I was born with Moon/Neptune in 12th. Was abandoned by my mother twice, at 18mos and 12years. Taught astrology in prison, was an activist in the 60s and arrested many times. Ended up taking care of my mother at the end of her life. Conducted many healing meditation circles. My teacher, Ms. Isabel Hickey taught us that 12th house required “serve or suffer”. Wow! I had lost hope on 12th house explanatios already but then I watched this video. So spot on! I have Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars in 12th house Leo, and a jupiter in 9th house. I have always had existential questions ever since I was a kid and now I attend philosophy classes, which I advise to everyone with 12th house stellium. I also found that all type of spiritual work, meditation, journaling, shadow work, chanting help a lot so I try to do it everyday. I am 36 and I still play volleyball in a team (Probably Mars in Leo helps), I can speak 5 different languages (Turkish is my native language) and I had higher education. I am writing these because I want people to stop thinking that 12th house is a failure!! Also, in Steven Forrest's book "Inner Sky" he refers to 1st and 12th houses as "freedom houses" so any kind of acitivity that you feel brings you freedom belongs to your 12th house purpose. Mine is traveling. I feel refreshed and well educated when I travel and get to know people, cultures and lifestyles. It took me 36 years to reach balance in my inner life (Leo vanity does not help lol) but I understand now that the more healthier you are inside your head, it reflects back to the world tenfolds. I am happy, I love spreading positivity and happiness around me. Don't be scared of 12th house, just enjoy it knowing that everything turns out in your favor in the end - even if you cannot see it from today! Big hug!
Great! I have sun mercury and mars in Leo in the 12 th with the whole signs house. I think the 12 th is so special and I think it is the house of free will because is the “zero” house, before the first. The house where we have capacity to influence things before they become alive. It’s complex but this was my latest insights.

As a 12th house virgo, I associate with prison concept, 4 me, As an under 18 year old "child", I felt imprisoned by school. I resented the experience. I resented authority (over me). I felt liberated when i graduated. I left home immediately, No more school - no college! I began to learn after school years; excellerating my interest in intelligence thru every decade since.... I've enjoyed learning, 40+ years post k-12 schooling. Learning can be fun & applicable to my curiosity in life. I was successful in a medical profession, high earning & i quit when i was 42 To seek love. My choice was supported successfully. I stopped the pursuit of earning money. I eliminated economic thinking. And i cultivated trust. I eliminated fear. I am happy - content. Fulfilled. Estoy contenta! Love is my answer
In my view, at the end of every age, there is a sort of culmination and final integration from the age we are completing. I think at this time we are all re-clarifying the 2000 year old Judea Christian ideals that have been distorted in patriarchal thinking, and re-interpreting them from a more holistic and healing perspective.
For me, looking at the 12th as the house of hidden things, it makes sense that the sun rises to *hide* the stars that have been visible all night, hiding their insights. 😊🌠

This was so helpful!! I have 12th house moon in sag and 9th house sun in Virgo .. and planets in between. 12th house energy is hard for me to put into words but Ari spoke of it wonderfully. The need and desire to be alone is big for me and the yearning to be of service/impact the world on a healing/spiritual level and the capacity to see feel and deeply love all the messy parts of others and the world. My main keywords are: hermit, quantum mind, no limit or restrictions, analytical thinking to understand spiritual realms, courage to think out of the box, new realizations, very deep that people don't understand, obsessive on one thing when it gets attention (idea, person, object whatsoever).
Thank heaven or the void that I have Moon's N Node in 12th, along with Recovery from alcoholism! Through a series of disillusionments, I gulp and sigh, well, the universe is complete and richly rewarding never boring. Temporary conclusion -- our species isn't that "superior", and needs to hit bottom so that sentient beings can carry on in nature without our interference. I’ve watched a lot of 12th house videos and learned a lot in each but this one gave me a really new understanding of astrology and myself. I recognize the turning over of myself to ideas, people, even diets (12th house Virgo 7 years vegan 😂) and it has been a struggle but I know that the surrender must be to spirit, not to others. Nobody has autonomy in the 12th , so it’s about the polarity of the 6th where we must do the work consciously where the 12th is subconscious. We do nothing in the 12th it’s a reaping/karma house this life & prior lives passed down through generations. I have my sun moon Pluto placed in 12th
I have found that planets we have in the 12 house are very karmic.... negative karmic forces related to the particular planet one has placed there has to be reworked in one sense. !2th house has been called the house of suffering or service. One must learn to surrender and sacrifice some ego attachment for the full 12 house relief to slowly be reborn. The slow awakening that one has learned though difficult suffering ( attachments from running away or holding to much of some ego form or dissolution's) then those becomes the raw compost to help others.

Because Pisces is the final sign and all signs in one and natural home is 12th..it would seem logical that so much is there, saturated tapestry and more difficult to sort through than the others.Then..add divinity, the unseen and we can see why 12th house souls often appear floating or escaping..😂🌠🌠

Thank you for this great talk. I would like to suggest an explantion for the 12th house place - when you look at the sky it is the place where darkness rises in the evening and the light rises at dawn ( with no human control on when it happens or abilty to stop it or make it happen). I am gessing for the ainchent ones this was a miricle and something they had no control over and so - they assosiated this area with things that were bigger then them and godly like.
this has much to do with a person personal reality which many to most of us should know is polluted with outside things going on kind of programing us I dont agree with the we cant suffer and help those that are suffering. to me I have done this in my younger years because by helping others I pulled myself out of my own suffering for a while and then also because of helping this other person we both figured out why we were suffering. sometimes in life we cannot see the forest through the trees but when we are walking with others we notice amongst those trees we realize that we are actually in the forest , we are seeing from another's perspective . At least this is what I discovered long ago ;).

Why does the sun go clockwise on the house system go anti clockwise. My theory is is that the house systems starting from first house areas is an internal expression of our life as we move around the clock everything becomes more and more of an external experience. Then we have to think about the sun the sun is an external energy it's an external experience it's part of our external. They're my theory is to me it makes sense for it to go around the clock, in an external manner because if it started at the first house that expresses our internal being that just wouldn't make sense because the sun can't rise in the underworld on The darkness the sun has to rise where it is seen.
Wow I have a very active 6-12 house axis, with Sun in the 6th and Saturn in the 12th. Service and exhaustion are a big part of my life. My saturn in in cancer in the 12th house, so I can say that I've definitely felt imprisoned and enslaved by my family in some sense, and that has extended to my feeling about life as a whole lately, and I'm grappling with that. This was spot on!

@@mtully4624 I can only speak from my own experience, as I"m currently a caretaker for a parent. Maybe you did everything right and had a great relationship with the parent. Part of grieving is simply the trauma of the loss and seeing them go through pain and suffering. Maybe you felt you couldn't carry the burden the ceaseless joy and patience. Maybe you had passing thoughts of frustration or annoyance. Maybe you felt stressed trying balance jobs/economics and spending time with the parent, and you wished for a moment the burden would be gone. Maybe you didn't have a great relationship with them, and your time taking care of them was compromised by resentment, or even rage and hatred. Maybe no matter what you did, you couldn't alleviate their pain and suffering, and so you felt inadequate and powerless and that translates to guilt. Saturn is about responsibility but also about guilt and doubt. So if you feel someone is your responsibility, you might become a harsh taskmaster to yourself, and be too critical. Saturn in cancer can also impede emotional processing, so you get stuck in grief. The only thing that has worked for me is grieving. Grieving the trauma of the loss and the experience, including the ways you wish you could have done better, been more perfect and understanding, and even all that stress, pain. confusion you carried in a situation that was simply a tough situation.

34:55 Amanda - I actually have the answer and also WHY the 8th is associated with “seduction” (and no it’s not because of Scorpio). This is why: When the Sun rises everything ELSE Venus, Mercury etc anything else that’s also in the sky disappears with that momentary brightness. 11th house is the most productive time of the day. 10th/9th is where the sun is at it’s zenith. 8th is when the cows are coming back home, happy hour, supper, winding down. 7th is the actual Sunset.
Forgiveness, that's it! In the rainforest in Southern Mexico I had in a very profound love-encounter the experience that something seemed to explode in the centre of my physical body and made energy moving towards the 5 ends of my body and beyond. It gave me simultaneously insight to the origin of all problems in our human world - in short: missing love or incapacity to love - and I felt like forgiveness went through all my cells, what made me cry an "ocean of tears" - in a way of relief. This had been taken place about 15 months after I had developed at the Mexican Caribbean the healing treatment "Bio-Cosmo-Energy". My Saturn and Neptun are just 1 degree apart in the 12th house.

I have wondered about why the zodiac wheel does not turn clockwise like the path of the sun too. My guess is that has to do with the origin of the zodiac signs - each sign represents a part of the sky. The wheel corresponds to the signs in the sky and turns in the same direction was the signs travel. The house system was invented later. The order of the houses may have something to do with the signs. Just a thought.

There is still a sign or signs occupying the 12th house which will have a planetary ruler somewhere in the chart forming aspects to other planets etc. This in total reveals the dynamics of a persons 12th house. It's active and alive even if there are no planets occupying it.

I have Neptune in Sag in my 12th I have some psychic ability. I can pick up exactly what my sis is doing 15 hours away often All I get is one symbol at a time usually bit extremely accurate & no way it’s delusion or coincidence Example we were messaging a few days ago. It was midnight - not a normal time to take a bath lol. I felt water running. I asked her if she was running bath water & yep - she sent a pic. She was sitting in bathroom while messaging me running water. I have learned from this placement that we are truly all connected by some akashic web. Wow this was amazing! I have Virgo in the 12th house with my North Node and Pluto both at 7 degrees and Venus in Pisces 5th house at 5 degrees. I can see how this part of my chart changed my life. I was very committed to the Judeo-Christian life and in several leadership positions. At 38 yrs old I left it all, I was depressed and couldn't find truth in what I was taught to believe. Now I explore various religions but love tarot, astrology and all the woo woo stuff. I guess it all was meant to be because I've never been happier in my spiritual journey.

Whole signs are based on an entirely different philosophy. It's apt for the mere worldly realm where your personality and identity resides. If you include the 3 transpersonal planets as signifiers of your soul's evolution we literally look beyond the worldly realm of your ego, and that is where quadrant house systems might be more suitable. Most evolutionary astrologers use porphyry houses, some Koch.
It seems like this video was made for me. With the work I am doing, Jungian psychology and expanding the 8-function model of John Beebee to four sides of the mind- conscious ego, subconscious defender, unconscious ID (also known as the Shadow or inner child), and subconscious super-ego - with the two subconscious sides being protectors and kind of like cooling systems for the ego and ID, I recently had a revelation that it's the super-ego that holds our ability to forgive and also our concepts of shame and guilt. After watching this video it appears apparent to me that the 12th house is directly linked to the super-ego. Astrology is amazing. I feel that Taoism and the 12th house/Pisces are directly correlated. I have 12th house moon + pluto and Taoism is the philosophy I've always most aligned with.
Hi Victoria, Taoism is very influential in my practice, including Qi Gong and the I Ching. My teacher Jeffrey Wolf Green once associated the Pisces archetype with wu wei. I think he spoke about it in the Pluto in the 12th house section of his Pluto book.

I was born with Moon/Neptune in 12th. Was abandoned by my mother twice, at 18mos and 12years. Taught astrology in prison, was an activist in the 60s and arrested many times. Ended up taking care of my mother at the end of her life. Conducted many healing meditation circles. My teacher, Ms. Isabel Hickey taught us that 12th house required “serve or suffer”. Wow! I had lost hope on 12th house explanatios already but then I watched this video. So spot on! I have Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars in 12th house Leo, and a jupiter in 9th house. I have always had existential questions ever since I was a kid and now I attend philosophy classes, which I advise to everyone with 12th house stellium. I also found that all type of spiritual work, meditation, journaling, shadow work, chanting help a lot so I try to do it everyday. I am 36 and I still play volleyball in a team (Probably Mars in Leo helps), I can speak 5 different languages (Turkish is my native language) and I had higher education. I am writing these because I want people to stop thinking that 12th house is a failure!! Also, in Steven Forrest's book "Inner Sky" he refers to 1st and 12th houses as "freedom houses" so any kind of acitivity that you feel brings you freedom belongs to your 12th house purpose. Mine is traveling. I feel refreshed and well educated when I travel and get to know people, cultures and lifestyles. It took me 36 years to reach balance in my inner life (Leo vanity does not help lol) but I understand now that the more healthier you are inside your head, it reflects back to the world tenfolds. I am happy, I love spreading positivity and happiness around me. Don't be scared of 12th house, just enjoy it knowing that everything turns out in your favor in the end - even if you cannot see it from today! Big hug!
Great! I have sun mercury and mars in Leo in the 12 th with the whole signs house. I think the 12 th is so special and I think it is the house of free will because is the “zero” house, before the first. The house where we have capacity to influence things before they become alive. It’s complex but this was my latest insights.

So, is it fair to say that as we wrap up the Age of Pisces that we are having a collective 12th house experience?
In my view, at the end of every age, there is a sort of culmination and final integration from the age we are completing. I think at this time we are all re-clarifying the 2000 year old Judea Christian ideals that have been distorted in patriarchal thinking, and re-interpreting them from a more holistic and healing perspective.

Virgo Stellium in the 12th. I was conceived in a mental asylum. Given up for adoption and funny enough, bred to be a Catholic. I am the family heretic. As cliché as it may be, having a Virgo stellium, I am a nurse and have spent close to 20yrs caring for others and not myself. Everything you’ve said resonates with me 100%.

This was so helpful!! I have 12th house moon in sag and 9th house sun in Virgo .. and planets in between. 12th house energy is hard for me to put into words but Ari spoke of it wonderfully. The need and desire to be alone is big for me and the yearning to be of service/impact the world on a healing/spiritual level and the capacity to see feel and deeply love all the messy parts of others and the world. I am a Cancer and have the sun in the 12th. My main keywords are: hermit, quantum mind, no limit or restrictions, analytical thinking to understand spiritual realms, courage to think out of the box, new realizations, very deep that people don't understand, obsessive on one thing when it gets attention (idea, person, object whatsoever).
Thank heaven or the void that I have Moon's N Node in 12th, along with Recovery from alcoholism! Through a series of disillusionments, I gulp and sigh, well, the universe is complete and richly rewarding never boring. I have found that planets we have in the 12 house are very karmic.... negative karmic forces related to the particular planet one has placed there has to be reworked in one sense. !2th house has been called the house of suffering or service. One must learn to surrender and sacrifice some ego attachment for the full 12 house relief to slowly be reborn. The slow awakening that one has learned though difficult suffering ( attachments from running away or holding to much of some ego form or dissolution's) then those becomes the raw compost to help others.

I would like to suggest an explantion for the 12th house place - when you look at the sky it is the place where darkness rises in the evening and the light rises at dawn ( with no human control on when it happens or abilty to stop it or make it happen). I am gessing for the ainchent ones this was a miricle and something they had no control over and so - they assosiated this area with things that were bigger then them and godly like.
this has much to do with a person personal reality which many to most of us should know is polluted with outside things going on kind of programing us
I dont agree with the we cant suffer and help those that are suffering.
to me I have done this in my younger years because by helping others I pulled myself out of my own suffering for a while and then also because of helping this other person we both figured out why we were suffering.
sometimes in life we cannot see the forest through the trees but when we are walking with others we notice amongst those trees we realize that we are actually in the forest , we are seeing from another's perspective .

Why does the sun go clockwise on the house system go anti clockwise. My theory is is that the house systems starting from first house areas is an internal expression of our life as we move around the clock everything becomes more and more of an external experience. Then we have to think about the sun the sun is an external energy it's an external experience it's part of our external. They're my theory is to me it makes sense for it to go around the clock, in an external manner because if it started at the first house that expresses our internal being that just wouldn't make sense because the sun can't rise in the underworld on The darkness the sun has to rise where it is seen.

Wow I have a very active 6-12 house axis, with Sun in the 6th and Saturn in the 12th. Service and exhaustion are a big part of my life. My saturn in in cancer in the 12th house, so I can say that I've definitely felt imprisoned and enslaved by my family in some sense, and that has extended to my feeling about life as a whole lately, and I'm grappling with that. This was spot on!

@@mtully4624 I can only speak from my own experience, as I"m currently a caretaker for a parent. Maybe you did everything right and had a great relationship with the parent. Part of grieving is simply the trauma of the loss and seeing them go through pain and suffering.
Maybe you felt you couldn't carry the burden the ceaseless joy and patience. Maybe you had passing thoughts of frustration or annoyance. Maybe you felt stressed trying balance jobs/economics and spending time with the parent, and you wished for a moment the burden would be gone.
Maybe you didn't have a great relationship with them, and your time taking care of them was compromised by resentment, or even rage and hatred.
Maybe no matter what you did, you couldn't alleviate their pain and suffering, and so you felt inadequate and powerless and that translates to guilt.
Saturn is about responsibility but also about guilt and doubt. So if you feel someone is your responsibility, you might become a harsh taskmaster to yourself, and be too critical. Saturn in cancer can also impede emotional processing, so you get stuck in grief.
The only thing that has worked for me is grieving. Grieving the trauma of the loss and the experience, including the ways you wish you could have done better, been more perfect and understanding, and even all that stress, pain. confusion you carried in a situation that was simply a tough situation.

34:55 Amanda - I actually have the answer and also WHY the 8th is associated with “seduction” (and no it’s not because of Scorpio). This is why: When the Sun rises everything ELSE Venus, Mercury etc anything else that’s also in the sky disappears with that momentary brightness.
11th house is the most productive time of the day. 10th/9th is where the sun is at it’s zenith. 8th is when the cows are coming back home, happy hour, supper, winding down. 7th is the actual Sunset.

In the rainforest in Southern Mexico I had in a very profound love-encounter the experience that something seemed to explode in the centre of my physical body and made energy moving towards the 5 ends of my body and beyond. It gave me simultaneously insight to the origin of all problems in our human world - in short: missing love or incapacity to love - and I felt like forgiveness went through all my cells, what made me cry an "ocean of tears" - in a way of relief.
This had been taken place about 15 months after I had developed at the Mexican Caribbean the healing treatment "Bio-Cosmo-Energy".
My Saturn and Neptun are just 1 degree apart in the 12th house.
The journey of the sun starts at the twelve house at dawn, the sun journey goes backward maybe because that forms a helix and energy flow is controlled? Just a thought🌞
I have wondered about why the zodiac wheel does not turn clockwise like the path of the sun too. My guess is that has to do with the origin of the zodiac signs - each sign represents a part of the sky. The wheel corresponds to the signs in the sky and turns in the same direction was the signs travel. The house system was invented later. The order of the houses may have something to do with the signs. Just a thought.

There is still a sign or signs occupying the 12th house which will have a planetary ruler somewhere in the chart forming aspects to other planets etc. This in total reveals the dynamics of a persons 12th house. It's active and alive even if there are no planets occupying it.

I have Neptune in Sag in my 12th I have some psychic ability. I can pick up exactly what my sis is doing 15 hours away often All I get is one symbol at a time usually bit extremely accurate & no way it’s delusion or coincidence Example we were messaging a few days ago. It was midnight - not a normal time to take a bath lol. I felt water running. I asked her if she was running bath water & yep - she sent a pic. She was sitting in bathroom while messaging me running water. I have learned from this placement that we are truly all connected by some akashic web. Also I follow the moon sign closely & I SWEAR that the things (art, music, reels, memes all of it lol) people that I follow on social media alwayssss coordinates with the sun & moon. Wow this was amazing! I have Virgo in the 12th house with my North Node and Pluto both at 7 degrees and Venus in Pisces 5th house at 5 degrees. I can see how this part of my chart changed my life. I was very committed to the Judeo-Christian life and in several leadership positions. At 38 yrs old I left it all, I was depressed and couldn't find truth in what I was taught to believe. Now I explore various religions but love tarot, astrology and all the woo woo stuff. I guess it all was meant to be because I've never been happier in my spiritual journey.
HI Mary, I see this frequently, that the 12th/6th and Virgo/Pisces speaks so strongly to Judeo Christian imprinting. It's such a big part of those archetypes.

Wonderful stuff! As a Piscean, I explain myself, as the feeling of having one foot on earth, the other in heaven, or rather the material or the spiritual. Yes, I so understand and feel that Judeo-Christian part. (Others have said how difficult life is for the 12th house and the Pisceans. Yes, I have always felt earthly matters were so strange to me. Money has little to do with my existence on this earth plane. I am a counselor, and this work is very natural to me. Ari surely is the first one I have heard able to get into the deepness and understanding of this energy. It IS hard for Anyone to get and to understand.

Another great lesson from Astrology Hub! According to whole sign I have Moon and Mars in my first house. Aries ascendant. But in Placidus they’re both in my 12th house. Please explain. Surely, very different meanings. Thank you!
My Venus moves but my Sun stays in the 12th.
Whole signs are based on an entirely different philosophy. It's apt for the mere worldly realm where your personality and identity resides.
If you include the 3 transpersonal planets as signifiers of your soul's evolution we literally look beyond the worldly realm of your ego, and that is where quadrant house systems might be more suitable.
Most evolutionary astrologers use porphyry houses, some Koch.

With the work I am doing, Jungian psychology and expanding the 8-function model of John Beebee to four sides of the mind- conscious ego, subconscious defender, unconscious ID (also known as the Shadow or inner child), and subconscious super-ego - with the two subconscious sides being protectors and kind of like cooling systems for the ego and ID, I recently had a revelation that it's the super-ego that holds our ability to forgive and also our concepts of shame and guilt.
After watching this video it appears apparent to me that the 12th house is directly linked to the super-ego.

Is he Taoist? I started about 2 years ago and what he’s saying aligns sooo much like wu wei!!!! This 12th house explanation (coming from a Pisces) is great. My sun is in the 6h, Libra rising. I truly take care of myself first. Then I counsel. (I’m a dietitian counselor). I’ve been told I don’t act like a typical Pisces 😊
I feel that Taoism and the 12th house/Pisces are directly correlated. I have 12th house moon + pluto and Taoism is the philosophy I've always most aligned with.
Hi Victoria, Taoism is very influential in my practice, including Qi Gong and the I Ching. My teacher Jeffrey Wolf Green once associated the Pisces archetype with wu wei. I think he spoke about it in the Pluto in the 12th house section of his Pluto book.
