GROGEOUS. Hello from 16 years later! Back in that day, Michelle and Sasha were my two faves. I prefer artistry if I HAD to pick. Today Isabeau is my newest fave.
I love this spiral. I love DOING this one. Although Michelle does an inside to outside spiral. I do outside to inside. It's my favorite skating move! :)
Gosh I could watch this all day! There was one exhibition or pro-am event where she did a backwards COE spiral, which was pretty spectacular too. I can't seem to find it anywhere on TH-cam though :(.
personally, i think sasha cohen owns anything like this. you cant get away from michelle's amazing technicallity and her fantastic spins and jumps, but with regards to grace elements and artistry, sasha can't be beaten
I think both are great in their own way. Like Sasha's flexibility for them is unmatched really. While the type of speed and the sharpness of the COE of Kwan's is also unmatched. Kwan's spirals looks like she is flying. I like both for different reasons .
I just dont get what is so good about these spirals. Her raised leg is bent, not steady, not split. And its stuck out rather than up. Always thought them very unattractive.
Well then look at Katherine Healy and Sasha to see if Kwan’s spirals were that good or not. To me Kwan joins the rank of the most desirable spirals. You can also look at other earlier figure skaters to see how ‘attractive’ their spirals were before you go around bashing on Michelle Kwan.
Change of edge spiral is Michelle's signature move.
🥰🥰🥰
I also enjoy Michelle's Charlotte spiral, when her finger touched the ice just like a kiss 💋.

The most beautiful spiral that's ever graced the ice
Yup. M.Ks spirals electrified the crowd. Nobody does it better.
@waylonis COE stands for "change of edge." Michelle starts her spiral on one edge, then switches to the other edge.
Why don’t we see more of this?? Too much weight on jumps and not beauty like this today.
AMEN!
Incredible how she improved this move through the years

Beautiful. Powerful.

@AmberNicole024 Well, that move was known as her "signature" move. I totally wish that I had 1/2 of the spiral quality that she has!
yah! feeling of flying
美しい
@kwadruple well, she is michelle kwan, she's got one of the most famous faces in figure skating

Well. you should see Katherine Healy as I previously made in my comments. Knowing she’s from my generation.

she should stick to ballet or become a contortionist....competitive skating is for the mentally fit first
um....she's one of the most decorated skaters in history. clearly she was mentally fit enough.
Except for the lack of the Olympic gold medal...*sigh.* Michelle Kwan was one of my all time favorite female skaters.
