My question is if the afganistan that the United states trained for 20 yrs, why were they joining the Taliban?? Not all but alot did?? United states allies are mad at us, but if it wasn't working there why keep trying?? I realize it was alot of money and people died, why did we stay there?? Plus in Vietnam we left in 1975, how can you help other countries if they don't want help??

@@jenniferpoland8886 maybe they’re were intrigued by the Talibans ideology? Idk. Back in the Vietnam war, the NVA and the Vietcongs uses a lot of techniques to rally more men to join them, going as far as starving the families who refused to join infusing communist ideology into peoples lives and deliberately spread misinformation about the US and the South Vietnamese government. Maybe the Taliban did something similar? It’ll be unfolded.

2:00 Here you see the contrast between the South Vietnamese, and the Afghan Army. The ARVN were outnumbered, undersupplied against an enemy with tanks and an air force. Even when the Americans abandoned them, they still fought till the bitter end.
The Afghan Army was ten times the size of the Taliban, and possessed tanks, and an Air Force. Yet they put up zero resistance. The Taliban simply walked into every major city uncontested.

But there is a big difference in the Middle East.
Afghanistan will be dragged into Iran and Saudi Arabia feud, the support to setup a stable government is unstable and historically Middle East thrives on religious regime, in which some laws goes 100% against humanitarian system hence they don’t garner stable backing.
Vietnam success in growth is also mainly due to china being its neighbour, whether Vietnamese accept it or not, it’s a given fact.
There are border disputes, some feuds but the Vietnam policy of privatisation which saved its economy is mainly due to private Chinese investment.
And sadly I can’t see it happening in Afghanistan, although the world is more global and support is so much easier to provide, the clashing beliefs and local laws hinder the growth.
Ultimately the citizens will suffer while the top dogs who sets up for power and riches will enjoy their luxury until death.

    Mao Zedong's On Protracted War
    Sun Tzu's Art of War
No amount of military hardware or special force training will ever defeat a highly organized and politically-zealous enemy.
While the US armed forces is apolitical; the armed forces of the Chinese, Russian, Cubans, Vietnam, are politically indoctrinated and their loyalty are tested even before they learn how to fire a gun or rifle.
America didn't learn her lesson in Vietnam; America didn't understood itself and forgotten that the US Armed Forces was born out of a revolutionary group.
