Actually, chrome bumpers would probably cost just as much, if not more, since they're attached directly to the frame and offer little in terms of impact absorption.
@@nikolanikola8543 BS!...Chrome steel bumpers can simply be left alone with a little dent or hammered back into a reasonable position. A little dent on a Chrome bumper translates to completely shattering and needing to replace the plastic bumper cover ones. If you have to replace the whole bumper sure I suppose that might be more expensive. But for minor dents and things they hold up much longer and won't need to be replaced. Our family owned an 85 Caprice Classic for years. Rear ended in that thing at least twice...one front impact and slammed by a car in the side too. The thing still drove down the road without an issue and the front and rear bumpers still in relatively good working order but with some dents. Impacts that on a modern car would have shattered the entire front and rear end and cost a fortune. The car that hit the side of the Caprice..this little Mazda was completely totalled. Caprice was fine...just a dented in door.
@@StyxYRenegade There is still a steel bumper behind the plastic bumper cover! I'd rather just have the steel bumper exposed and chrome..forget the plastic in the first place! The plastic does nothing for protection. It's just a cover.

Dang it, the wife is taking the car out again...
XD
One would think such a test would reveal how cheap it might be considering the low damage, but it can prove very costly.
que es para ver como trapello perros o que pasa???
Please bring back the chrome bumpers and save us thousands on overpriced plastic vehicle repair costs!
Chrome costs more to repair than plastic! 😂😂😂
Chrome bumpers are less safe than plastic ones.
