Fun fact: Stan having a brother is hinted at in many ways throughout season 1, but in episode 19 Dreamscaperers is the biggest clue: when Dipper, Mabel and Soos enter Grunkle Stan's mind there's an image of a double swing with one of the seats broken. In this episode, this same swing is shown at the end, and the seat we saw broken is occupied by Stan's brother.
You can also see Ford’s glasses in the hidden room as well as Ford himself when Dipper and Mabel travel through time
Also Stan getting emotional over the wax figure and throwing a funeral for it makes so much sense in hindsight.
they actually showed him alot earlier in time traveler's pig. He looked a lot more like stan and he was hiding his hands so it was hard to figure out if it was really ford.

Man I remember back when I was watching these episodes of Gravity Falls come out people had built up the theory of Stan having a brother. Like if you go back to some of the old episodes you can see the very subtle hints.

SAME Like it was such torture waiting those four months ESPECIALLY with a bombshell like Stan’s twin being confirmed canon.
I also remember that the people that disapproved of the Stan Twin theory I pictured them doing the Stan Wrong song from Boss Mabel. I know that a lot of them weren’t happy to be proven wrong.

Watching this episode for the first time with the state that the fandom was in was insane. This reveal was SO built up and it felt so satisfying to finally see.
I like how one of them even said “A Tale of Two Stans” yet they still argued about the names for a bit
I mean, they didn't know anything about theories like STNLYMBL and things like that. So to them it could just mean that is because they're brothers and they look similar.
i don't think he randomly said it, he probably said it because the next episode showed up, it was right at the end, kinda when on netflix the next episode automatically starts, still that doesn't mean they "know" they are both named Stan
Initially, the episode title "Not What He Seems" makes a viewer think that Stan isn't the loving gruncle he seems to be. In reality, this episode makes Gruncle Stan appear to be some sort of villain almost, and he is not the villain he seems to be. The episode title works both ways!

Ford was actually about to end bill, but then the reality started rumbling and the portal opened and he had to get through before Bill could. If Stan had waited just an hour, weirdmageddon wouldn't have hapoened

it has been revealed that this universe is the only universe that the pines won, so in retrospect, the universe where stan waited an hour, bill somehow wins in that one.

Okay with the whole Family relation; Stan and his brother, The Author, are both Dipper and Mabel’s Great Uncles meaning that they obviously have another sibling that had children. That’s how relation works.
Some fans of the show disapprove this because there is evidence of Stan having a kid and then being the kids grandpa instead of Great Uncle but ultimately (whether it’s true or not) the creator Alex Hirsch didn’t go through with that “apparent” plan.

You know that their Grandfather was even shown in "the tale of the two Stans". His name is Shermy amd he apeared as a baby in this episode. There isn't much known about him besides he wore a bow tie when Dipper and Mabel were born.
Funny enough, Alex Hirsch said Grunkle Stan was inspired by his and his twin sister's grandfather, Stan.
If you watch the behind the scenes special BEHIND THE PINES, Hirsch shows the audience pictures of himself, his sister and grandfather and you can SEE where GRAVITY FALLS came from!
Even some of the pictures we've seen in the show were clearly taken from Hirsch's family albums!
Could just as well have been a cousin of theirs, and not another brother. Then they’d simply be a few times removed.
Unless of course the creators specifically stated that they DID have another brother.
Mabel was "the key" to bringing Stan's brother back.
Most of the series revolves around dipper but most of the finale revolves around mable

book of bill has me fully back into my gravity falls fangirl phase, and goddamn does this episode never stop hitting. i still basically shake with excitement and a racing heart every single time i watch NWHS. the score, the direction, the coloring, literally everything about it is perfect!! by far the most satisfying thing i’ve ever watched, i don’t even have the words
