Just got done changing the master cylinder on my son's 2005 Focus. Video helped a lot. I did find if I took out the air cleaner box that sits in front of the battery I could get to the bleeder from the top easier than from the bottom.
Just goes to show what a little commonsense and a "normal" person does for a video! BY FAR THE BEST TUTORIAL ON THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER, GREAT JOB AND THX!
Just doing one of these myself and didn’t need to remove the bolt which goes through the centre of the master cylinder, I just removed the clip from the master cylinder and was able to remove it easily. I have also noticed that my clutch pedal has a lot of side to side movement so will be replacing the nylon bushing so that the link rod does not come off again and damage the new master cylinder. There is also a small clamp fitting available on eBay U.K. that fits on the end of shaft to prevent the plastic link coming off, You just put the fitting on the shaft and tighten up the grub screw. About the clips that hold the hoses, is it difficult to clip them in??? is it easier to let them on the master cylinder in open position before to connect the hoses or better to take them off and clip them later. thanks for the video very didactic.
Hey thanks for the clip! I am trying to find a workaround for my 2010 focus clutch master cylinder. Question: Was it absolutely necessary to remove the center bolt which holds the master cylinder to the firewall OR could I ONLY remove the 'u' clip on the inside? My center bolt rusted out... hardly anything to grip! I was able to loosen all the other bolts on the inside but the center bolt wouldn't give! I aborted the mission as I did not want to snap anything inside and end up with bigger probs... Your insight will be appreciated!
further to my earlier comment; after you removed the entire thing - did you conclude that there was no need to remove the center bolt which holds the cylinder to the firewall. I am trying to find a workaround for my rusted out bolt head... Thanks.
I hope this is all thats wrong with my car i was at a red light went to let the clutch out and it wouldn't do nothing and fluid started pouring in my floor

The brake lines push in and no need to remove the clips on new one just push and click

No you dont need to remove that bolt just the clip

I am having the issue with the leaking fluid when I push the clutch in but the clutch also becomes locked and unable to push in, is this the same fix?

Yes just pull the clip out and leave bolt in place.
Would have never found this, I was about to try bleeding it through the up stream line connecting through the fire wall.
