Oh. My. Gosh!!!!!! 😍 🧙♂️🧝♀️🌋Amazing!!! I love this arrangement so much!!! Way to go, Carrie!!! I’m definitely learning this piece with you guys next!!!
What a challenging piece this is with all the syncopation, and non repetitious nature of the arrangement. I have yet to see any other arrangement with more than just the main melody of the piece. I love it. Thank you!❤
You just made this look really really easy. And I am saying that as someone still learning the notes on his harp. I’ve only been taking lessons for a few months now. 🥺👉👈🥺
Hey we all have to start somewhere! There's a lot of practice that went into this 😃 I've been at the stage you are in, and there is so much to look forward to on this journey! Try to enjoy the process 🤗 --Carrie 💚
@@LearningtheHarp I’m getting closer to lesson number three in the book we are using. 🥺 which is going to be using all four fingers on both hands. And the last lesson a lot of it was about following the beats of the actual notes. It is a work in progress. But I think I’m getting better 🥺
I haven’t heard this themed piece to the film Carrie, but I rather like it, full of fun! it is nice to see snippets of this film whilst you were playing.
Unfortunately that won’t be possible - Carrie was borrowing the Ravenna (very kindly lent by Virginia Harp Center) and she returned it when she got the Ballad 😊💕 - Christy-Lyn xx
at 0:30 the actual song starts a fiddlo solo - what celtic song does it take inspiration from? heard it in the background of a documentary but can't place it.
Beautiful. I have a question, which may sound silly, but I’m going to ask it anyway. I have wanted to play the harp my whole life, and about a year ago decided that I am going to work towards owning and learning the harp, but right now even renting a harp is not in the budget, I am wondering if there are things I can do right now that can sort of help with technique or start to prepare me for when I am able to actually have a harp. I don’t know if there are like exercise I can do with my hands just to strengthen them or if it would be more about learning to read sheet music in a harpist sort of way. I did take piano and violin as a teenager so I can read sheet music decently.
Not a silly question at all! That's so exciting that you're working towards getting a harp! 💚We have a free TH-cam video series called "How to play the Harp: Start HERE" (th-cam.com/video/HDZySzpYw0g/w-d-xo.html) and it walks you through the basics of playing the harp. This would be a great series to watch even before you get your harp, that way once it arrives you'll be ready to go! And then we also run a program several times throughout the year called "Harp Beginnings" that helps you get started in learning your first songs. You can learn more about it here: www.learningtheharp.com/harp-beginnings/
Learn the Harp has so many beautiful arrangements. I don’t have enough time to learn them all. 💗
If only there were more hours in the day! 💚
Nice arrangement. I like the addition of movie clips. Love those movies.

Love this song! What level is this arrangement please?
This is the late-intermediate level 🤗 there are links to the sheet music and video course in the description of the video! 💚
