He makes the best faces I’ve seen while playing. I recall watching this when it first came out in what I thought was 06 or 07. I found it hilarious. Glad I finally found it thanks to another video I stumbled upon with him.
I have to say though, he plays a lot better in concert than he does here. I can't say I've ever seen or noticed him missing or forgetting parts live. I'm quite impressed with most of what he did at Wacken 2007, for instance. I guess he's just really relaxed and doesn't care too much here, whereas on stage perhaps he's 'in the zone', I don't know.
behind that demonic black metal/corpse paint image he's a very cool and nice guy. That why he's one of the best because even though he got to the top he never lost his teenage character. Awesome guy, great band!!! HAIL!!!
Immortal are enjoyed by pretty much every black metal fan in my experience, and I know quite few people very deep into it. I don't see people who aren't into black metal "getting" them at that point any more than the other first wave bands. Immortal's great.
He has a bold manly accent he's not afraid to flaunt to his audience. Not a whiny, stale, drab accent like Americans. Its not that hard to understand at all, I don't know why people are complaining. Americans have trouble with every accent that's probably why we lack strong accents of our own and most dialects have been de-creolized to death. We tend to enunciate every word like we're speaking to a hearing impaired audience or like when they're introducing new words to children on Sesame Street.
For originally a Bassist player, I give this guy credit to be able to grow from Bass to Guitar and come up with the shit he does and play the shit that he did not write and do it well. Abbath is great.
i believe that all of those lessons r some lessons for those who criticize Abbath for his band and say that he is not talented. Abbath is great for what he is playing.
@Spjungen i also like complex riffs but the point is that most easy riffs sound better than hard riffs, ac/dc is a good example or six feet under and many more =) thats my opinion =P
He's got the best Black Metal voice ever, very dark and low tone in his voice, and his own special guitar playing style that beats anything out there, most others just copycat styles from other bands, don't know if they do it on purpose or not, but anyhow, listen to pt.7, best metal riff in history!!!!!! :B I wanna be just like him! Rock on Olve!!! :d
Well, being a musician I actually know that, believe it or not. But it's possible to create good music without having a theoretical knowledge of scales (you'll of course use some without knowing it), while knowing scales only doesn't make you a good musician at all. And Black Metal is one of the music styles where feeling matters much more than theoretical knowledge or technical ability.
Are we not sure that this is actually Jack Black impersonating Abbath parodying Malmsteen? He's fuckin' hilarious!
"Aaaaahhhhgggg, Venom, Fuck it!"
Words I will forever live by.
2:48 hahahahahahahah
true lol
2:48 So , but so Funny...HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA🥴🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💥💥💥💥!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got to love the modesty he has. Truly we have much to learn from this man.
If Sylvester Stallone was norwiegian and a black metal musician
This guy is probably the most laid back and humorous metal musician out there. Abbath and Immortal in general are the best.
"Ah fuck it, you know, haaa, Venom, fuck it..."
Now it all makes sense.
Abbath for president!!
He makes the best faces I’ve seen while playing. I recall watching this when it first came out in what I thought was 06 or 07. I found it hilarious. Glad I finally found it thanks to another video I stumbled upon with him.
This guitar lesson taught me how to make a solo play a solo forget about it
This is a true musician who writes by ear rather than learning from others, Immortal rules.
This guy is hysterical. Love the enthusiasm.
Those videos and clown faces are the reasons why he's so awesome. He don't take it too seriously, he's having fun.
Classic. Abbath, definitely a character. I put him up there with Cronos.
Thanks for uploading, had been looking for these for quite a while...
Amazing guitar player!
There goes the man who rules... Playing around. And still being awesome.
I have even more respect for him after watching these lessons. Awesome.
This is not a lesson at all, but it is amusing.
I have to say though, he plays a lot better in concert than he does here. I can't say I've ever seen or noticed him missing or forgetting parts live. "Even live it's just like..Ah, FUCK IT!"
Abbath is God. Amazing player, and a great person. Hilarious.

Keep up the good work, love your new album.
I just love how sarcastic he sounds when he talks normally.

behind that demonic black metal/corpse paint image he's a very cool and nice guy. That why he's one of the best because even though he got to the top he never lost his teenage character.
Awesome guy, great band!!!
HAIL!!!
..very great guitarist and black metal legend! IMMORTAL!!!
What is his setup in this? Looks like an LTD guitar ... what's up with the amp, etc? I MUST KNOW. Thank you
The greatest man alive
lol, han är en rolig snubbe. Lite Yngwie-vibe över honom, hehe
Vinnie och Ace, två favoriter, for sure!
Immortal are enjoyed by pretty much every black metal fan in my experience, and I know quite few people very deep into it. I don't see people who aren't into black metal "getting" them at that point any more than the other first wave bands. Immortal's great.
The best black metal band in my opinion with Mayhem of course!!
Abbath! My Friend. You are the best
this shit is priceless. i love abbath. especially because he doesn't take him self seriously
Immortal rules!!!, have been around for so long and still make great music, Abbath kicks ass on the guitar.
Best lesson ever
This lesson helped me a lot! Thanks for posting!

@wunnamurra are you a musician? do you know anything about "musician's playing faces"?
I love it, he is just saying: dudes I am happy you like my music, but I don't really know what I am doing, I just fucking go for it.
totally brilliant
can u tell me the title of the opening song? thanks
For originally a Bassist player, I give this guy credit to be able to grow from Bass to Guitar and come up with the shit he does and play the shit that he did not write and do it well. Abbath is great.
@SpaceRitual he was trying to say vinnie vincent right??
what is the name of the intro song to this video?
godda love those facial expressions he keeps doing when he is bending the notes or doing (at least trying to do) a pinch harmonic
Wow, what a great guitar lesson. I learned so much.

Agree. Where is the lesson?
What does he say at 0:38 to 0:41
"wow he's the ultimate ____" ?
thx
Yes, that is indeed one of the best things about the whole series.
Which song at intro?
The way he talks is fucking awesome too. Abbath is the man.
Now I can play it all! Thanks Abbath!
what effect he used mostly hah?
My thoughts exactly. Abbath is awesome.

@broomboner Why?
whats the opening song?
Abbath is awesome :P Awesome guitarist, awesome vocalist and awesome comedian :D
Nah man, Venom was known for not really knowing what they were doing but just having a ton of energy.
How does Zack Wylde do it? Short scale guitars and EMG pickups thats how
What's the song in the intro?
Fuck it aaaaah, Venom, fuck it! Priceless.
I like how laidback and unpretentious he seems
whats the guitar hes using ?
that guitar sounds beautiful
@themagpievendor Why?
what guitar he's using?
i believe that all of those lessons r some lessons for those who criticize Abbath for his band and say that he is not talented. Abbath is great for what he is playing.
@blackheart103 he writes the songs. It's the lyrics that have been always written by Demonaz
their new album will probably be named after that 23rd word....once again nice one still cant get over it
"Ah, fuck it, VENOM!"
HAHAHAHAHA
Abbath is my hero.
After watching this I can no longer say or even think 'fuck it'. Everytime I try I end up saying or thinking 'Venom, fuck it'.
@AbbathTM hes the lead guitarist from immortal
i love his tapping. that shit is beast.
abbath is my hero, a walking demigod on this earth
How can anyone not like Abbath? He is the coolest guy in black metal, and metal in general.
I don't know how many times people said it but ... the guy doesn't know how to make an artificial harmonic ... incredible !
what the hell does he say before he taps after he mentions his influences lol 1:59-2:00
@MrUsedBooks You're using present tense. I would agree if you were using past tense, but in 2011? No.
look at the raw emotion he puts into those pick squeels :P
@Ailasor Oh yes it is, sorry @andreasemeraro84 It's Tyrants by Immortal
@Spjungen i also like complex riffs but the point is that most easy riffs sound better than hard riffs, ac/dc is a good example or six feet under and many more =) thats my opinion =P

I want an infite loop of 1:24 to 1:26
Do you like risk and cryptic writings?
this guy owns malmsteen in every level....playing.,.and personality...LMAo
wow i really can play guitar now. this helped so much.
that was such a helpful lesson
@xJustynLx Oh yeah? I thought Demonaz did the guitar riffs okay. That's even better I guess.
Do I hear a lisp?
What a great lesson!
@metallicatriviumPwN not exactly, i'd actually consider hanging out with him
Well, being a musician I actually know that, believe it or not. I love the faces he makes xD
@Eddacus313 When he says that he reminds me of a bergamasque!
I was actually expecting (and hoping) him to say, "Thank ya, thank ya verry muuuch!".
you got a love Abbath!
@InfernumThe im pretty sure its tyrants... not one by one
