I think there was a bad air leak at some point and it overheated the crank and damaged the bearing. And then the rest snowballed, get some good replacement parts and rebuild it the correct way and you should have a good saw for a long time. I got a holzforma 372xp clone saw and i tore it down and put oem bearings which is the skf and then put a used oem crank in it and then a hyway pop up top end it in along with a oem carb and a oem coil and the thing runs and performs just like an oem saw
