- How to make a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato! This video was for my speech class so this drink wasn't actually for customer and I was newer to the company at the time. I know drink standards now so please stop commenting. THIS WAS FOR SCHOOL NOT TO ACTUALLY LEGIT LEARN.

A barrista made mine with half foam and it was deliberate. So now any time I order from them I show them the Starbucks website list of the way I want the machiato done "no foam", full milk, 4 shirts of vanilla, caramel drizzle, hot and full. And I show that list to them without exception. Half foam again and I'll show them the list. Very condescending and berating, I know, but some barristas are narcissistic and think conning customers is acceptable.

Just bought a Nespresso machine and tried to many different measures as far as it not tasting like hot milk and cant get it right! :( i used 13 to 16oz of hot milk, 2 40ml nespresso pods and 2 pumps of vanilla syrup and caramel drizzle on top.. still taste like hot milk 😭

i know the brown liquid on top of the drink as the last thing to add before putting the lid on. it's caramel syrup, isnt it? but what was the liquid she pumped out as step 1?
Yes the brown is caramel drizzle! The other was vanilla syrup! ☺️
well, i didnt know i needed caramel drizzle. this morning, i walked to the shop and got caramel syrup. so this is the only thing i have apart from milk, coffee, mason jar and icecubes. wish i knew caramel drizzle before i went to the shop! thank you Kj for letting me know.

not really. i brought my own expensive coffee machine. the homemade taste a lot better. specially the milk ratio and oily coffee bean grind give it the aroma.

i think starbuck uses vanilla syrup in making caramel macchiato. caramel sauce is only for the drizzle. the main component here is vanilla syrup

As a Starbucks employee I 100% agree with you. If you drink coffee daily then you should 100% invest in a espresso machine.

Mos Randy it comes with caramel drizzle on top, but if ur talking about caramel syrup then yes. But u would have to ask for caramel syrup not vanilla.

Either! I like mine mixed personally. It’s called “upside down.” The espresso goes before the milk so that it mixes together.
The steamed milk is poured in after the pumps of vanilla so the milk is flavored. The shots go on top into the beverage so you taste kind of a bitter sweet type of milk. In a latte or cappuccino it’s the shots that are poured first along with the syrup.

The only caramel part about the drink is the syrup on top. The tall gets 2 pumps. The grande gets 3 pumps. And the venti gets 4

16 oz. You may get a tall! Talls (12 oz) get 1 shot :)
One shot is a latte two shots is a machiatto at least that's how I make it at home

Barista here! Uhm, caramel macchiatos should be filled to the top and milk shouldn’t be steamed for too long. Perhaps, did you order a Cappuccino? Cappuccino is just straight up foam (steamed milk for too long) and just espresso.

Do 16oz drinks and 12oz drinks both have a double shot ?
Grande and Tall sizes both have double shots. Venti has 3 and Short has 1. People don't normally get short so I just think of it as 2,2,3

abdul mohammad actually a tall (12 oz) gets one shot at starbucks! a grande (16 oz) gets 2 and an ICED venti (26 oz) gets 3! coming from a starbucks barista :)

Grande & Venti= 2 shots.

Hahaha I know!! I was very new when I made this video and it was for speech class (a 'how to' speech) so it wasn't for a customer. I've been with Starbucks for a lil over 3 years now and my drinks are WAYYY better beverage quality. hehe

No..latte macchiatto is different..that's basically just an upside down cappuccino..so the milk is foamy. If you want it unsweetened, then just say..no vanilla syrup.. But that probably would not taste good..or if you want less sweet..you could say 1 or 2 pumps..the tall, grande & venti cup syrup measurements are 3,4& 5 starting with tall.

I recently called my Starbucks and made a complaint because I wasn't tasting the caramel in my caramel macchiato...he says we don't put caramel we use vanilla ...well now you know why I'm calling to complain about my drink. Wow this clearly shows caramel smh!

You're the worst type of customer. First of all vanilla pumps are the standard. Stop taking your anger out on barristas for standards set by corporate leaders. Secondly you can say "no vanilla, add caramel syrup" for more caramel flavor. Simple as that. Third, this is a 7 year old video and I'm pretty damn sure they just put vanilla in that.
You're proof the customer is NEVER right.

SkinnyBoyCole It’s so overwhelming at first, but if you are determined to do the best you can do, then it becomes a lot easier. You just gotta realize that failure comes with success. There are times I make a full drink and the throw it away cause I forgot one little thing in it.
It is tough in the beginning, but it helps so much when you have your entire team there to back you up. There's always someone to answer your question, always someone to support you. I've been with Starbucks now for nearly 4 years, and I look back on myself in this video and cringe at my drink quality -- thankfully it was for my speech class and not a customer. You grow, it takes time, but you grow. :)

Nope, it has 3, the "4th" pump is the caramel drizzle! They all get one less because of the drizzle. :)

Bc it’s a drink? All I’m touching is the OUTSIDE of the cup. We also wash our hands anytime we touch ANYTHING on our bodies or things like the trash. Hands are kept swell washed as they should be. Now food. Yes we where gloves.

No lol this is a caramel macchiato. Latte macchiato is whole milk, no syrups, but the shots still on top. You can see I use 2% milk, vanilla syrup and caramel drizzle, hence a caramel macchiato. However, both beverages do get the shots on top as macchiato means "stained" or "spotted" because it is marking the milk.
Tomei hoje pela primeira vez um cappuccino no Starbucks, e foi a pior experiência da vida. Pense em um cappuccino aguado e sem gosto nenhum, nada se compara ao café e cappuccino das cafeteterias brasileiras. Eu e meu marido detestamos e foi caro, Starbucks é só marketing. Fora que vem no copo de papel oque pra nós brasileiros é uma heresia. Cafés e cappuccinos devem ser servidos em xícaras de porcelana, porque faz parte do ritual. Gostamos de apreciar todos os detalhes, desde o aroma até o sabor e o do Starbucks pra piorar a experiência veio fedido, parecia que a moça tinha peidado no copo e colocado a tampa kkk porque quando abrimos estava bem fedido, ali não tinha nada de aroma de café, mas de meia suja. Nota 0 pra Starbucks! 👎🏼

Lol no. Gets one less pump for a caramel macchiato. The drizzle is the last “pump.” I made a grande so it’ll get 3 pumps vanilla, a normal grande vanilla LATTE would get 4 pumps.
