A blast from the past 😊
Heels weren't low for comfort. It was about balancing the proportions of the look. Try pairing a pair of high heels with a 60s mini skirt, and you'll see what I mean.
Many wore flat boots in darker colours, being more practical than the white seen in fashion photography.
The mini skirt was ubiquitous. Your mother, aunts, and little sister all wore it. Even your grandmothers hemline showed a hint of lower knee, as did the Queen's. However, unlike todays short skirts, you also wore tights. These were nothing like the fine, elegant stocking of the 50s. These were thick, high denier, reinforced gusset afairs. You looked covered up. Tan was a popular shade for everyday wear, the more adventurous patterns and colourways being restricted to the very trendy. Thinking about it now, the silhouette was reminiscent of a medieval young.
I still recall my disappointment when hemlines dropped. Of course, that wouldn't matter today when fashion is much more a personal and individual expression.

One book you should try and find is the book The Mods , all the pictures are taken from that ere , it only shows young mods , you might get a better idea of exactly the cloths they wore not the fashion magazines idea

Thank you! Depends what you’d like to highlight and what not to. Mod style is quite bold so I’d put those big fun patterns and colours on the areas you like about yourself and the areas you don’t like so much in darker colours. Also try some statement 60’s style accessories! Hope this helps ☺️✌️

The British, influence 60s fashion a lot?

British people love to overhype their history, especially the 60s. The late Amanda Halley of the Ultimate Fashion History was like this, going out of her way to mention “those kooky Carnaby street kids”

Dad daughter he drove her to the school dance she says park around the corner so my amigos donot see her 20year old car they all have nicer newer ones so what it works well is kept in good condition all works well with it get real the same with clothes we wear ten years old dress no latest style it is new condition who cares I donot when I last worked lived outside world I did my best to work properly done right so what if I was a bit slow faster would not always work at times it caused me problems machines had to be cleaned serviced two hours once I wasted three hours then why these are mucho volks usually in a big hurry to get not realizing at times it slows you down is bad for us all I am no expert mistake free but have learned plenty wrong right over the years haste makes waste have a nice if you can
