I have been trying to figure out the best way, somewhat easy way to put a stove jack on my Kodiak Canvas and you showed me how. Nice. I have everything except the stove jack, but its on the way. Should arrive sat. Thanks for posting.
@@boominaudio Well Andy I got my stove jack installed on my kodiak canvas tent. I installed it the way you did and it came out better than i thought. Very pleased. Thank you for your video. Very helpful. Do you have facebook. Ill send you some pictures.
Thank you so much for the video I have the exact same set up and will be installing my stove jack today. Our first test of the tent will be camping in the mountains finding our Christmas tree. Currently the mountains have 3' of snow and the temps will be around 0 at night
Hi Tyler, that is awesome! I have a video coming out with us setting up in the snow and running the fire for 5 days nonstop. With that being said, I think you will have a good experience!
well after a almost a year, how is the glue and seam holding up It sure looks like it was working pretty well during this install. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us and I hope yall have been able to use your tent a ton this year sir. thanks again and have a blessed week dale
I will be setting up within the next 2 weeks. Since you asked I’m inspired to do a review video! Did a 2 week camp out last time it was up right before summer. Aside from the hot months we usually do once a month till I get an AC port installed 😁
@@boominaudioI just added a spring bar to my camping equipment. did an initial camp out last night. It got down to 40 which is not cold by any means, but the little stove worked so well, I had to open two windows to keep the heat down hahaha. I'm going to season it and treat it with sayers for the fleas ticks and spiders today, leave it set up another night or two then pack it up for our two weeks deer camp. This thing is so nice and I am so happy with it. I am pleased yall are about to head out for two weeks as well. I ordered some of the glue and I am gong to make some leather patches for my door and glue them on with the same glue you used. I did use your links so that should give you an extra nickel at some point as well. Thanks agian and have a blessed week my freind. dale

I think you can get away with just one, but, I was using the larger one. The heat/air caused it to go solid mid use so having a second one REALLY helped when things didn't go to plan of only using 1. I would be good to try on scrap material of good size so you can see how your enfironment affects the work piece. Inside it was a slow cure (30 seconds), outside in the sun was like 5 - 10 second super glue - with over half of the bottle going solid! Having said that the teant and jack have proved to be great from 21+ in of snow, rain storms- no leaks!
What was the name of that glue? I didn't catch that. I have the same tent and have been running a buddy heater but would really like a stove. Thank you for the video and your time. Looks like it looked well. Let me know how it worked out for you.
How long of heat do you get at times with that stove? And do you think if I put this set up and this stove in my 10x10 Kodiak it’ll be too hot? I do run cold normally lol, thanks so much for the video
So far only at the top 2 of 5 sections in a GOOD snow storm. Some small drops from the stove jack area that hit the stove but was hot and evaporated immediately.
Man, when you stabbed that hole in the roof, I cringed. Great job! It sure would be nice if Kodiak offered the flexbow with a jack installed already. The Springbar has a jacked version but they are a bit pricey.
I’ve used it on a few 5 day camps with fire non stop and 1 two day with +21 in snow and a no stove. Not a single regret. I do need to get a cable that ties the pipe to the stove so heavy wind can’t pull it up/out.
@@boominaudio nice! It’s that fear of spending a boatload on the canvas tent in order to put a hole in it lol. You think there is a need for a tripe wall pipe section? Not sure how hot it gets around the stove jack.
In the video the exposure was a little exaggerated but it was way hot in the tent, pipe slightly red in person , Glowing red in picture, if put in like my other video , the jack is designed for the heat, but cool time it hits the stove jack area. I have bought a second stove jack for my Grand Cabin or a second in the flewbow for a second option, still undecided…
Another question (now that I have all the pieces to put the stove jack on)….when in use and either raining or snowing…do you get any leaked? Was thinking of using the red silicone jack sleeve to creat a water tight fit, but that might be overkill?

How are you liking the Spring Bar? I was scoping the admiral color a while back and the duffle bag. Haven’t pull the trigger yet, nice gear though!

How well does it roll up after that install? Is it fairly flexible?
@@gordonartis5139 it rolls back up normally, even with wind and rain no leaks.
Awesome video ! Thx for the idea. I’ll be ordering some of that glue. 👍🏼
Have you had issues with rain getting in when not using the stove? I like the set up but i think im going to do a side wall install
I am actually working on that very video! Short answer, no problem with rain and/or snow.

It works great, but in windy conditions I need to secure the pipe to the stove so it can’t separate

how water dont drip in during rain alongside the metal horn
@@midnightdxd3113 we have another video of it setup during a huge snow storm, seemed very minimal drip down with knocking the snow off during.

It does take time to get the heat dialed in, with air in and damper. Variables like wood type and outside temp affect the inside temp as well.
Curious with the stove in place do you get water running down the stove pipe?

Does tear mender work on insulated ice fishing tent material?
I don’t know. I tried a plastic vinyl and it did not work. Tent is still holding up great

Great question! I have been in a good rain and it did not leak. I had my sleeping bag under it and was all good!😀
Actually added an electric / gas line inlet to the tent as well, video coming soon!
Where did your Teuscher family come from? Switzerland?
Camp chef stove?
Yes it is the Camp Chef Alpine cylinder stove
