Yuna Kim's spirals are underrated imo. She was never the most flexible but she had great stability, speed and ice coverage and they always fit beautifully into her programs.
Thanks for Hostel Hyatt's comment. Yuna position is good. It's normally arabesque spiral position. Upper body raised up and free leg extended back. I know some fans prefer the hight of the free leg. But the most real charm of figure skating spiral is to gliding a long distance. Compare pictures is nonsense. Watch Yuna's background during her spiral! It seems as if spector and advertisement rinkside flying off because she has incredible speed. Yuna is also good at back spiral.
Really? Kwan and Cohen deserve it lol. Maybe Karen Chen and Asada too. Kim has astonishing skating skills, speed on the ice, huge jumps, and interpretation. She is not quite flexible though, and her extensions could have been better.
People are also praising super straight legs in spirals saying its better when its straight but its figuratively ugly to look at. Its impressive but not too beautiful to look on ice choreography. Spiral is not all about straightness of legs 😐😐

I miss spiral sequences and the times where holding a position for more than one microsecond was rewarded and not given high points for "transitions".
That's impressive. The most beautiful position in the world. She deserves the gold medal with that absolute beauty of the sequence lol.
Birds & Squirrel She's an exceptional skater but her spiral positions are nowehere near to be the best in the world. That title goes to Sasha Cohen.
