Native Northern Knoxvillian here and I just wanted to "thank you so very much!" for these wonderful videos! Well done, in every aspect!
My father, born in 1921, used to say that one of his favorite childhood memories was getting to drive the horse and wagon to the Market Square House to sell vegetables and eggs. From The Gibbs area, that was a long drive!

Great video! Markets and open spaces to sell goods use to be a main stay of cities, my favorite (that still exists) is the Headhouse Farmers’ Market in Philly. It dates back to the early 1700s!

I used to go to Market Square for the bars/clubs at night during the early 1990s, so this was great to learn the history of a familiar place. When I used to go there, the storefronts held a video game company called Cyberflix, Flying Tomato Pizza, the Mercury Theatre and the Snakesnatch Lodge (bars).

I remember i in the 70's. My grandma and I would go to.maarket square once a week. There was a thrift store called the Bargain Box. And then we ate at Nan'sDemton. I really miss those days.

I feel like these are [great] topics that wouldn't give more mainstream urban planning TH-camrs views, so thanks for filling the gap!

Wonderful video. My wife and I have been contemplating relocating our family to the Knoxville area in the next 1-2 years. I have found very few worthwhile channels/videos on the region. It is awesome to see such a great in depth story and I look forward to seeing and learning so much more from your future videos. Thank you for your time and effort you put into these and for publicly sharing them.

Please do a piece on Scott and Bernadette West's wild and wonderful influence on downtown and the Old City. MS would not be what it is today without them and cannabis! They are the huge force behind the return of music and festivals and they now own almost the entire east side of the square. Aside from Scott, Bernie, and Jack, another good source for MS/downtown info is Allan (Inside of Knoxville blog).

Keep making these videos. There's a real hunger for livable cities as North Americans discover how tedious and uninviting car-centric design has made our neighborhoods and cities. Looking forward to seeing what you make in the future!

I would love to do a documentary with you about Knoxville. You seem to have a passion for telling interesting historical events that i think many people would love to hear. Im in Colorado springs and looking to find a place in the Knoxville area to move. Hopefully we can come up with a great idea for a story about Knoxvilles new vibe and where its going in the future. If interested reach out to me and lets talk.
