It’s not compulsory but if you fall sick and need a helicopter to rescue you, you’ll have to pay a huge amount of money! It’s quite common to fall sick on the trek
There are no stairs. The path changes almost every day. The first couple of days are quite steep, rough trail with small rocks here and there. The next couple of days are good with very wide paths. You’ll also cross wide flat grounds. The last couple of days are just big boulders. Only boulders covering the entire trail.
Great video! I go to Nepal each year, but just launched my channel and this is the first year I will be documenting everything. I have published my first few Everest videos on the channel but "hope" to upload 40-50 more Everest "how to" videos in the next year. LOVE what you have done here! Great job!
People should be informed about a more interesting High Scenic Trail which goes via Mong La - Phortse (overnight) - Pangpoche instead of just going through Tengpoche twice. Guides and agencies are too lazy and unimaginative to take customers up that way, but those who take it just love it. Several big international agencies have started using the High Scenic Trail on the way up already.
Hello nice video, however i regret to note that there are different types of rates depending where you come from , indian rates and then foreigners rates.. So foreigners need to be milked just because they come from elsewhere, i dont seem to get the good thinking behind that ?
I had a knee injury too but there’s no injury you cannot recover from. My knee has gotten super strong in the last 3-4 months. I took a rehab program from a physiotherapist in London. He gave me an exercise routine. I could not even do 4-5 body weight squats. I had pain in climbing stairs too but within 6-7 weeks now I’m able to do heavy weights squats and serious weight training. I am about to start running soon. You can reach him on instagram.com/theaclrehabguy It’s an expensive course but better than surgery

Train your legs, pack less, enjoy the adventure, do not go for guided trek. Cost depends on your travel style and luxury It can range from 500 rs -5000 per day Take insurance from worldnomads which covers upto 6000m. Any guided tour is not adventure. If you are guided then it is true that you will not get lost in the glacier, but where is the adventure and fun in that.... Trekking ebc is not about packages, but it is more about leaving the baggage behind and blend with the nature
If you’ve seen the video carefully you must know this was the first trek I ever did in my life and I didn’t want to be stupid to risk my life. It is extremely important to trek with a guide when you do your first high altitude trek because a lot of people don’t know when it’s okay to continue and when not if they are struck with altitude sickness. If you don’t know this already, some people die in their sleep on the trek because of low oxygen. If you fall extremely sick, who would help you? There are no doctors, no hospitals, no network, no WiFi, no facility to even charge your phone. And who said guided tour is not adventurous? The place still remains equally beautiful, you still meet lovely locals, you still make new friends, you still learn new things and you still test your body to new limits. It is an absolute adventure. PS- if you don’t have a gudie you will never learn interesting facts about the places on the trek. You’d never discover hidden places. You’d just be walking alone for 12 days with no one to talk to.
Hi, Are there lockers in the airport? either KTM or Lukla? I f I hire porter to simply carry my pack do I have to pay for his r/t flight to Lukla? or do I wait until Lukla? any info. will be greatly appreciated..
richard peters You can get very cheap rooms in KTM to keep your luggage in like $7-$8. If you are okay to keep your luggage without a lock, you can leave it at the hotel reception where you will stay in KTM. No idea about lockers. For the porter, if you get a porter in Lukla after you land, you don’t need to pay for his flight ticket because the Lukla porters come from small villages around Lukla :)
If you don’t take the flight, how are you planning to reach Lukla? It takes 3-4 days extra to reach there. You can just go yourself and figure out the price on the way.
