I thought the exact same thing after the first pack no lie. I put it away deep in my closet for future upgrades not drivable out the box boring brushed.

Do try the 6000kv. I’ve been looking at that system for my sons truck but don’t know how it would work

I wish more TH-camrs that describe “needed” mods disclaimed that this is a scale monster truck. “Increasing performance” also detracts scale effects and turns it to a more traditional basher.
I’ve done nothing to my mini. It is as close to perfect out of the box for a scale monster jam style monster truck as any I’ve seen.

100% Agree, aftermarket batteries, alum steering linkage and threadlock everywhere.

hmm, the brushless makes it a lot more lively and dynamic but its kind of out of control for the monster truck tricks which will require much more throttle management on the sensitive side.
its kind of trying to make it more of a basher and speed on the expense of moonwalks and monster truck tricks. its a choice one can make and nice to see the truck takes it.

Really depends on how much room you have to run it. I like the power and speed of the 4500kv but the fwd/rev delay on this esc def takes away from the performance.

Nice mods to get it to handle better, I get the losing interest in it because of bad handling maybe your mods will get the other guys wrenching and cutting treads on their's.
Watching you trim the treads reminded me of trimming crawler canyon tires, do one and take a break lol.
    Cool video, Thumbs up👍💯👍💯👍

Back in the day (80s') some aluminum shocks were made that way. you hold them upside down. hold the (bottom) cap up and cycle it as you would with the top cap off. bit more of a pain but still not horrible. Thanks for the tips.

100% disagree. The speed is scale, it's the instant torque that's fun. Speed runs are interesting, but not enough to go brushless and start breaking things. Almost great, 7.8/10

Yep..I like mine stock because I can set up ramps n stuff in the living room n play monster jam while sitting on the couch on a crappy day.Bought it to play indoors anyway so going brushless would be too much for indoors imo.Either going to break the car or break something in the house in my case going brushless..same for the typhon grom…got it to play in the living room so leaving it brushed…I have a brushless HBX mini mt and it’s almost too fast for indoors..doable, but can’t use all the speed anyway

Does your brushless esc have forward/reverse running mode? Bought the 2in1 spektrum and was bummed it only had racing fwd/brake and fwd/brake/reverse modes. The instant reverse is nice for these monster trucks for the nose wheelies and stunts.

It does but there’s too much of a delay to make it useful.

Why not buy a basher ? I stpp watching after the tires cutong thing...

I have bashers. Cutting the tires was an attempt to make it handle better on carpet since this was an indoor truck for me.

Really interesting video again, dude! Now I got interested in getting one again, but still it'll be a small fortune to get it where I'd like it to be, so maybe not... Was also looking at buying parts individually, but also looks too expensive... I'll wait and see, maybe someday there will be a used one for me to grab, ha ha!
Great work getting yours to this level of performance, way better than in the last video!

I feel like there will be a bunch of used ones for sale in the next few months. It can def get pricey upgrading these.
