Don’t be ashamed of calling it what it is Scott. We lost our son to a stupid act. He was trying to drift his car around a 25 mph curve. Estimated impact in the trunk of an oak tree was 75mph. And when I tell the story, people look shocked that I would describe it that way. I explain to them that calling it what it is, is important to maybe have his tragedy save another. Lots of love man!! ❤️

omg im so sorry Chris. so its ok to say its stupid they drove so fast? shouldn't of trespassed either. this is sad. ik a young man turned 16, got a sports car. he wanted it parents bought it . he went punching it wrapped around a tree. he died but I think his friend lived. for one, he shouldn't of had that powerful car at 16 out with another minor driving. really sad. he was a good boy and the only son had 2 sisters

When i was a law enforcement officer we responded to a wreck and a old model impala had hit an embankment flew up and wrapped completely around a huge oak tree about 50 feet up. We started finding body parts. We helped the corona to collect them all. When it came to a total of 7 boys that had been in the car. Flashbacks are hell.😔

I love Scott on Tape but haven't watched in a while due to vivid PTSD from things I've endured but my brother committed suicide like that and I don't go an hour a day without traumatic intrusive thoughts and I also lost my daughter in a tragic accident. I guess I shouldn't read these comments because some are way too vivid for me but in my opinion not necessary. Just too much information in my opinion . Thank you Scott for sharing this tragic accident. These young boys were the cream of the crop. Just best of the best. Not risk takers by any means. They we're all gifted, talented, athletic, respectful and just amazing young men. Each came from incredible, attentive, loving families too. Parents were involved in their education and lives from Kindergarten on through graduation until their deaths. Knowing Josh the driver and Dusty, they all probably thought testing the car on a runway was the safest. No other cars to endanger, has distance etc. Little did they know what the outcome would be. We lost some incredible young men that night. Still breaks my heart 💔. Went through cub scouts, T ball, homecoming, proms etc together. Such great memories of them. Reminded that something so innocent, turned tragic in a few seconds. Miss them so much. Thanks for sharing their story.

As a mother of several 20 somethings i am deeply grateful you created this short film. As a single mother of young women and men i find it very challenging to ensure my family and their friends hear me on safety. I even tell them i will gladly and free of judgement call an Uber to get any and all of them for any reason at any hour. I sent them all this video as Friday night nears. I know that nearly almost all- if not all of us have done things that were risky to say the least. I have been in those situations in my younger days with great regret. It is never worth it! My heart goes out to the loved ones and friends of these 5 young men. 🕊️💐🐓

Very touching Scott. My brother got into a horrible accident when I was 16, he was going to fast through a small embutment (small bridge for those who don't live in the country. Lol) and he met a van coming through the other side, tried to stop but loose gravel propelled him on, and he hit the van head on. Long story short, he's still with us, thank the Lord, but he lost both eyelids, skin off his forehead and the tip of his nose, when he hit the windshield. The other people were fine, just terrified when my bro got out to check on them. But you are right, when we're young, we think we're invinsible and nothing can stop us and we make dumb decisions. I didn't know about this story, but I am going to show this to my daughter, who happens to be a new driver, 😱🙈🤬. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Scott, John Travolta also lived in an airplane community in Port Orange, FL near Daytona Beach. It was called Spruce Creek. My Aunt and Uncle lived there. The community voted for John Travolta to leave because he was landing his jets there and the runway wasn’t equipped to handle his heavy aircraft. It was a neat community and all the streets were named after aviation terminology e.g. Tail Spin Lane and Downwind Drive. I enjoyed your video! Take care and God bless.

Thanks Scott for this video, my respect to the 5 boys perished in this accident and my support to their loved ones. This is only speculation, but there could be one more "natural" reason behind horrible accidents like these. Depending on for example how low you sit in the vehicle, what is your speed and if it is dark (even a full moon could play its tricks), you could think that the runway would still continue when in fact you have reached the end of it and it's too late to stop. Similar kind of visual illusion could make you drive into the water; it happened in my hometown when young soldiers got lost on their way back to their base, took a route through a harbor area and drove straight into the sea while apparently thinking that the road continued on when it didn't (in this latter case the road did continue but on the other side, there was water between). In any case, this was a tragic accident and hopefully it will never happen again.

PLEASE, young people - this CAN happen to TOO YOU and to YOU and to YOU! One single risk is all it will take. Don’t send the police to your door to notify YOUR parents that they will never see you in this life again!! Speaking up with a “no, man…I ain’t doin’ it” does NOT make you a coward!” It makes you …… ALIVE! And alive is the only way to live…
It breaks my heart that the driver recognized he was in trouble seconds before impact and tried to correct and slow down. I pray none felt ANY pain and that “died upon impact” meant just that.
Scott, you, my friend are an absolute TREASURE!!! I don’t know what you were doing before TH-cam, but whatever it was, was wrong!
You touch so many hearts! You present your episodes with kindness, compassion and caring. You research for details not yet presented and you never become maudlin.
