Criterion is my favorite label also. Great movies and discoveries with these films. Makes you forget about mainstream garbage and really understand and love the essences of film. Thanks for the video!
Yeah, it's one of the only labels that seems to truly appreciate and put effort into everything from obscure B horror to arthouse indie to foreign language masterpiece. So much rich variety and discovery!
You can appreciate films in the Criterion Collection without labeling everything that’s “mainstream” as “garbage”. Way to be close minded and pretentious. Is a movie like the Lord of the Rings trilogy mainstream garbage?
Great Collection. I picked up 1035 Come and See but feel like I need to be in the right mood to watch such heavy film. Highly recommend checking out 1171 Romeo and Juliet. Just a fanatic film with a great score.
Hi I really want to see the British Amicus film, Danger Route 1967. I collect lots of Hammer and Amicus films. Danger Route is on Amazon prime US streaming but has never been released on disc.
This method of showing a video collection is akin to just publishing a list of the films online, as each film gets about 2 seconds of screen time here. And refusing to actually name the films is perverse behaviour in my book - it’s really not difficult to learn how to pronounce the titles of movies you purport to love!
I've never seen anyone combine DVD & Blu Ray on the same shelf, I would definitely separate them but that's just me😅 What would you say on your Top 3 Criterion films you've seen?
Hey I just have a question, as someone who's moving into a new place and plans to get shelves I was thinking I would put it on the sides of my TV so I can admire them anytime. I see you have them displayed in a completely other room. Is there a reason for that, is it just space?
So I actually have a movie room, I have my tv set up on one side and my collection is throughout the room. If you’re curious I have a room tour video on my channel on how I have everything set up!
Amazing collection. Every few minutes, you said "fantastic film". So, because your collection is big as in The Criterion Closet, what film would you pickup from the shelves? We would like to hear it from you. Let's say, your top 10. Thanks.
So have you totaled up the number of criterions you still need to get to complete the collection? I’d be curious what that number is. Amazing collection man!
@@jubjubson2410 I have not but I should go through and count, I have a detailed note book of everything I have and everything I still need and what format it’s available on.
To me what makes it special is the fact that its a curated collection of films that are significant to cinema as an art form. I think what makes them slightly more expressive than your average bluray is the restoration work and the added special features, there is a lot of work behind the scenes of each release that in my opinion justifies the $20 price (during the sale). If your not aware of what criterion is Id encourage you to go check out the website and just browse what they have to offer!
I think it's more offensive not to name the title of each movie, you could have easily just said their english translations. Accommodating the vocal micro-minority that actually care (or pretend to on the internet) how accurate a word is pronounced seems more than a bit unnecessary.

FANTASTIC collection! I'm jealous. I have 73 of those, and plan on getting many more. But I'm kind of picky LOL
I have watched a dozen criterion collection videos.
You are the first to have:
no.6 La Belle et La Bete
I was starting to think I was the only one!!
Who do you think you are? Daisuke Beppu?
Hi my collecting started in May 2007 with wanting just one movie 1942s Cat People. Now I have a physical media collection of about 1000 movies.
I know I’ve probably said so before but this collection is crazy impressive
Thank you!
Quite the collection Kyle! Love the Criterion Collection
Wow, what a great libary. I will follow your Videos in future. Br Horst
I just realized how long your shelf was...
How do you have enough money to eat. These are very expensive. You have a very impressive collection. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Jeez,i wish i've had a shelf sacks in packs of as-in by criterion collection films just like your 😮💨

Come and see is definitely a heavy film but its very very good! And Romeo and Juliet is high on my list!
My favourite like you I have upwards of 700 now no actual dvds though but I have every spine since Jan 2020 to present.
The wooden shelf looks cool.
thank you!

fair bit of money spent right there!
Like you said man the only problem is you forget to say the spine number and titles you might as well try. New subscriber
Impressive nonetheless

thank you! I have another video on my channel talking about some of my favorite criterion films! But thank you for the suggestion!
@@kylesmoviecollection watched it in the meantime. Thank you. You're a true cinephile. Hope you have a good cinema setup.
Sooo, you’re just gunna glance over spine #17, just another movie in the collection😂
That's got to be my least favorite movie of all time
@@Jimmy-lv9mzI forced my way through it once, yeah its basically unwatchable. Not sure if I would own that one😅
Awesome Collection 🎉 Great Video!
thank you!
Now when i'm watchin Criterion Closet picks i know the numbers for their choices. How much do you think your entire collection is worth?
Im not sure, Im guessing a few thousand ?
Awesome collection!
thank you!
Interesting 156 isn’t out of print. I guess I assumed it was :)
its a weird one in that its not available at B&N but its available on the criterion website. One im for sure to picking up during the flash sale!

What is the "Criterion" collection? What makes a film worthy of the name, to me I think its a expensive way to see some of the best films ever made?

I DEMAND sir...to know the specs of those shelves.
I have a video of me building one of the shelves on my channel

I stay here but the numbers of the films are not very interesting
Must be nice to have money to pi$$ away like that.
