So do you have to take the flashing apart again to fold up the tent when you’re done.

Good question. We've left a stove flashing on, and folded up the tent without an any major issue. The ring that secures the flashing to the tent will likely become bent in a few places through from when the tent is rolled up, and the silicone hold will become awkwardly shaped - but the flashing still worked. After repeated use and folding the tent up with it on, the flashing will probably become a bit compromised though. So, yes you can keep it on. However, to get extra life out of it, we'd take it off if you have the time. Removal / replacement is easier to do now that our stove jack flashing kit comes with wing nuts.

@@Brandylamb Great! Thank you for a quick response. I bought the Winnerwell Large Nomad and the Kodiak Canvas 12x12 but haven’t been able to use either yet.

i think its best to use a medical scalpel .to get more accuracy in the cut of the circle .

We can’t argue with that suggestion! The sharper the tool - the more precise the cut.

Hi, Do I need to disassemble the tent when storing it?

If you are asking if you should remove the flashing from the tent when storing, then the answer is - yes, that is ideal. We've kept it on and folded up the tent and all was fine. But the flashing ring does bend and leave and "imprint" on the canvas when doing this. Likely the flashing may become compromised when the tent is folded up over and over again if it is left on.

nice... but what do you do when you're camping in warmer weather, and you don't need the stove? Does that jack fold down onto itself, so the flap can cover the hole?

Yes, the stove jack can collapse inward to that you can cover the hole with the canvas. One could also remove the bolts and the flashing to allow the jack cover to seal perfectly again.

Is there a water tank for your stove?

We sell a Winnerwell tent stove on our website. We don't offer a water tank on our website, but you can find these directly on the manufacturers website.

Hopefully we find time to do a follow-up video! We had hoped that the step-by-step video and text would be useful when performing the stove jack installation outside - while you pause / rewind / play between steps :-).
