The pin/slide system is very clever. Congratulations on your design. I put a piece of 1 1/4” schedule 40 pipe on the 6 foot grader blade that I use clearing snow on the back of my B2601 Kubota tractor. I slotted the pipe, same as yours, and just welded some 3”x3”x 3/16” steel tabs to the pipe, and use the bolts that go through the scraper edge to hold it on. So, mine requires removing two bolts to remove or install the pipe. But having the pipe covering the scraper makes all the difference on soft gravel driveways. I have a 54” commercial snowblower mounted on the front of the tractor, and a soft cab to stay warm and dry. I welded a 1” pipe on the scraper edge of the blower and just leave it on there full time. It still gets right down to the gravel surface no problem. Having nice toys like this makes snow days fun!
I live on a private road and my plow always tears it up until the ground freezes. And with our crazy weather patterns it doesn't freeze up most seasons. I thought about using the shoe holes to hold it in the slot similar to how you have it. Then I could just unpin the shoe links and store it on another set of hole brackets on top. Amazing job! I have been using plastic pvc pipe on the blade of my ATV snowplow, love it and works amazingly on a gravel driveway, but the pvc pipe gets bridle and breaks with the cold so easy, I’ve gone through 3pipes already and it’s only February! I definitely have to start on this!
That looks awesome but you didn’t show the other side. What does the the hook think hold on too? Driver side you got the pin that slides in then you attach the safety pin . But the other side you welded something to the blade to keep the hook thing attached while plowing?
Looks pretty neat !! Am going to try it on my 8-foot plow. Didn't see any detail on the mount at the bottom of the blade on the left side...facing the plow. Or did I miss it ?? Wall thickness of the 2-inch pipe ? Creative solution !!
I removed the carriage bolt, replaced it with a regular hex head bolt and welded an extra nut to the head of the bolt for extra depth. Then I welded a plate to the pipe with a slot that slides over the bolt head. Thanks for watching!
@@D2500R it cleans awesome, back blades awesome, no complaints at all AND it saves the gravel and grass areas. Guys that put it on the blade have some problems but I used 3" pipe and mount it where the feet would go and keep the actual cutting edge ¼ - ½ off the ground. Wish I could send you a pic.

Try a piece of 2 inch water pipe or plastic gas main pipe
Before you go steel, try ABS pipe on your little plow blade. I’ve heard that works well with light weight blades like that.

I have the pipe behind the blade and mount it with 2 tabs where the shoes go this way its on and off. Been doing this for 25 years.

Very Well Done Sir! Did you cut the slot with a Grinder? A torch would have likely distorted the Pipe. Sched 40 2"?
How did you cut the slot in the steel pipe ?
You can use an angle grinder with a fiber cutting wheel. I used a gasoline powered cut off saw with a fiber wheel.

It’s a gas powered concrete cut off saw with a fiber blade for cutting steel.
You can use an angle grinder with a fiber wheel.
