account rn (34 CR: 280 CD), along with neuvilette and Ayaka (both have their signatures, 280 crit dmg as well)
She is definitely on par with the top DPSes, even better in some situations
My Chasca is doing an average of 36K PER elemental bullet base dmg WITHOUT THE REACTION MULTIPLIER OR BUFFS.
With buffs and reactions it goes to 60~100K+ per bullet

@@jeffuxubu5227 Because she isn't. Her calculated & tested DPS (from the TCs i watched) put her in the same range of Arlecchino, Hu Tao, Lyney, Xiao, Kinich etc. in Single Target. Which is on the higher end but

2. Only in ST.
Neuvillette has similar high ST DPS. But his consistency with his AoE and self sustain make him broken.
Chasca on the other hand while good has awful AoE.
Lets assume Neuvillette deals 110 damage in ST. Chasca can maybe do 120 in ST. She is better in ST. But now we add a second enemy.
Neuvillette just does 110 * 2 because he can hit two enemies. Always. (And keep in mind Neuvillette was never the best ST carry. Arle, Mualani, Hu Tao and Lyney can perfom better as an example. But again only in ST and they have a lot more flaws in their gameplay)
Chasca on the other hand is stuck with her damage because her bullets don't have AoE. She just splits her damage on those two enemies. So she still does 120 against 2 enemies. With a potential damage loss because you can do less reactions if you split your bullets. Overall the RNG of her kit gets even worse. Like depending on her bullet application her DPS can vary because she has Standard ICD and if you are unlucky you can miss a Vape/Melt = she does a lot less damage with bad luck. Isn't super common but an issue.
Tldr Chasca is a good ST carry that is on par with the other good ST carries but with some RNG and 0 AoE. And all those other ST carries have decent to good AoE.
Like in AoE there is an arugment that Wanderer is just better. And in mix content you prefer Wanderer because even if he is worse against the boss he struggels a lot less in the AoE part.
The only powercreep here is movement creep
Am I crazy or do neither of them actually feel like they’re huge power creep. Chasca feels like a slightly better wanderer that is more single target but wanderer can work better with normal attack supports. And Ororon feels like a side grade to fischl cause his damage is nowhere near as high

I have feel like ororon does powercreep but not to fischl, but to beidou since he does work in AoE and ST(Which beidou struggles in ST.). Except that's only if you wanna really play scary since that's mostly for sustainless teams. I kinda wished his passive still kept the energy through EC since that could help beidou.
Also idk what it is.. but i thought other than EC ororon might be better than fischl for spread since you can't abuse fischl's A4 and ororon can also hold elegy but he also can hold cinder city.

With Mavuika, Citlali and the other who jut got leaked, Citlali and the other are the only ones peaking my interest so far. honestly, if powercreep is only felt in small doses after 4 years, still says alot about how they manage things. powercreep is inevitable, and even then, even with chasca and ororon, powercreep still isnt a full swing
not even other mihoyo titles can keep up. hsr is already at a powercreep influx point, where i barely see anyone use someone like seele and blade.
non-hoyo titles could barely handle powercreep in 2 years. one gacha rpg i used to play now has insane powercreep. you dont pull for characters, but rather skills and abilities. back then the highest multipliers were 2000% in one skill. now, one skill not only reduced enemy's resistance, but also increases the user's attack, oh and multipliers that goes up to 8000%, and is done 5 times, in one skill on max investment (so 40000% mulipliers)
if it took hoyo 4 years to do this, its mighty impressive nonetheless

4:48 Based off of the chart provided in the video, could some one explain where Vars got the 80% and 300% in his dmg equation 2(80)+4(300)? Asc 5 is where the normal bullets deal abt 80%, but the shining shell only does 220% (If we assume Shining isn't put on all elemental bullets, her dmg drops by 155% per non shining). Asc 10 causes shining to deal 300%, but the normal bullets are 108%.

Fact: chasca is not the first character and actually not even the first anemo character that can deal other elemental type of damage; L,ynettes burst after going under elemental infusion deals damage of corresponding element it coverted to. Yeah its not high damage but is non-anemo elemental damage on her own kit.
Other Anemo characters can do the same bro, Venti, Sucrose, Sayu, Kazuha. The point is Chasca being the only one that doesn't absorb elements on field to deal Non Anemo dmg

Something I also really like is how they avoided making Ororon and Kinich get forced into Quicken. So far, Ororon is the only electro Natlan character that can trigger night soul, and Kinich is the same with Dendro, meaning they are the only quicken characters that can trigger Ororon’s passive, but Kinich works worse in Quicken teams.

It is noted in the wiki that ororon's burst has special ICD that it only applies electro every 3s (and it doesn't have any hit ICD), so the faster electro hits is literally just more personal damage for ororon (unless his C4 changes the special ICD).
Also i know its clickbait, but no chasca in terms of theoretical DPS doesn't powercreep any main-DPS in the game, in her premium team rn (before mavuika's release) her team DPS is only around that of alhaitham/clorinde/kinich tier DPS, it is no means bad, but it is strictly single target at C0.
e.g. 5:00 you know who else also deals that much motion value in the duration of their E? yup, kinich if you can do his quick-hold techs in which you can consistently fire 5 1200% canon shots, you want an example not from natlan, yup clorinde if you're using 4tf on her, she can 2E-state per rotation resulting in around 5.6k motion value, this is not counting all the fischl A4 passive she effectively drives.

(ii) at c6 she’s, imo, top 5 but no she hasn’t powercrept the aforementioned three, so she didn’t break the game. Also, current abyss buffs favor her.
(iii) if you’re not intending to pull for cons, or waiting for mavuika, she’s probably not the best for you.

To be fair, Chaska is truly a unique character-a hypercarry who literally has no regard for her enemies' elements. She doesn't need any off-field applicators, just buffers.
She might even be the next Kazuha, where people recognize her true power only after some time testing her. Well, not that you can test Chaska for consistency, but perhaps for raw damage.
And for those claiming she isn’t a power creep for Anemo DPS, just look at how she can destroy shields on her own. Please accept the fact that no Anemo DPS does it better than her.
If he had made this video in 5.0 when we got Mualani and Kinichi i would have said fair enough. But instead he is calling Chasca who is 'fine' a powercreep character, my guy you have to be trolling us right?

Though I think you might be missing the fact that she has anti-synergy with vulnerability units, so her scaling's to balance that, not necessarily pull ahead of other DPSes who can exploit that more.
Vars, Vars, I am not sure if you do these videos just to get comments or Hoyoverse is paying you. Chasca is ok. Unfortunately Ororon doesn’t work well with her if you want to do electro charge. At constellation zero she is just ok, I like the videos you do on “ why no one plays…” but theory crafting is NOT your forte. I wanted Chasca to be a great character but she has a lot of problems. Now you said she is Meta defined? Where? She is very single target, her AOE is not good. She is not at the same level like Arlecchino or other stronger DPS. Very disappointed in you to put this misleading video out. You know better. Or at least I thought you knew better 😢

Idk if any of these 2 represent powercreep. Ororon might.. but not to fischl. but to beidou and not completely . I mean he works in AoE and can actually work in ST however beidou has damage reduction and a shield at c2. Also i don't understand how he would be worse in spread since That's one of fischl lesser teams since her A4 can't be abused. I thought it be the opposite with him being better in EC and Spread while fischl on other teams.
I wonder if cinder city can even make up for the damage in fischl's other teams where her damage is relevant, Some chevreuse teams and ofc the Clorinde quickbloom teams, and the aggravate centered teams where she's BiS.
I just tried both of these chars today with the trial. First impression of Chasca- I'll be getting her at some point. It's the Navia situation all over again- Fun char, bad timing. I am trying to build an Overload team for Snezhnaya and that is going to take priority, which is why I am waiting for Mavuika. But yeah it's going to hurt to skip Chasca. Now with Ororon, with him being Electro-Charged geared, I won't be trying to get him too since I am also trying to avoid chars that help Hydro reactions since I have plenty of chars to help with that. Hydro isn't good against Cryo, so yeah.

Talking out of my ass here, but maybe because her werid "self reaction" making kit makes TCing complicated, they are delaying the guides intill they are sure thry are doing it right but considering the illegal leakers already did it just from the normal beta, the CCs probably had more thsn enough time
Finally someone said it. 100% agree and probably why I pulled for C2 Chasca. Most of these commenters just dont want to hear something that challenges the "save for Archon" notion, or only have a C0 Chasca. (Yes im skipping Mauvika, I dont need a 6th pyro 5star character anyways when She doesnt replace Bennett). The important thing is alot fail to see is she doesnt use the same geo/anemo supports your other teams use. freeing up that Xilonen/Kazuha slot is massive.

(by that logic anything is replaceable, theres a slew of other characters like zhong li/nahida etc that also can be used elsewhere that it feels pointless to mention)

Maybe I will get Chasca on her rerun. I have so many characters now that I'm not thrilled on getting more 5* characters and farming artifacts for them. Unless they are Archons, or they are so meta they are must pull. Best recent example being Xilonen, who by herself can res shred, heal, and buff group damage.
I got her accidentally while pulling oronon but I feel ya. Keing, tighnari, mualani, xilonen, kachina and now chasca and oronon all at once is already giving me a headache. Im lucky atleast that most using the the same natlan artfiact domain but my experience with emblem and golden troupe domain taught me that this isnt really that big of a help in farming for many characters

i'd suggest you look into other creators' takes on her first, this video is misleading in the way it overstates her effectiveness. she's great for exploration but nowhere near the level of neuvilette or arlecchino. good luck on your pulls! :)
Also I would generally advise this - don't just pull on dps characters unless you like them, and you have fun with their playstyle. Especially as a ftp. Invest in the dps characters you like, and good supports that make your favorite characters stronger. It'll make your account better and more fun in the long run.
If you are only looking for strength, Nuevi will generally be a stronger pull than these banners.

Noelle c6 on itto's sig goes brrrr in abyss (shes buffed by both xilonen and gorou thou i gonna admit)
Keqing isn't the stronger character in my account, but definitively the most reliable, since Dendro there wasn't even one patch that i couldn't deal with Aggravate or Quickbloom with her, she has one of the most flexibile playstyles in the game, the only thing holding her back is the damage.

her multipliers are pretty close to kinich’s tbh except that she doesnt have acess to a teamate holding deepwood but she has access to furina and Xilonen’s/Kazuha’s buffs, except that you want c2 for the last two
Not seeing the powercreep here.. I can understand youtubers to wanna hype new units but lets at least be realistic. Chasca looks great but she has some issues. Plus she cines before an Archon. Lots of reasons to think before pulling for her

The Dehya incident happened because the players have different vision of what she will be compared to the devs.
She is a good character if used correctly, like everyone else.
The funny thing is that the speedrunning guy is making records with his maxed out Chasca. One shotting bosses just as well as Mualani and arlecchino. So I meanzzzz yeahhh

I dont know why but my gut tells me that they're giving us this power creep and QOL early into Natlan to hold us over and give us that dopamine hit while they finish debugging and making a concrete plan for the next few patches. 1 new five star every month and a half is equivalent to a famine in terms of genshin. I dont expect this power creep to last forever and personally Im thankful for that.
Bro missed the mark a bit. Like yeah, Ororon is slightly better in taser teams, but Fischl still clears, and Chasca is a slightly better Wanderer, a character that was low A to B tier from the start. If you wanna talk powercreep in Natlan, go with Mualani and Xilonen.
Now let's see if Mavuika will finally powercreep Bennett and Xiangling, if that barrier gets broken then HoyoVerse will enter a new age. lol.

I'm really enjoying Ororon, he plays really easy in quickswap electrocharge with sucrose, Dori and xingqiu/furina, and his overworld movement is to me better and smoother than all the anemo boys combined

It's not just Archons that are OP. The Fatui are also OP. It's also likely that the Adepti will be OP as well. Characters that belong to certain "sets" seem like they will be OP as a rule. Our exposure to the characters from Natlan has mostly been Kachina + the legendary heroes. Not only does it make sense for the legendary heroes of the nation of war to be OP, but they are also part of a "set." Kachina was certainly not OP. We'll see if Citlali continues this trend of OP Natlan characters or not.

I don't see any problem with powercrept as long as they don't balance the game around them (like a game mode where you can't complete it without having at least one of these characters)
You don't see how more and more powerful characters will lead to people wanting more difficult enemies causing the lesser units to be unable to compete? People are already asking for tougher abyss enemies because the characters we have now are so strong. I'll give an example if you need one. I usually could only get 3-6 stars on floor 12 on the abyss. After xilonen came out it's been consistent full 9 stars since she came out. She allowed me, someone who puts little thought into min maxing, to full clear the top floors of the spiral abyss. If these characters are gonna make combat that much easier, people are gonna want harder fights to reintroduce challenge to the game. And that's when older characters get left behind. You will start seeing a problem with power creep then.
@luckytanuki5449 Or, hear me out here, they can do what fromsoft players did for years, have some imagination, and try to make self-imposed challenges like using less popular or weaker characters for more challenging content. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS THE SOLUTION, I AM JUST SAYING THIS IS AN OPTION, and it is a proven method. Self regulated difficulty, the game is only as hard or as easy as you want them to be.
@darkdrac7012 You and I both know how gamers are. They will always find the easiest path to achieving the goal and use it 100% of the time lol. Yea they COULD do self imposed challenges but they aren't going to because they would prefer to complain about the lack of end game content and difficulty of enemies.
@@luckytanuki5449 the only real struggle is for 4* only teams, most of the old characters can still do fine nowdays with the right supports, its just not that easy.
Keqing a 1.0 DPS, still one of my most confortable clears for every abyss since Sumeru, maybe only Neuvi and Arle teams can beat her on my account if not for specific enemy gimmicks like geo shield.
@lucasayabe Sure they can FOR NOW. But that's the point I'm making, for how long will that be the case. If units keep getting more and more powerful and people want harder enemies to fight. At some point older or less viable teams aren't gonna cut it anymore.
