    Thanks for the stock radio explanation of what to look for. Most sites are in to amplified systems and upgrades beyond what alot of people intend to do. Could you do a video on something like changing the head unit and pairing it properly with speakers.

    This is an excellent video.
    Efficiency is key with a low-wattage amplifier and an efficient speaker will get surprisingly loud without needing a lot of power.
    Another good thing to look at is the DB rating of a particular speaker. Higher DB ratings in lower wattage speakers make a world of difference.

    Good video but you forgot about the sensitivity like they'll JBL don't cost too much in their 94db on their sensitivity they will play a lot louder with a low-powered unit...

      Depending on the sensitivity of your old speakers the DB rating if they're low and the jbl's are high the three own or four ohm won't make any difference cuz you don't have to turn the amplifier up as loud to get the same volume...

    Agree 💯, I want to keep my 13 Camry XLE head unit, I replaced the OEM speakers with Kenwood all the way around including a sub amp and the subwoofer, nothing wrong I just wanted a little more of “highs” I decided to go with JBL stadium 962M all the way around plus JBL 34F on dash …. Didn’t work 😔 it sounded like 💩 the problem wasn’t the speakers, it was the radio, not enough power to make them sound good, end of history ? Kenwood has the right speakers for this application and works perfectly with my head unit

      You got JBLs with too high of an RMS watt rating so they wont sound good with your typical factory head unit because of those speakers being under powered. Those would need an Amp to get the most out of the speaker. The stock oem factory stereo in my 2005 only puts out 15-20 watts RMS, so those would sound weak in my car as well running it off of the factory radio. I want to keep my factory stereo so I am planning on getting some JBLs that have a lower rms watt rating between 5-75 rms. The head unit should power those just fine for my liking.

    Great video just the info I been looking for, got a question I have an older model after market pioneer stereo it says 50x4, so I been trying to replace the stocks that are also 6x9. So watt rms should I be looking for 50 watt rms or 200 watt rms?

    • @petes137
      @petes137 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      50x4 means there's 50 watts rms going to each channel. Which are the front left/right rear left/right. So you'd want to look at speakers around the 50 rms unless you run a amplifier which then you can run higher rms speakers given that you have a big enough amplifier to power them correctly.

    • @javierrodriguez3896
      @javierrodriguez3896 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petes137 wrong. Aftermarket radios including pioneer state their wattage as max ratings. Rms would be around 20-25x4 more or less

    • @DjMartiniMidwest
      @DjMartiniMidwest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically the sound should be as loud or more if you buy a new amplifier for them . And run them from the factory stereo. Just make sure you match up rms watts from the new amp and the new speakers. Should work just fine. Thanks .

    my honda city are using stock touch screen head unit not sure how many RMS it gives (lets say around 40W), does it mean i can only run a pair of 45W speaker at front? or i can run 2 pair of 45W speaker at both front and rear at the same time?

      Yes , a 50 watt rms speaker with a 50 watt rms stereo would be great because these speakers have a 200 watt max peak. Just DO NOT do a 100 watt rms stereo with 50 watt rms speakers. Not good. The Key is to match rms wattage as close as possible. Thanks

    Can i change it with infinity reference 6530cx (90 watt 3ohm).
    Will the difference in ohm damage my stock head unit.
    Also do i need to change my wiring too.

    • @DjMartiniMidwest
      @DjMartiniMidwest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My thoughts… my opinion only . The infinity speaker’s are a component speakers which normally need the rms wattage as close as possible to sound there best. So 20 watts is just not enough for their best sound. They Would need a amplifier in my opinion.
      Technically they will work and will not damage your stock radio if wired correctly.
      Also , yes wiring would have to be changed to install the infinity speakers because it has the two speakers And a the crossover unit. All around would be more complicated install. Thanks .
