Man people are always talking about how they were falling apart and hated each other all along and stuff...but watching this, Grant and Bob singing on each other's songs and Greg jumping around even on drugs-gone-bad songs...there's some passion here
Oh, man. Fat-Bob era Huskers. This is a great vid. Interesting mix with the bass direct to the tape. Greg--what a hoot! Reviewers always made him look funny using the words "scissors kick." Har. Grant--I saw them at the Pine Street Theater in Portland during this era. Bob kept his stomp boxes in a little paisley zippered suitcase. Viva Huskers!
Pink Turns To Blue, Could You Be The One, Makes No Sense At All, Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely, Sorry Somehow, Never Talking To You Again, Diane. For some reason these songs we're all left off the album.
It seems like the market exists for a DVD release of live Huskers stuff, if somebody could put one together. The 'Mats, too. Thanks for posting. This is fantastic.
Thanks for posting this, it's been a long time since I saw this on my old VHS tape in the late 20th Century... My favorite moment of their cover of Eight Miles High in this version is when Bob gives his trademark growl at 9:23, then goes into a intense state that looks cathartic in utter state of grace and then proceeds to finish the song by throttling his guitar and it's so disturbing that I guess they just had to pull the camera away!!!
greg's low (well, only) e string is definitely a bit out of tune but it actually is on a lot of their live stuff. the live feed is a little bit lame though, makes it much more noticeable.
Well Greg and Grant share a lawyer so together they hold the lions share of the "Husker Du Estate." Bob is in a better financial position to do somthing about reissues though, i think this is where the dispute lyes, plus i heard bob wants to remix some of the albums where as the other two don't, personally i would be happy to see remixes and the original masters released.
These guys were The Beatles of punk, you coulda given Mould a fuckin Tuba and he would have gotten a good punk song out of it! Some of the best song writers of all time. fuck how their instruments were tuned, least of my concern. Their essence speaks for itself!
I remember 1983-1985 in so cal........everyone was in a band and Husker Du were kind of the give hope to the dorky guys they can have a band too.......the pseudo punks who weren't "tough" to be real punks but wanted be something and they embraced bands like HD
So like.... my generation's Nirvana, which, btw, are my age. Well, the 2 living ones, I mean. Nailed it. They gave guys like the guys in Nirvana h-o-p-e. Good on them.
There will be a DVD in the Mats rarities box set being released later this year, as for Husker Du nothing will happen until the band members can agree on how to reissue the albums, Makes No Sense (live at camden palace) is available in Australia on DVD and also now widley available in the uk but it's not their best performance and the sound is pretty awful, there is much better footage out there (plenty of it on youtube.)
i hope they reconcile and do that cause they aint getting any younger. bob said grants lawyer holds the estate for the du so maybe its on him, so sad nothing happens.
There's no sound more powerful than Bob screaming thru Eight Miles High!
One of the most underrated great bands from the 80's...They should've been just as popular as REM...

what would the music world be without this band? Nothing.
Unbelievable memories captured professionally. A tremendous find and gift to the world.

There is a cd called the "Living End" It was recorded on their last tour. The only problem with it is that none of their big songs are on it.
the bass does sound a bit tinny lol
HUSKER DU and REM got me through high school without going ape shit
"A tray of crystal glasses breaking in a church."
All 3 members are alive.
Good lordy be! Grant looks very healthy, too. Remember teeth?
Grass and acid for a trip to the tour.
i guess the camden palace shot is the best one out there? I got the

i hope they reconcile and do that cause they aint getting any younger. bob said grants lawyer holds the estate for the du so maybe its on him, so sad nothing happens.

this is a soundboard recording, thats why its fcked up, i agree ......dont you have ears?
Probably the most expensive record you ever bought, huh? ;)
Its unfortunate that it had to be mixed so high and out of tune
Lawwd have mercy the bass is so frickin' out of tune.
Grant looks a little beat up in this. The heroin starting to take its toll?
