The cacti your husband bought you grow so tall because they are grown with a little extra love, as my Mom used to say. Mom has dementia now. But, when she was younger, she absolutely loved plants/cacti. She could really make them grow. Even in the middle of Indiana!
Thank for taking time. Your cactus tour is great. Putting labels on them is perfect. Now I know what they are. I gave you A+ for your efforts. Thank you again. 😎
You have no ball cactus? The ones that grow huge. You have a beautiful cacti collection. I've just gotten into cactus this year. And man.. it's addicting. Lol. You just wanna buy them all. 😃
Fun video! Love all your euphorbias, too. Those astrophytums are just plain cute.🧡 I'm trying to figure out how to keep my cacti outside this summer in St. Louis for the first time. This weekend it's all about keeping them dry 🙂 Oh, I think your unknown cactus looks like my gymnocalycium baldianum. Someone mentioned Desert Plants of Avalon, I also like Cactus Caffeine's videos. She's in Las Vegas.
Love ❤️ your plants. For your cactus garden, does the pot have drainage holes? I’d look to create the same but wonder if I can do it in a pot with no drainage holes. 🤷🏽♀️
the first cactus you showed i have one 9 foot tall. it has arms and i have cut it back twice. i have a pencil cactus 5 foot + tall. also 4 other cactus between 4-5 foot. then i do have smaller cactus that are slow growing. the fairly castle of mine is about 5 inches. i was glad to see they can get bigger. thank you for showing your cactus and their names. the names helped me to identified some of them.
Nicole you have an amazing cacti collection. I feel that they are a little overlooked, and they are such chill plants to own. Put them in a sunny window and water them sparingly💕🌵 That can be a challenge with the sunny window because all of our plants want that space😜🤣 Thanks for sharing
Euphorbia is an extensive genus of plants with more than 2,000 species. It is not a cacti. This is why I changed my plan of mixing Cactus and Euphorbias in one pot for my desert pot scene. I am now planning to make 2 desert pot scene. One for Cactus and 1 for Euphorbias since they dont exist in the same environment. Nice collection by the way. Im heading your path . I now have almost 20 in my collection 😁
Tephrocactus Articulatus or "Paper Spine" Cactus, Opuntia macrocentra, the long-spined purplish prickly pear or purple pricklypear and the Echinocereus rigidissimus, commonly known as the Arizona Rainbow Cactus or Rainbow Hedgehog Cactus are some of my favorite. I own the first two and I am looking for the rainbow cactus locally before ordering online. Great video.
Beautiful Cactus! I know this is an older video however what is the soil type that you have the cactus growing in? I have a collection although far smaller than yours however they are healthy!
Nicole that’s a Medusa. The ones after the spineless cactus. Yes the really prickly pear cactus pad is cold hardy. Love your cactus plants. Great video.
After searching for 3 hours on the internet looking for a name of a cacti that I have I finally found it on your video!! Yaaay !! It is the Eves needle !! Thanks for a great video I am now following your channel !
Awesome video! Your Fairytale cactus is super pretty, as well as all of the rest!!! So so pretty!!! Do they each get watered at the same time? Once every 2 weeks or longer? Have an awesome week! Peace out! Be safe in Chicago!
I do have a moisture meter, but if I’m being transparent, I don’t use it much anymore. I know when they need water after having them for so long. BUT YES! That is what I would recommend- letting them dry before watering thoroughly
Beautiful cactus. I wish I could have a few of your plants. My moon cactus is dying After a year Just a stem, totally normal. and I need to transplant the ball on another dragon fruit and you have exactly what I'm looking for. Lol Your little white ball cactus I have one that's about 2 and a 1/2 feet tall. I call it an old man Cactus because the white resembles an old man's beard. And right beside that cactus. I have a few other ones and the other day. I bought the snake plants which I call Mother-in-law's tongue. And now, after watching your video I might just go get the hedgehog cactus. That's what that cactus resembles . A hedgehog and the top of it has a little bit of orange. Just keep in mind any desert cactus needs direct sunlight. Any holiday cactus would be opposite. They would thrive indoor away from a window. But all cactus need light. You did a very beautiful job on your video and you have a desert full of cactus , love it It's so true. I bought one cactus and it's addictive. I can't stop buying the damn plant now. And all I wanted was the one. Now I have too many and running out of window ledges.😂😂
Hi I love your collection. I’m starting to get quite the collection myself. I’m wondering about light. Mine get a lot in the spring and summer but winter I always worry about them. I live in Alberta, Canada and it gets really cold. I see you have yours all over and not under lights or have them all in a window. Would they just not grow or flower if they are in a lower light area?
They were very slow growing due to lack of BRIGHT direct light, but I recently got grow lights (video posted in November) and they are much more happy :)
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your video. I've been looking online for so long, to figure out which species of cacti I have. Turns out that I have a silver/wooly torch cactus. When should I repot it? Should I repot it now or wait till Spring? Thank you for the video :)
Oh my Gosh Nicole! you have an amazing collection of cacti, until I have the proper lighting conditions and the space, which will probably not happen until next year I can't even think about getting any,so I will just enjoy your collection till them. I would really like the boobie cactus, and I have a pot for it, lol! so we will see about that one. Loved the tour of all of them it was super fun learning about the many different kinds. Take care and I will see you soon, XOXO, bye for now.
Muy bonita colección aunque pienso estaría en mejores condición con un clima más acorde pero bueno eso no lo elegimos , se hace con lo que tenemos , vi tu video de principio a fin !!! Enhorabuena
I am so jealous of your Euphorbia collection 😭, your Echinopsis cactus are, Echinopsis oxygona, your ric tac cactus is mislabeled it's actually Epiphyllum anguliger, but you have a very impressive collection, one day I'll get there, to have a collection as beautiful as yours, very entertaining video!
It's interesting to go through your cactus collection. Is it advisable to plant different species of cactus into one pot to create an interesting pot garden or each in it's own pot?
I find cactus do very well potted together even if they’re different species. I like to keep my “special” cactus / euphorbia potted separately just in case one gets root rot, it can spread to others. Same with pests. So that’s just something to keep in mind.
@@MyCleanLeaves I am fascinated by Mammillaria spinosissima. This solid green spiky ball with single long thorn extended out from each spike is among my favourite cacti. I wonder if there's any common name for this cactus.
Our temps in Chicago JUST reached above freezing at night. And I do not bring them all outside because it’s a lot bringing them back in. But they get the strongest light possible in my window.
I have an Opuntia at the beginning of my driveway and when I moved in they had not been properly cared for, lots of debris around it and just serious decline. I got in there and cleaned it out and now its 3rd year with me it has grown, especially this year. I know he will bloom eventually because I see them in bloom all around town. And it is the cold hardy variety because we get snow here in NC. But...he is an a-hole and will spit his spines at you if you get too close. I've potted up 2 pots of cuttings now so I can take him with me when I move, because I'm super proud I've brought him back to life. Only true cactus I have. Thinking I need a few more now. Loved, loved your collection! ✌💟🌿

At 2:48 the one next to the 'Living Stones' / Lithops looks like a Crassula ‘Rupestris.
I love the little lava rock pebbles as a top dressing! I should try that!
Thanks!!! I love the look of them
Beautiful cactus collection! Thanks for showing!❤🌵
Thank for taking time. Your cactus tour is great. Putting labels on them is perfect. Now I know what they are. I gave you A+ for your efforts. Thank you again. 😎
Love your cacti collection, very nice. Yes, there are cold hardy cacti.
Hey Sweetie, you could be chapped as well as sunburned. That happened to me, took forever to heal.
You have no ball cactus? The ones that grow huge. You have a beautiful cacti collection. I've just gotten into cactus this year. And man.. it's addicting. Lol. You just wanna buy them all. 😃
The fishbone cactus looks like anguliger with its rounded leaves, antonyanus has more pointed leaves known as shark tooth
I'm loving cacti and succulents soo much more lately! I'm really looking to grow my collection and seeing yours helped me make a wish list! Thanks 😊🌵
Thanks Teresa!!
Wow, love your cacti collection. I think the one cactus is a gymnocalycium baldianum(12:12) I got mine recently from home depot or Lowe's☺️
Oh awesome!!! Thanks!!
That was amazing! So many. Appreciate the labels
Do u know when a cactus that has a long stem coming out of it and has littlee oval bulbs and starting to open are they seeds that can plant
Fun video! Love all your euphorbias, too. Those astrophytums are just plain cute.🧡

Love ❤️ your plants. For your cactus garden, does the pot have drainage holes? I’d look to create the same but wonder if I can do it in a pot with no drainage holes. 🤷🏽♀️
Yes it does
Phoenix airport has cute little petting cactus! I bought one on my way home from Yuma!!!

So fun!!!
Ive had some Cactri bloom while in tiny pots. You just need good quality soil. Check out the ingredients of 'Grow Buddha' cactus soil.
I have a tiny mamillia . I had no idea how to find it
Nicole you have an amazing cacti collection. I feel that they are a little overlooked, and they are such chill plants to own. Put them in a sunny window and water them sparingly💕🌵

Wow what a collection!!!
Thank you!
Yay a cactus tour!! My first ever plant loves were mamillaria and I feel like so many plant tubers miss out on cacti
Yeay!!! Those are so pretty
I have a ming thing but mine doesn’t grow in tiny clusters like yours. It’s growing with 4 heads. 😅
Haha of wow!!!
Opuntia ficus indica or Barbary fig almost doesn't have glochids and/or spines. You might like it.
Hey, I couldn’t find the white stone in your Amazon?! Could you be so kind to post the link?! I love it!!
I’ve used this one before….
amzn.to/3GZrU8A
But I also LOVE this stone (just not white)…

Beautiful Cactus! I know this is an older video however what is the soil type that you have the cactus growing in? I have a collection although far smaller than yours however they are healthy!
Now I use De La Tanks soil. It’s a great airy mix!! I top them with lava stone.
Cool collection of cactus.
Thank you!!
Great collection! Thanks for sharing
Nicole that’s a Medusa. The ones after the spineless cactus. Yes the really prickly pear cactus pad is cold hardy. Love your cactus plants. Great video.
Medusa yes!!! Thanks Tammy!
I do have an euphorbia white ghost. It doesnt grow fast. Do you know how to grow cactus faster and larger?
Light and fertilizer and as optimal conditions as you can give it!
@@MyCleanLeaves thank you;)
Looking good Nicole! Currently got my eye on a ric rac cactus - just love the shape!
Yes it’s so cool!
So BEAUTIFUL
Super collection I loved it
Do they flower? Tomato fertilizer will help them bloom...
Awesome collection ❤

Yes! I usually water them all at once. Some I give a little more depending on the size. It’s usually every 2-3 weeks
Do you have a pink flowering crown of thorns. I also have a butter yellow flowering one. Let me know if you're interested.
I don’t! I would love them!!
Maybe we can trade :) send me a DM on IG 🧡
BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION.
Thank you!
Do you have a moisture meter ? If so do you wait till ur moisture meter says 1 (lowest number on scale) to water these ?
I do have a moisture meter, but if I’m being transparent, I don’t use it much anymore. I know when they need water after having them for so long. BUT YES! That is what I would recommend- letting them dry before watering thoroughly
So good to see you do this again! Just seems like yesterday when I watched your first one!
😉
How often do you water them? Im from chicago too
It really depends on a lot of factors - soil medium, light, conditions…
Great collection
Want an Obesa😁 and that "juicy " one, love it😉 also got to get an old man cactus 😄🌵
Love the idea of the gatden cactus also, very cool all together 😁
Thanks so much Lorraine!

What do u use for ur labels? So jealous of ur collection 😍
Oh thanks! They’re in my Amazon store in the description below :)
I love that old man cactus and pot together 😍
It’s one of my favorites!
They're all so amazing!! Every time there was one without spines/with very spaced out spines I just wanted to pet it 😄💚
Hahahah same!
All the cacti are so cute!! I can’t keep them alive though.
Awww - they’re not easy it takes some getting to know them that’s for sure
New Subscriber here! Love your collection and knowledge.

I have an old man of the Andes cactus and he is my favorite!!!!

Oh and I just subbed you!❤🌵❤
Thank you!!!
Amazing
Love that blue candle 😍 i think the one at 8:10 is not Peruvian apple cactus
Yeah idk... I’m torn on it. It was definitely labeled that but it doesn’t look exactly like it either
Can you leave the link for the white shelves?
Yes! Adding now - sorry about that!!
@@MyCleanLeaves thank you so much!(:
pretty sure the pilocereus red spine is a actually a mammilaria elongata v. copper
Cool thanks ;)
That red spine pilosocereus looks a lot more like a Mammilaria elongata to me. Also 19:26 = Thanksgiving cactus.
Muy bonita colección aunque pienso estaría en mejores condición con un clima más acorde pero bueno eso no lo elegimos , se hace con lo que tenemos , vi tu video de principio a fin !!! Enhorabuena
WoW you Cactus ROCK Girl
Thanks!
Is that lava rock you have on some of your cactus? I've never seen it that little, I see it in a lot better form.
Yes it’s from Bonsai Jack! It’s in my amazon store
@@MyCleanLeaves ok thank you, I need to order some. I like the way it looks 🙂
Opuntia fragilis, I love the one with pink flowers d: .
Oooo pink flowers!!!! Yes!
I’ve been building up my cactus collection here in AZ. I still want to get a domino and a chocolate drop. 😬
Oh yes!!! Those are so cute! 🌵
I feel like most videos are for tropical ariod plants. So, I love this video 🥰

I love a bishop's cap

UVA and UVB sunscreen especially with a cloudy sky.
It’s not a cactus, but I have an aloe khamiesensis that grows SO well for me, and I think you’d really enjoy it! Maybe check it out on the google!!
I will! Thanks!!
Do you know about euphoria obesa?
Yes, they’re in this video! I also did another video featuring them at a plant shop in Tucson where the owner explained how they “pollinate” :)
Dont be afraid to put your cacti in direct light. They're desert dwellers! They require it.
Think it's a Medusa cactus ...and those 2 are not red torch .they are organ pipe slow growing cactus 🌵
Where do u get the cactus? Live yr collection.
Love I meant
All over the place! My mom lives in AZ so I’ve gotten a lot there... California, Florida, some shops in Chicago, New York.....

If you put your Lichtenbergia cactus out in the sun for the season, it may reward you with a beautiful yellow flower. 😁😁
💛💛💛
Any cactus variety with "inermis" in its name has no spines or glochids. "Inermis" means "harmless."
👍👍👍
