Meet Laura, our Mechanical Engineer Apprentice

This International Women's Day we're speaking with Laura, one of our Mechanical Engineer Apprentices. Laura shares what it's like to be a woman in engineering, shares her advice for other women and gives an insight in to what life's like at Pleasure Beach Resort.

Well done Laura, what a great story and example. It must be amazing to do your job and I'm always a bit envious when I visit parks, I'd rather be doing your job than riding the rides! It must be such a rewarding job. If I had my time again I'd have enquired about apprenticeships. I'm too far in to a good career in a different industry now but when I was at school apprenticeships were not promoted or talked about much at all, in fact they were discouraged. I really think this was a silly thing that schools were doing, there is now a huge number of people who would have been better going down that route. My question for the park would be is there an age limit on when you can apply? If you decide you want to reset and change careers at say 30 can you apply for an apprenticeship?
