i disagree. i think he changed the vibe in the room when he did the awkward thing with the water and then the comments before he got started. if you're not familiar with normand's style, which they clearly aren't, it can be perceived as a lack of confidence. audiences aren't going to laugh if they think you're genuinely nervous.

I saw Mark perform in Dallas just 2 days after this video. He was hilarious! It was a much better crowd than the crowd in this video. It was really an amazing show.. He went for maybe an hour. My wife and I were in tears!

Comedy is absolutely fascinating. I know a lot of people are saying "tough crowd," but surely there are thousands of other factors at play here as well. We know these jokes are solid and have seen him kill with them in other videos. Why do they not work here? What really interests me is the overall *energy* of the room. What comics went up before, how did they do, what's the venue like, is it free, were there tickets, do they know Mark, how's the service, how's the weather, what day of the week is it, what time of day, how many people are there, how are they arranged, are there any large groups, what city are they in, what kind of drug use is going on, how's Mark feeling, what was he doing before he came in, how fresh is this material, etc. The list goes on and on. Mark is a hilarious professional, but sometimes the magic just isn't there for whatever reason.
Iv e been on a binge of his stand ups. He definitely recycles a bunch of his jokes. Almost feels like the same set over and over but in a different order. Either way. He’s still awesome. I’m waiting for him to come to a city near me so I can go.

I thought for like the first ten seconds that the chunky guy WAS Mark Normand and Mark just had a complete transformation of his looks compared to 2023. Great set.
Love seeing the journey Marks taken, heard lots of these of jokes now on other clips but his timing and delivery has gotten very fine tuned from their early stages.
